    =====================

    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
    Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

    And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Steps To Become Fedex Certified!!!

Yea, we moved mid July to Lake Holiday aka The Summit. We absolutely love it up here except for the driving. I clean houses and have a few in Stephens City and they used to be within 2 miles of where I lived. Now they are 22 miles!! Oh well...

Where are you in our state? I think you told me before...

Im in stephenson!Thats funny i had a few lawns up in lake holiday.Dont have any now ,yes it is a little drive.But i still got a few in stephens city.Ha ha. Id think with some advertising you could clean and not leave lake holiday, alot of middle class older people there .later

Dam! it keeps saying try later we are unable reqeust a account at this time.Theres a lock sign at top of my computer like my computer is locked from me doing it with a credit card or something???:shootfoot

It's not the padlock that indicates you're at a secure location is it? You should see that before giving any info to any site. But it shouldn't stop you from entering anything.

Well it took me a while but i FINALLY shipped out my test package. I have been so busy with my kittens being born, my dragons hatching, and my husband getting ready to go out to sea, again. But soon enough I will get an answer and I hope it is a good one with my dragons being 4 weeks old now and a few of them are already 6 inches long. I am just glad that I order my crickets on line. My dad spends 100 bucks a week on crickets at his pet store to feed 2 bearded dragons and at many pet stores it around 10 crickets for a dollar.

You'd think crickets would be an easy thing to grow yourself in GA. If you need a lot of them, why not?

Right now I have 5 cats and my bearded dragons. My cats get into everything, oh it's 3 adults and 2 kittens. They even knocked over a heat lamp and burned a hole into the carpet, that was when I was breeding them last year. Right now I am just ordering them in bulk from online and keeping them in a bin to feed out over the next 2 weeks. I know it's not hard, I've done it inadvertently before when I had raised tadpoles into frogs. Plus last year we didn't have as much expendable income as we do this year so I can buy wire to secure the heat lamps so they can't be knocked over any more.

you paid to ship it? Why didn't you talk to your rep? They would have given you the an account number so that they pay for the shipping. I had to e-mail my rep twice to get the number. The first was how much I would be paying so she told me to bill them. She didn't give me the account number so I e-mailed her back asking for it.

Well they said they dont cover it that i pay to ship it.So i could had ask here or call agian.I just went and shipped it and was thinking $10-12 bucks i was shocked when she said $25.:eek:

that sucks.. I am just glad that my chick gave me the account number so that it would be billed to them and not me. oh well, whats done is done. hope you get certified!

Congrats! I got mine too! I ordered heat and cold packs today and more deli cups since all mine are going to hold gecko eggs..up to 8 now! Luckily I have bags and boxes from the ones I had shipped to me...I am putting 3 up for sale once I get my supplies..just so nervous!!

You are not certified until legal approves your account so make sure you get your waiver signed by Fed Ex and returned to you before you ship.

Yea, I know. I got my waiver a week ago. Took about a week after they approved me which was a week or two after sending my test shipment.

You don't need to have a business name. You would still put in your home address, but not ship to/from it.

Good to know, because this was my question! :D

Also, quick question, I set up my online account, got my acct# and I see where I can fill out and submit the application for online testing directly online, however, do I need to speak with the rep prior to filling out the application and hitting submit? I assume so if only to get the fedex acct# to ship against, but can someone confirm I should speak to the rep first?
thanks,
-April

I did mine without waiting for my rep to get in touch with me, but I did foot the bill for shipping, had no issues.

I am shipping out my first snake next week. So I am hoping it warms up a few degrees. I am nervous since it is my first shipment. Wish me luck!
