    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

The twitter info thing does appear to be accurate, as I searched for Twitter accounts I know of, and the information was correct for the ones I looked up.

So the Caddy/Nick Twitter used to be populated. It appears to be about a year old, seems everything got deleted off of it.

I don't know if this will help anything or not but I thought I would give it a try. I noticed the price of the computer and some of the snakes he is asking for trade and it doesn't add up to me. I am not really a ball python person but 1.1 pieds would be a lot more then $800 right??

I think another important point as far as the snakes being simalar but not the same is that he is very good at finding snakes that look the same and posting them as we have seen in the dan jobes account. He wasnt great at it but they wher similar. Now IMO thier is a good chance he is learning from thies threads and his tacktics are getting better, he islearning what is not working and is producing better scams. That is how criminls get better at something!!

This infotmation makes me second guess a possible trade with Matt now ( the matt I talked to sounds young and he says he only 25 ) if that info helps any, but I wll only do so if he sends first and everything checks out, just to cover my butt in the event.

Being disable, mean no real funds( specially with a wedding being planned) and the outlooks of a dry summer( means no extra side project money).
To matt it nothing personal but if your Steven Miller or the nick person that the only way we will trade!
Also mechnut this is dead on he is young and also has a very thick acsent i talk to him when he tried to scam me as Dan Jobes he sent fake pics and was wanting to do a very high end trade. The pics wher from GOOGLE and i found out quickly thanks to Ponderosa Snake. IMO i would not try to make this trade!!

Looks like Caddy removed his laptop ad. Could a MOD restore the ad so we could get a screenshot to post in here?

There are couple of big differences between his listing here on FC, and the CL ad. In the ad on this site, I believe he claimed it had 16Gb of DDR3 RAM and a 2Gb graphics card. As opposed to the 8Gb of RAM and 1Gb graphics from the Craigslist ad.
 
Craigslist ad:
-Intel i7 720QM processor
-8Gb DDR3 RAM
-Nvidia GeForce GT 230M graphics processor

Fauna ad:
-Intel i7 2630QM processor - more desirable as it runs cooler and has an integrated GPU
-16Gb DDR3 RAM
-Nvidia GeForce 610M graphics processor - twice as much available VRAM

The RAM upgrade would be pretty simple to do, but upgrading the CPU an graphics processor is MUCH more difficult, if it's even possible at all on that particular laptop model. It'd involve buying the CPU and GPU (that CPU alone is going for $200 on Ebay), some degree of disassembly in order to install the new pieces of hardware, and finally, tracking down and flashing a new BIOS version that'll work with the upgraded hardware. All in all, a fairly cost prohibitive and unlikely scenario.

Definitely looks like he fabricated the specs in order to pad the value of his laptop on this site to get a higher dollar value of snakes in trade.

If you'd choose to follow through on such a transaction with someone that's been shown to be a complete liar, at the very least, it seems basically like saying his shady activities are ok as long as your particular deal goes well. Might wanna rethink that stance.
 
Yep....looks like at the very least, even if Caddy IS not Steve Miller (hah, right) he has lied about his location of residence to all of Fauna AND he has lied about the one and only product he has posted here.
 
Like i said he is learning from his origional scams, (but stil seems to be so stupid that we figure him out this fast) Idiot!!
 
I do have to say at this point the Nick Hall twitter, altho VERY odd, seems to be the only thing connecting Caddy to Nick Hall.

It is difficult for me to think it's simply a huge fluke, but it also looks to be a dead end. Even if Nick hadn't perma banned himself, I'm not sure what he could tell us that would clear it up other then prove he isn't Steve Miller. I have come across enough info about Nick Hall to think he is a separate person from Steve Miller. SO at this point I'd say Caddy (Steve Miller) is most likely not Nick Hall. (but its still all very odd)

and even tho Nick is banned, if he is indeed a separate person, I am sorry for the confusion....but considering the Twitter connection and Nick's past Fauna actions, cant really blame me =/

Im sorry i guess i have become somewhat childish in my remarks in this thread, I am just very surprised and annoyed by this guy. The simalaritys are off the chart. The palce he comes from, the same last name, the same accent and age range, the accounts the amails are from are all hotmail accounts its all to rediculous and i have begun to just find this desturbing but also hilarious so i wanted to say sorry for making childish jokes i am just at my wits end with this guy:ack2: He even tried to get Kevin once but luckily he mentioned the name to me and i pointed him to the threads we have all started. I mean seriously when does it end!!
