    =====================

    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
    Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

    And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

She has the appearance of a female that is within a couple weeks of giving birth, even though she isn't. Thats either a very large ovulation or she is a bit over weight in my opinion.

I wasn't going to say anything in the prior thread but I agree with Jeremy, that boa looks overweight or that is the biggest, largest ovulation I have ever seen. Her tail doesn't look overly fatty so I wasn't sure if it really was just overweight or not. Typically the swelling is centered in the back part but her entire body looks super thick. Gravid boas don't usually start looking huge until about 1/2 way through gestation. But who knows, I've been wrong before.
:D

Male boas court, courtship can last anywhere from a couple hours to 2 or more months. The female will have a pre-ovulation swell which isn't always noticable, then will allow the male to copulate. Afterwards the female will ovulate followed by the POS (post ovulation shed). That shed cycle is usually longer than normal.

well, good luck!

How long have you had her?

Please don't take it the wrong way when I say she appears overweight, its just that ovulations don't tend to look like that. I have seen an ovulation from a female that had 44 babies and it wasn't that big. She was 8ft.

boa prego

not sure if this will help and the pics arnt that great but here is a boa I had right at ovulation. Her tail still looked normal.

And her she is a few days before giving birth.

again not sure if that helps but.

Thats what I was talking about. You can clearly see the difference between an ovulation and a prego-swell. Nice pics Josh.

holy smokes Josh that girl was Humungo! how many babies did she have? My gal that had 34 wasn't nearly that big looking (she was an 8'er).

ive had her 3 weeks n she nvr ate here yet refused food everytime n she was nvr that big here is her pic just hrs aftr i got her

so she was hooked up with a coral before you got her 3-4 weeks ago. Was she with any males prior to that? (like months prior?) Do you know how old she is? Is this the same female you had paired up your male with in the other thread?

no not same male that female is totally diff this one was nvr with a male in my poss she is a 07 and the previous owner said she was with a coral male for months befor he ended up selling her to me actually sold me two 07s females the one in previous post was a 08 calico if u read the post

Assuming you were sold a gravid boa, it may be very difficult to determine if she really is since you don't have much history on her (I am assuming you don't by the way you talk). There are other possibilities that will cause a female to go off feed and appear bloated like she is, basically just appearing or seeming gravid. If you were able to get her shed record, it may help. As knowing when she has shed recently will help you understand her pattern, and if she may be prego. Taking a possibly sick snake to the vet is something I know everyone recommends when a problem is brought up here, but this may be your only forsure way to know. Some great breeders are fooled every year by gravid/ovulating and non-gravid females. Best of luck. Remember, some of us may come off kinda harsh (I try not too), but we are here to help. Just remember, there is only so much we can help with on a forum.

better pic this is the pic the previous ownr took n sent to me when i was interested in buying her n her sister

I agree. And knowing more of her history I can now say that she may be gravid. Its just how you worded it orignally it sounded like you had her with a male for 2-3 weeks and now think she is gravid. If previous owner had a male in with her, it is likely she may be, she is big. She definately was much healthier looking in that last pic. So, just in case, be ready for babies.

sry for miss wording i tend to do it alot lol that why i dnt txt alot i can say it better then type it but yea as u can see she is got something goin on

well I would leave her alone for a few days and see what happens.
Thanks Jeremy for the comment
And to April she only gave me 16 fat healty babies 0 slugs and 0 stillborns.
It was her first litter and hoping for better next time.

What are her temps in the cage as of now ?
