    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

OK Mike.. If you aren't Jerry then do us all a favor and contact the buyers of the two snakes in question and ask if you can post their names on here. If the sales were successful and there were no issues with the animals these buyers shouldn't have a problem getting their names in the mix to help "Clear" you of the scrutiny that you are under!

Lets just go through all the "coincidences"
1) You get an inquiry on you find out you are selling animals not in your possesion and dissapear for awhile then Jerry shows up with the same IP address.
2) Jerry is selling the exact same snakes that you had posted for sale.
3) Jerry is "Moving" to the same area that you are located in.
4) Jerry is having the Postal Money Orders sent to an abandoned house pretty much down the street from you.
5) The Money Order that has been "Missing in action" is suddently returned to the original person AFTER you inquire about it.
6) YOU know almost EXACTLY when that Money Order would be returned to the Original Purchaser.

It's just too much evidence against you. Yes.. you may be making some sales now and being a "Good Boy" for now but there are Many people here that wouldn't trust anything you say due to these facts!

If I missed anything Please forgive me but this is just what I've gotten from these threads on here!

Great idea, actually. But unless they are respected and known members of the community, it wouldn't actually clear his name. He seems to be a charming fellow and judging by the number of members he's already gotten under his influence regardless of the "evidence" presented, I believe him to be quite capable of getting a friend to do it.
 
Personally, when in doubt of a seller, I just don't buy from them. If the offer is too good to be true, it's either because someone is desperate, ignorant, or a cheat. In all cases, it's a situation to be avoided, unless the desperate person is a personal friend in need.

This whole situation is just too shady to be good. Buyers beware!
 
That's very True Deborah.. that's why if they are members of the community that are respected (which I doubt) they shouldn't have a problem coming forward! Otherwise there are still too many open ends to this to make me or most of the people here feel comfortable with him. I also agree that he can be charming and Yes.. there are going to be those that will fall for his game.

Outside of all that is going in the thread discussion wise... I kind of have to wonder about someone dealing in high end morphs who admits he can't even sex snakes!!! I feel sorry for people who already bought from him as they are now playing the lottery on the accuracy of the genders of animals they received.

Your entitled to your own opinion and you have clearly stated it multiple times before. You might see something "wrong" with posting that on CS but I do not. Ever single person that emailed, called, or text me about those snakes were givin the truth. I clearly told them that I breed ball pythons and I have many more than a couple of normals. They were also told the correct sex of the animals and that the only reason I put that on the ad was to prevent it from getting flagged and deleted. Oh and they were completely fine with that. The snakes have actually sold and I should take that ad down but I dont want anyone on here to think Im trying to "hide" something.

Im more concerned with the fact that you think it is ok to lie to make a sale.... and that also leaves me to beleive that you intentionally lied about your Jerry persona so you could keep selling here.

You just proved that you have no problem lying if you think it will benefit you.

You guys always seem to read past the stuff you dont want to see?

But yea I lied to them to make a sale, RIGHT!

Did I lie on the ad to keep it from gettin deleted? Yes.
Did I lie to any person inquiring about the snakes? NO!!!!

How would this even matter? If the people read that ad and saw that the sex was unknown then dont you think that if they were to still inquire about the ad the sex wouldnt even matter to them? But yet I'm lying to my customers??

I dont see it but OK. :D

Its real simple... you have proven you will lie if it suits your purpose. You lied so you could advertise on CL. And myself and most everyone else on here believes you lied when you said you weren't Jerry.

I think you just removed any shred of doubt. You just admitted to lying when it helps your bottom line.

Bottom line is I wouldn't trust you to tell the truth.

It was on craigslist! Dont you think that would be a local transaction? So yea I think someone would trust me with their money in a face to face deal. Would still like to know how I lied to people that wanted the snakes?

The ad said the sex was unknown? If the ad said they were all females and they were all males then yea I see a lie there but since the ad clearly said the sex was unknown how was that lying?
 
It's a pretty common thing done on CL...the flaggers really are a pain in the *** on there.

Nope... I have had folks ask me to ship some things back when I was advertising some of my stuff on there (non reptile related)

Here is the problem with lying... you cant remember what lie you told. You said "clearly said the sex was unknown how was that lying".... its lying because you knew the sex of the animals... and you admited it in the post above.... that YOU typed. It's lying because you specifically made the post the way you did so it wouldnt get flagged.
