I have bought from DTS a couple of times without any issues.

I don't think it's particularly helpful to demonize those who are honest about their positive transactions in this thread.
People operating in this manner is where devastating disease outbreaks begin, you know, the kind that will wipe out your entire collection. What he told me, what he posted here, and what was evidenced by tangible proof were 3 entirely different things with regards to quarantine, species kept, and protocol for dealing with sick specimens. These are very dangerous areas in which to be so blatantly and deliberately dishonest.
True that! I'm sure there are many good honest people who have done business with him (likely prior to learning about how he operates).I don't think it's particularly helpful to demonize those who are honest about their positive transactions in this thread.
Secondly, while I do not support anyone dealing with him, and would not consider knowingly purchasing from someone who does, I don't think it's particularly helpful to demonize those who are honest about their positive transactions in this thread.
So you have no qualms about dealing with and supporting a proven bad guy?
That is good to know.
As I said, I took a risk and didn't get screwed. I knew the risk I was taking and I quarantined these animals to make sure I didn't risk my collection. That does not make me a supporter of scumbags in the hobby. He had something I had been looking for for a long time and was unable to find anyone else who had them, so I took a risk. I am not saying he doesn't sell sick and diseased animals, I am saying I may have gotten lucky with what I got but THESE ANIMALS were good.
Well, actually, it kinda does. His scumbag status is fairly indisputable; and your purchase dollars are supporting him. It's a mentality like yours that helps people like him stay in business. Rationalize it any way you want; but your choice to give him your business, despite knowing exactly what he is, comes off as nothing more than a tacit F-U to everyone he's wronged. As I said, as long as you're not the one being bent over, that's apparently all that matters. It's not an uncommon sentiment. Not exactly conducive to a safer herpetocultural community; but nothing that countless others haven't embraced. That does not make me a supporter of scumbags in the hobby.
Just wanted to chime in here..
I've done countless transactions with Dan over the last 10 years, thousands of dollars at a time, and have never had any problems with any of them.
I have seen plenty of his bad guy threads over the years, but anyone who does hundreds of transactions a year faces the possibility of ending up with 1 or 2 bad ones.
So you get some of the animals you sell from Scolaro? You are now on my don't deal with too. And Dan has far more than his share of Bad guy threads, not one or two. Just remember that if one of your multi-thousand dollar deals goes south, Dan will not be there for you.
