    =====================

    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
    Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

    And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

Hi, I need some advice. Joe Ellis Reptiles auctioned off a male Josie ball. The proceeds are going to be donated to USARK and PIJAC. I'm completely floored because I really thought I was going to be outbid but I ended up winning. We're currently discussing how to send payment. Now the question is, what the heck should I do with the little mustached guy? Also, what do you guys think of the Josie ball? Do you think it's a completely new morph or possibly related to something already out there? What kind of potential do you think this guy has?

josie

I dont know too much about the josies, but i do know a few breeders that have them. I was told its potential was untapped, if had money I would have bought it too. I Still cant find out how the super was produced, and i dont think they know either. lol:shrug01:

I think it would be a lot of fun to play with. I would pair it with a few codominant genes that wouldn't totally dominate the pattern... like a yellowbelly or pastel. I agree with Collin, I don't think the genetics have been figured out yet. Sounds like a great project though and congratulations!

I have a Josie Male, your going to be very pleased when you get yours pics dont do these things justice. Ive bred mine to a Normal a Pastel and a Mojave, hopefully something cool comes out of it. There is no Super yet, the one he has that he calls the Ultra was NOT from a Josie X Josie pairing. Im pretty excited to see where this project goes, best of luck with yours!

So jealous!! I wish I had a Josie Ball!!! Congrats!! I think the morph has a lot of potential.

Completely sweet project. I thought I was going to outbid you ;) I would have taken that guy in a second. Definitely still pretty new. Should lighten some stuff up for you.

Joe is an awesome guy too. You could easily ask him all these same questions. I believe everything he tells me when it comes to snakes. He doesn't do the whole used car dealer speil just to sell the snakes. He will give you honest answers and good advice.

ENJOY your new snake :)

Good luck with a fun/new project! I think it's a pretty cool looking morph and will be following what happens with it over the next year or so.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I think I am going to be pairing him to a normal and a pastel next season. Maybe the kingpin and an albino too. Can you imagine an albino josie? I can't, so maybe I should make some hets and find out!

Joe Ellis Reptiles produced the first morph. There are several threads with pictures about josie balls on fauna if you search.

+1 :thumbsup::thumbsup:

Nice lol. I was planning on snatching that guy but the morning of the last day of the auction one of the horses decided to hurt his eye pretty bad so there went my snake money for a bit, got another 2000 in vet bills this week, stupid horse. Good luck with him, give us pics when you breed him :)

I LOOOOOOOOVEEEEEEE The JOSIES! Congrats on your new pick up. :) One of these days I will own one, just havent figured out how to accomplish such a feat yet.
