    =====================

    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
    Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

    And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

HI i am interested in getting a female veiled and i have heard alot of stories about people buyig chams and not getting the right one they ordered or getting less than perfect animals and i was wondering i f anyone knew of breeders with good reputations for veileds i was looking at one on lostlakechameleons.com or lllreptile.com are these good websites? i currently have a 8mth old male that i got from an expo in taylor,mi. but it is a long drive and i would rather order one this time, also i am always working and its hard to get the time to go to expos lately, if anyone has any info that would be great thanks!!!!!!!!!!

I was going to suggest hitting a show but you are quite a distance from one. Maybe arranging something with a breeder so that going to the show wouldn't be a waste of time. While I do not know anything about the first site you asked about I would suggest doing a BOI search on any potential seller. With that said I believe there are a few threads on LLL already. I have a customer who is Cham breeder and I will speak to him on his availability and if he has anything I will let you know.

i think you will find that most commercial sellers of chameleons do not offer pictures of the actual specific animals for sale, personally if i were looking to buy a veiled from a commercial site , i would probably use fl chams (mike monge ,also a cf member). but before i looked there, i would look in the classified section of "chameleon forums" for a private breeder, members there keep pretty close tabs on each other, and there is a lot of member peer pressure, and since the forum is dedicated primarily to chameleons, and their proper care, the vast majority of members are experienced knowledgable keepers and only members in good standing are allowed to advertize in the classifieds section, and any ads that show any issues are removed by the moderators, if you did get a deal that was unsatisfactory in any way , there would be a lot of member peer pressure for a satisfactory resolution and would probably offer a better chance of getting it worked out than if you got one from someplace else . you would also have a better chance of finding someone who was willing to send you pictures of the actual specific animal for sale , plus you have the advantage of reading all previous posts by a member/ seller which gives you the ability to get a sense of the type of animals they keep and how they keep them, plus a good look into the mindset of that particular keeper. i think that you will find that most of the more reputable cham sellers here are also "cf " members if you are not already a member i would strongly reccomend joining

thanks for the info i signed up on chameleonforums.com a couple of weeks ago just wasnt sure whether i should get one from someone on there and i have looked at the flchams website too, and i might get one from there they are little more expensive but seem worth the extra expense thanks so much.

actually i just checked the flchams website and they only have juveniles i am looking for one that is closer to the age of my male who is 8mths. And there is no ads for veileds on the forums site most of them are too old and i dont know why but it wont let me post a wanted ad .as for the lostlakechameleons.com i wrote them an email 4 days ago and still no response:(

it wont let you post because you are a junior member and you need full member status in good standing to post in cf classifieds, about 3 or 4 dozen positive, non disruptive posts over a 2 or 3 month period and you will have full member status, the feature is designed to keep the forum civiliuzed and keep unknowns from dumping substandard animals on cf / its a good thing / you can still pm the selling party

theres nothing wrong with a lost lake cham, they have a good reputation for quality chams, its just good to check more than one source, no matter where you buy

i ended up getting a 9mth old female from theveiledchameleon.com i should be getting her on monday i am sending out the payment tommorrow i seen her and fell in love she is very bright green and the perfect age of one i was looking for.here is a pic

most cham shippers only ship mon-wed or thurs, you dont want your cham scheduled to arrive on a mon as that would mean sitting at least one, possibly two, extra days in shipping (not good)

i lost my debit card actually so i had to send a money order so they said they will ship it as soon as they receive it and it will be here by overnight shipping before 10:30am i made sure of it because, i didnt want it to be in the box for more time than that. i cant wait for it to get here i am so excited!!!

Did you get the cham you ordered from theveiledcham? Just wondering as I am looking for a new addition and am in the same situation with time.
