    =====================

I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

I did a trade back in november.
I received a pastel lesser female weighting in at 840 grams.
I was told she was alittle bit of a picky eater, but when she did eat it was afs and mice.
Ok no problem.

Waited 1 week tried a mouse. Didnt eat it. Ok
Purchased 10 asf to breed and feed. Didnt eat any asf.
So I bred the asf so I get different sizes of asf.
I tried feeding live and fresh killed asf and mice at all different sizes.

She never ate..
Her feeding card is
11/15.....840 g
12/14.....809 9
1/6..... she shedded
2/23.......767 g
3/16.....755g

Temps are. Hs 92. Room temp 80... humidity 60...
The rest of my collection eat pretty much everyweek.

She acts fine. very alert and acts like a typical ball.

Is this weight lose extreme? Is it something I should worry about?
What else can I do? I think I have been pretty patient with her.....

You shouldn't worry until you notice he spine or a huge weight loss where she doesn't look healthy anymore. BP's especially females tend to not eat during the entire breeding season. One of mine hasn't eaten in months and lost more weight than that and is still 100% healthy. I would sit tight and just let her do her thing. Just make sure you offer her something every week or so. Eventually she'll take it.

Jerry.. yes she stays in her hide all day and I also tried weanlings
Brian. I still offer every week. 1 week asf and the following week mouse and so on..
Its just so frustrating. ..

It happens with them. One of my males eats like a madman all year round and another one won't all winter, it's just how they are. Until she doesn't look healthy though just keep doing what you're doing.

Yeah. Shes my little pain in the @ss... but shes a real keeper..

Thanks jerry
Thanks brian......

I understand you on the real keeper part. I have one and of course she has to be the same.

What year or month/year was she hatched? Mine is at 800gs and typically goes on 2-6 month fasts regardless of the time of year. She is my only problem feeder and kept in the same conditions. I think we just odd balls now and then. Just a guess, but if she's a 2010 or older, she has always had a rough feeding history and probably won't change. It might not even be the type of rodent if she is refusing ASFs. Some people come to that conclusion when a rare feeder finally decides to eat because ASFs are usually a last resort after a long period of trying. I got in that spot with my picky eater and thought she just wanted mice, not the case. When she does eat, I offer smaller meals at every five days until she goes on vacation again. While on vacation, I only try every 10-14 days now because all those refusals seemed too stressful.

Lol.. i hear you Nick.... I really dont know the truth on her age... I was told, if I remember correctly a 2011??
She was hatched in Florida and now she vacations with here in pennsylvania... which I dont think it matters.Since I purchased balls form Florida before. She is also my one and only PROBLEM feeder.. Im still a rookie with ball pythons but never ran into this problem before and got alittle concerned

I hope she wont always be this way.. but I guess time will tell... I'll just do want I can and let her do what she wants.

I have decent eating 2011's around that same weight so I would guess she's just at that "1000g wall" they call it or just a winter fast. I think she's put on a nice amount of weight to be declared a bad eater. My funny eater is around 800 and is a mid-2010. I wouldn't doubt if she outlives them all

Good luck!
