    =====================

    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
    Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

    And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

You’ve surely heard of snake skin shoes and hand bags, but have you heard of a snake skin pedicure? A salon owner in California is creating a trend in the nail industry that is probably just beginning. Terri Silacci, owner of Nail Lounge in Euphoria Lounge Salon & Spa, learned how to clean the snake skin and disinfect it from any poison that might still be left behind. The idea came to her when her kids brought home a piece of snake skin from a science class- which just goes to show how inspiration can come to you at any time. She was fascinated by the texture and incorporated it into her salon.

Before you get all excited and start googling away where to get this done- wait till I tell you the price. The ‘Pedicure With Snakeskin’, as it’s labeled at Silacci’s salon, will cost you $300. That’s the price to pay for an outrageous beauty trend. Would you pay that much for a pedicure? If money was no option I’d be trying it out for myself!

It's dead skin. You've got plenty of that on your feet already. Sounds like one of those Chinese medicine gimmicks to me. I don't see people swarming to put dandruff on their feet.

As long as its shed skin I see no issue with it. Like snowgyre said if someone wants to pay for dead skin let them.

I dont get pedicures as I think they are a waste of time.
I also dont get my nails done and wear makeup all the time.
As a mom of three kids (not including the hubby or animals), who can find time for something like this?
And the price? :censored: ridiculous!

I like the part that says "disinfect it from any poison" - I didn't realize snake skin was poisonous. Learn something new every day!

Saw that, and tried it myself for a hell of a lot cheaper than $300.

Looked way more awesome in person, this was a crappy picture snapped before I ran out to a reptile show.

Lasted a whole....day. Next time I'm trying something a little different and using a different top coat, I think it will come out much better.

Took me about an hour and a half to complete.

wow looks nice... arent we glad we have the resources to attempt this ourselves lol. I just cant see someone paying that much money for something like this... I wonder how many people will actually eventually end up paying $300 for this service

haha nice going Misty! How'd you do it? just trim the skin and stick it to a base coat and then apply a top coat? I've been debating giving it a shot myself just to see if I can do it

That is pretty cool :) ridiculous if someone would pay $300 though! If I would've known it was worth that I would've saved all my skins & started a business :rofl:

I just did my usual base coat, coat of the nail color I wanted and while it was still somewhat wet I stuck the pre-cut/shaped piece of skin to the nail, then did a topcoat over it.

I'm going to try it again soon and this time instead of applying the skin to the color polish, I'm going to let the color dry and then put on a coat of CND "Stickey" base, then put the skin on, then a top coat, and see if that holds the skin on better as it peeled off really quickly.

Post pictures next time you do it. I'd love to see how it turns out. The pic you showed looks nice as it was. Too bad it didnt stick too well

I'm thinking that when I get into ball pythons, I need to sell their shed skin to nail shops...lol!

OOoooo! My husband showed me some links bout this a couple weeks ago. I tried it on my daughter using several different colors for the base. I did a post on my blog about it. I been meaning to try it again with like a silver or metal grey. I had alot of fun doing it but apparently my daughter hated it, she had it off by the end of the day. I could never imagine paying what some people are to get it done though.:no01:
