    =====================

I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Everyone's covered most of the vital questions but I'd like to see pictures of these eggs under a loupe. Are you sure the eggs are fertile?

It is definitely possible those eggs are duds.

I would just return the gecko back to them and ask for a new one. They are old school and only deal at shows. I have emailed them many of times and no response but at the shows they are helpful. My parents could care less about emails and Internet.

I had notified the seller of this thread so that she could respond if she wished. She has sent me a copy of the letter that she sent to this buyer:

Thank you for sending me the information about the gecko that was purchased from me at the
Hamburg show. I am sending you a cope of the letter I have sent to her regarding the purchase and her
unfounded and very untrue accusations. She was fully informed about the defective tail and I am ALWAYS
honest and up front with my customers. I also explained to her that this was why she got the geckos
a a much lower price that it would have been otherwise. She really never asked me any questions so
I assumed she understood. I will be contacting Fauna myself regarding her false accusations.
Robbie

Dear ???? (Since you did not bother to leave your name)

I am so sorry that you are not happy with your wonderful gecko. However, lets get a few things straight!

. First of all, I JUST arrived home from PA ( I am out of State) about 3 hrs ago and just got both of your emails!!!! I ALWAYS answer all of my email whether they are just an inquiry, a compliment (there have been many happy, satisified and repeat customers)), or a rather abrupt and rude email with accusations that are inflammatory and not true (I've only ever had 2 counting yours)!!!!.

I have sold thousands of geckos for over 25 years at all of the major shows in the US so I believe that I AM the experienced person on geckos. I showed you the gecko and TOLD you ahead of time that she had a DEFECTIVE tail. You never asked to hold her or look her over OUT of the deli cup. Don't blame me for you NOT looking her over after I told you she had a DEFECTIVE tail.!!! I gave you a discounted price as normally, this particular gecko would have been $185, as she has rare color, Ink-Spots, and is a Harlequin. Since she had a tail problem and not "Not Perfect", she was at a very low price. You could have easily walked away and not bought the gecko and found one at another table (I know there were none). I also had
other smaller female geckos on the table that you did not even look at.

She NEVER had MBD nor does she have it now!!!!! So your "experienced" people do not know what they are talking about. This is another inflammatory accusation that is NOT true.

A floppy tail is NOT uncommon geckos. If you are knowledgeable about a geckos structure, you would know that in this tail area, there are small fractures that makes it possible for the geckos to DETACH their tail. This is a WEAK spot in the geckos anatomy and as the gecko gets larger, sometimes the tail becomes weak at that spot. In fact, all of the geckos that have ever been observed in the wild don't even have their tails. I see that someone on the Fauna Form has already explained that to you.

Let get something else straightened out. The eggs are NOT fertile eggs as she was NEVER with a male so you and your "experienced" friends are making accusations that are not true. You do not know what your are talking about. Actually, most people would be delighted to have purchased a gecko that laid
eggs as that would be a bonus. But, I DO NOT sell geckos that have already bred although a lot of other
dealer will sell you an "old" breeder and not tell you. This is another false accusation! ALL of my female are ALWAYS sold as virgins and have NEVER been with a male. Crested geckos and Leopard Geckos will lay INFERTILE eggs when they are mature and at an age when they are close to breeding size. This is common knowledge that experienced gecko people know.

Also, what is this accusation you are saying about me feeding the gecko baby food???? Where did you get that information from as you never asked me about it and I NEVER said that I feed my geckos baby food. She has NEVER had baby food and has ONLY had crickets dusted with calcium and Rapashy food as an additive. So you are again making false accusations that are not true. You appear to be very immature and inexperienced in the area of crested geckos.

And the accusation about this gecko "ending up in the trash"!!!!! Each of my geckos are special and NEVER, EVER thrown out. Why in the would are you saying that?? This is really a very bold blatant accusation that has NEVER occurred.

Bring the gecko back to me at the August show! I want her back!!!! You are not a qualified person to take care of her and I should have NEVER sold her to you in the first place. I did have my reservations
as I have dealt with thousands of people and can tell when they are not qualified to have a crested gecko.
By not asking questions and being so unsure of what you wanted was a good indication that you are a novice.

I see that you are now putting some very bold false accusation on Fauna Classified. I will contact Fauna and get the facts straight. Rich, who runs the site, has been as a personal friend of ours for years so
he knows who I am and the animals I represent. At least I now know your name is Ashley from the site.
How sad and immature that you could not even sign your name.

I am very easy to work with if someone is not satisfied with a geckos (which has ONLY been ONE
other time)!!!!!. I will give you an $85 credit towards another gecko as long as you bring the beautiful female back to me at the August show. I know for a fact that you would probably NEVER get a credit from any other dealer at any of the shows. This is NOT a common policy for most dealers. I am being very generous in offering you a credit especially when I was completely up front with you and TOLD you that the gecko had a defective tail. Don't try to blame someone else for something that you did not thoroughly understand at the time of the purchase.

I have NEVER misrepresented my geckos or anything else I sell at any of the shows. I would not be in business for 25 years with excellent credentials if I were deceiving people.

Bring the gecko back in August.

Robbie

Ashley told me through a PM that she candled the eggs and saw the cheerio.
So that is why I was saying on here she was bred. As an egg that is not fertile will not have one.
I will surely not post anything more until Ashley posts more info.

not taking sides here, just saying, people can say a lot of things…like the egg has a cheerio in it, but without pics or proof other than her word versus the other persons word, it means less than nothing at this point.

True, at the time she told me I felt it was in honesty. I did not know she wanted to post here. I did believe her as it was not in this setting. She had told me she went out to get materials to incubate. I did not doubt it.
I guess only two people know what happened here.

Im taking down this post, since i was unconditionally rude and disrespectful. I did have the time to overlook the animal, and failed to do so. and honestly either way i'm happy with her, Robbie made contact with me today, and is obviously hurt and i'd rather not have any of my accusations believed. therefore, this post is bogus, I'm Sorry for accusing ( Robbie Hamper ) of things such as i did. The female is healthy and happy and ill leave it at that.
Good day.
Ashley

And i will post the picture of the candled egg on here, since those are actually fertile. that is the only 'true' statement i will go forward with, which they are in incubation.

Hello Ashley, I sent you a PM but will go ahead and say it here as well. BOI posts are not removed/deleted, these posts are permanent.

Robbie, BOI posts cannot be edited or removed...this thread is here to stay forever. I have to say that without pictures it is hard to draw a conclusion, but it does appear that Robbie knows her stuff and responded as quickly as possible.

I'm also really curious why you're so eager to retract your previous statements- you made many harsh accusations, and to just turn so quickly to saying that everything you said was a lie...suspicious at best. If it was all indeed a lie, then I hate to say it but I think there are not many on here who would ever sell to you. My advice is to take your time and do more research before you think about purchasing more reptiles. When and If you find a seller who will sell to you again, make sure that ALL of your questions and concerns are addressed up front.

Yeah this thread is here forever.

It's nice to see an apology on your part, but sometimes you have to stop, think, and breathe before you act. What you said was rather harsh and the accusations fairly inflammatory. Also, if the claims were bogus, as you say, that is much more damaging on your reputation than Robbie's.

So with this thread you basically shot yourself in the foot. :shootfoot

Still, post a picture of the candled egg.

i'd rather not have any of my accusations believed.

I'm thinking that someone clued you in to the fact that you are accountable for your words......

And i will post the picture of the candled egg on here, since those are actually fertile. that is the only 'true' statement i will go forward with, which they are in incubation.

Please do. And a photo of the gecko herself wouldn't be amiss either.

I apologized, because i did act out of being upset, and when she laid the eggs I was Merely scared for her, and upset since she was only 28 grams carrying them. Being so small it just bothered me. And as you said bloodybaroness I did Pretty much shoot myself in the foot, I researched cresteds 2 years before I ever owned One. I'm Completely Anal about they're temps, and I've got ocd so you could only imagine the cleanliness. I'll just Mark it off as a shame on me, Linked are pictures Before Rye Had her Clutch, One of her eggs i candled, and picture of her after\today. I also Purchased everything for incubation as quickly as i found out they were fertile. I'm sorry for feelings I hurt, and Will swallow My pride because I didn't mean to start off on the wrong foot, or cause any fauna-drama.

I'm thinking that someone clued you in to the fact that you are accountable for your words......

Also No One clued me in, I am accountable for anything i say, I'm aware of that. and This probably did Damage my Rep, But I'd rather retract statements than start a war, and rather not continue being angry/upset for Apparently No Reason. I'm easy to let others win, We all have our own opinion.

The egg you are showing is for sure a fertile egg. No doubt. She is a littler girl. Hoping she does lay anymore until larger size.
I for sure would not call her an inkspot dalmatian though. Inkspots are very large. I have attached a photo of one.
DSC_0472.jpg

That's mainly the reason I was so concerned. Being so small it just, i guess made me 'rage'. I'm hoping she doesn't lay anymore and in the mean time, i'm going to try and get her weight up so if she does it won't suck her dry of calcium. she was listed as a ink spotted harley, Fired up shes red and cream. she's gorgeous. But as you know the tail Kink worried me, then Her weight and a clutch, My Brain was going crazy.

So where as, Robbie did say in her letter to me : "This is another false accusation! ALL of my female are ALWAYS sold as virgins and have NEVER been with a male. Crested geckos and Leopard Geckos will lay INFERTILE eggs when they are mature and at an age when they are close to breeding size. This is common knowledge that experienced gecko people know" That picture of Rye's Egg should speak for itself, And That's my last End statement.
