    =====================

    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
    Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

    And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

I don't have any good quality pictures uploaded yet, but I do have some crappy cell pics for you to enjoy! I am building 2 different cages at the same time. One cage will be a stack of 4 cages with a 3 level rack system on bottom. There is a space at the bottom to accommodate the wheels, which I must say make it much easier to move around. The 2nd cage is for a customer of mine, it will be a stack of 5 cages with a lower storage shelf. I will post updated, better quality pictures of both cages as I get closer to being done. These pictures currently are of the first cage. Thanks for looking!

Size of each individual cage will be 4ft x 2ft x 1ft. Upper heat panels will be source of heat.

Looking good Jeremy. What's the deal with the wood on one side of the front?

Good question. It's something new I am doing. Since my boas tend to dump over any and every hide box I put in the cage, I am adding a 16'' wide "wall" in the front for extra security. It does 2 things for me, the snakes have a little privacy on that side and it also gives me more solid floors and ceilings, since even 3/4'' wood will flex a little. I can't wait to post the new pictures up here, these cages look great!

I am thinking about doing this on your cage Phil, what do you think? My digital camera is fixed so I will be uploading some higher quality pictures.

I think it'll be a good idea as long as my boas dont spend all their time over there where I cant see them. I'm thinking of adding some small fluorescent lights in each unit since my boa room doesn't get much natural light. I cant wait to see more pics of both cages.

Phil,

Walmart has small fluorescent lights about 6 inches long with cords that connect to each other. I used them in my 7 cager. It's great because you only have 1 plug going to the outlet for all the lights. I have 8' fluorescent lights in my snake building so the little ones in the cage don't show much when the big lights are on, but at night they look pretty cool. Just thought i would throw that out there since you mentioned it.

Man, I wish you would have told me that, I could of drilled the whole before it was stained. All you got to do when you get the cage home is drill your hole, sand it gently then take a q-tip and add a little stain.

Looks good Jeremy.

Thanks Bill! Now you see why we haven't talked much lately, lol. By the way "Ham" as I call him, is such a show off. He knows he looks good. I am still going back and forth with him and my jungle, they don't seem to be too interested to breed right now. They both shed the same day, which is crazy. I don't think she has took.

Dude totally understandable. You know i've got my hands full as well with that last batch that i picked up. I just finished another 7 cager, and still need to build another one. Anyway i don't want to get your post side tracked so when you have a chance give me a call.

Bill

Here are some more pics. Lighting is my biggest problem with these pictures. I will get some better pictures soon.

Sorry 'bout that Jeremy. I figured it was something I could do myself since I was too lazy to build it myself. :)

Thanks Bill. I will definately look into that. I used some under counter lights fro my 3 cage unit and them darn lights get hot. Shoulda paid more attention that they were halogen.

I will get more recent pictures soon and maybe even better quality. I had only placed 2 snakes in the enclosure at this time and still don't have the lower rack ready.

Wow Jeremy, that's nice! I wanna do something like for my keeper/ breeders and then have racks for my growers. Nice setup!

Wow very nice Jeremy!! I'm loving the hiding area.

The seem to like it also. If I would have thought it through a little better I would have installed the heat panels behind it. But once I attached it and stained it I didn't want to mess it up so I put them on the side with the door. I will be building another one and selling this one soon. I am going to expand it and add shelves.
