    =====================

    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
    Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

    And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

So about 4-6 weeks ago I lost my albino male named White Boy. I tore apart my room looking for him for several days before I called it quits and figured he must've somehow gotten into the radiator system and burned to death. I was depressed and very PO'ed at myself for causing his death.

Well, turns out he's not dead! At 2am this morning I heard some things moving around and then a huge bump and crash! Got up, turned the lights on and he's draped over the box I keep my snake bedding in staring at me with a dead dried moth stuck to the side of his head. It was kinda comical. I have no clue where he came from, I haven't heard him at all during the last month he's been missing

Now to the "HELP!" part. He looks- and smells- horribly. Very dehydrated and sunken in, has a few damaged scales, a damaged eyecap and his belly is pink. There is a chance the pink belly could be due to an impending shed, i'll have to wait and see. Naturally the first thing my panicked mind thought of was 'get him in water dummy!" so I gave him a luke warm bath. He drank for a good 7-10 minutes. At one point I thought he had died during drinking because he froze completely still with his head sideways in the water and stopped all movement- that includes breathing!- until I poked him and picked him up. Then he came out of it and dashed back in the water.

After he was done drinking he spit some water up and started wheezing. Does this mean he has an RI? I don't hear him wheezing anymore though. Maybe it's because I picked him up and forced some water back up? Should I take him to my vet? It's Sunday so I cant call my vet until tomorrow though. I feel so horrible! Poor guy! Pics to come in the AM, he's understandably a bit stressed right now.

the fact that hes moving around and drinking is good. sometimes my bps will spit up water after drinking like that especially if they get pissed off at me moving them or something...on top of that the few times ive had escapees they tend to feral out on me for a bit and be in a generally poor temperament. if its an r.i. stick your ear close to enclosure and listen should be able to hear the wheezing in the breathing ect and look for bubbles and such. cant hurt to have the vet look at it but i would expect it to recover from what youve described...good luck

He's actually recovered nicely. He ate on Monday and is back to his normal self! Thanks!

If anything i would imagine that his eyes were a lot bigger than his stomach when it came to spitting up water. Kind of like the way when people find a starving dog, they monitor his intake otherwise he will eat until he throws up.

Either way! Its wonderful to know your boy is getting better!

It's interesting that he ate because I could never get him to eat before he disappeared. Perhaps he's decided captivity isn't to bad after all lol!

Here's some pics now that he's more chilled out. The first one is of his damaged eye (way more easily seen in person!), second is the damaged scales on his back, third is one of the 5 or so discolored/damaged areas on his belly. The fourth one is just him in all his shiny glory!

Here are two other ones of his eye. Also forgot to mention he lost at least 100g while he was missing. Should I be concerned about the weight loss?
