    =====================

    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
    Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

    And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

John over at Layne Labs is really a good guy, and who you want to do business with. Lets set aside that their rodents are packaged nicer than any other rodent supply. Who wants to try and pull frozen rats apart that are all intertwined with others? Lets not talk about the fact that when you buy a certain size, thats what your getting. Kinda frustrating when you thaw out a large rat for a big breeder female and realize that half the bag is really large mediums that she might want two. Leave alone that you get your product when you are promised it, and notified along the way on its process. Lets just focus on customer service........when you call up there before even knowing if your ordering $20 or $2000, you get treated great. If you have questions, John answers them and gives you advice. How many places really give you the time of day and not just take your order and get you along? It is more than a business to these guys, they help you out and really care about your success. You really can't lose with these guys. Give them a shot next time you need frozen rodents and you wont be sorry.

Agreed!

I've only used their website to order, so I haven't had the privilege of speaking to anyone directly, but I am a very happy repeat customer.

The quality of their feeders is simply outstanding, and I agree that they are packaged and shipped with great care and skill. I give Layne Labs my highest recommendation.

Thanks,

David

I just made my first order from them. I've never ordered mice online before so I wasn't totally sure what to expect.

The prices were good, shipping was fairly quick, and the mice seem to be good quality. I ordered large pinkies and there was a slight amount of variation in the size (a few of them were really tiny), but overall, they were consistent in size. I also LOVED that they were all separate in the bag, not frozen together in a lump.

I'll definitely be ordering from them again.

I ordered from them last year, and everything went really well.
I have ordered from two other suppliers in the past, but was never all that happy. The orders would take weeks to ship (sometimes weeks to get an order placed!) and many times I was forced to place several orders to get the sizes I needed. I hated paying for shipping on two orders just because the supplier was out of a size and refused to hold the rest of the order until they had the size I needed. With Layne Labs I got to place the order I wanted, wasn't pressured into buying more to fill up more space in the box, got the order in less than a week, and they even called me to let me know when my order had shipped. I really hope they keep this up!

I also recommend LL!
The product is great quality, the shipping time frame is fabulous, & if there is a problem with the order, they fix it!

I just bought another $1000 from them at the Pomona show this weekend and once again.......smooth, easy, great product. I know it sounds really stupid but its nice getting a dry soft furred frozen rat over stiff bloody furred ones any day.

I also purchase from Layne Labs. I saw them at the Pomona show as well and even though I didn't buy a thousand bucks worth (wow), they were still very helpful with my small order. I really love the quality of their product.

just to refresh this one with some more positive feedback.........I just bought another big order from John and we picked it up at the Pamona show. We hadn't realized it because my partner picked them up and when he brought them to me I had partaken in one or twelve too many adult beverages. He put them away and life was good. I got a call from John that we had left a box there. These guys have a big show going on and still stopped to call and let us know we had more and made sure to get it to us. Most people would have just put them back in their freezers. These guys are the best, have no viruses and not being shut down for unhealthy conditions. No offense but, if your not buying from them your just......well.....not smart!

I bought 200 mice from them last month and couldn't be happier with the whole process, and the mice. Will definitely order from Layne again soon.

I ordered from them a few months back, there was a delay (but I knew about it before ordering because they posted it all over the website, and was perfectly fine with it, so the delay wasn't a bad thing), I got everything I ordered in nice condition. The price was reasonable and the mice came the day they told me the mice would, got to give them a :thumbsup:

I just received my first order from Layne Labs. It was a combination of mice and rats totaling nearly 200 in count. The packaging and product is the very best I have seen. The mice and rats are pristine, clean, robust, and have very little feces. To ship out to PA, they are more expensive than other options I have used, but I find the extra cost to be worth it. I will use them again because I don't mind spending a little extra to get something that is superior quality.

My normal supplier was out of some sizes so I decided to give Layne Labs a shot and placed a large order. Very pleased with the rodents, these are some of the cleanest feeders I've ever seen! Only thing that would have been better is if they were vacuum packed but I really have no complaints, pretty fast shipping, nice packaging and good sizes across all the types I purchased. I am considering making them my new 'normal' supplier. Very happy!

I have used Layne Labs in the past, and I have to agree they were the cleanest I have ever used (coming from RP and Mice Direct at the time). I'd love to be able to give them a try again, but shipping rates just can not fall into a completive slot. But for those it can, highly recommend them.

Getting frozen feeders shipped to AK can be a nightmare because of where the producers tend to be located. They were willing to find a work around for shipping to my area. So glad to find a quality source on the West Coast! Their feeders are excellent and the animals themselves obviously healthy and well cared for (my snake doesn't care but as a soft-hearted person it matters to me) :hurray:
