    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

He imported them from the person who imported them from Australia. Do you know when the last time Australia exported anything? Take a look at the animals in the ad as well. Compare them to every other captive bred Bearded you've ever seen. They look wild caught to me...

Buying from a smuggler and then posting that you've done so on an ad to sell those same animals shows the level of brain cells he has...

Lastly, even if he does have them I highly doubt you'd get healthy lizards. Of course, you'd have to get them at all to see if they were healthy, and I doubt you'd even get that far with him after you paid him.

I'm very aware of Australian laws. I keep and breed lace monitors. They don't look wild caught to me. They look like every CBB Barbata that I've seen.

I haven't read this thread in it's entirety but I've bought about $8k worth of animals from Garrett and haven't had any issues. That's just my experience.

And yes, those females look WC to me....

I think if you, in all fairness, alert Garrett of this thread, he will gladly post all documentation proving the animals in question are legal. :time_waiting_01:
 
The terrible thing is that if Garrett actually has legal pairs of unrelated Australian frilleds for sale I'd never send him money just because of what he's done to so many others.

I sent him a message when I first saw his ad just to test the waters. Once I told him that I would pick them up in person he said they were all sold.

Had it been anyone else offering those animals I would have bought all 4 pairs.
 
Where are the ads? Do they say "sold"? If they are actually sold, I'm sure the buyer will be posting what a great experience they had. :time_waiting_01:

He is posting them on kingsnake. Yeah, it would be awesome to see whoever bought all four of those pairs post some great pictures of them and give credit to Garrett for being a stand-up guy....

Somehow I think I'll be holding my breath for a while.

Thats not how it went down AT ALL....But nice try. This is another guy who wanted what I had for sale, responded late after I had a transaction in progress and now is throwing a hissy fit. Chris Proctor went from 0-60 in 2 seconds. I don't need to sell things that bad. I placed the add at 9:52am a deal was pending around 10am but I was out with family. Chris inquired about the animals at 8:49pm

No I can't answer that question OFF THE TOP OF MY HEAD....but I can look it up in 2 minutes. The 2016 report is not in yet but to answer your EXACT question from above it looks like in 2015 CITES II a pair of Cebus capucinus Mammalia Primates Cebidae Cebus US AU US" were legally exported out of Australia. Since this is a reptile site it looks like in "2014 8 CITES II Morelia carinata Reptilia Serpentes Pythonidae Morelia US AU were LEAGLY exported from Australia to the US. but you Chris Proctor knowing everything I'm sure you already have this information. LOL

Just so were are clear. The OP is interested in buying some reptiles from me and we are working on some other things together, friends on Facebook etc.

This is the second guy that wanted something from me....responded late and through a hissy fit. Patrick Sterling "dieselfan" did the same thing. I posted some rare geckos for sale. He responded after they were sold and through a hissy fit. This was over a year ago...He still to this day leaves me negative karma with vulgar language on every post that I post I think he's up to 30+ negative karma's. He has even crank calls my house. I wouldn't even expect this behavior from a 10 year old child let alone someone thats 30+ years old. Luckily Ive only came across a few people suffering from chronic mental disorder with abnormal or violent social behavior. I don't really know how to politely say it but you snooze you lose or first come first serve. I don't really need to sell anything that bad. If I get a bad vibe from you I might tell you that animals are sold,spoken for, or someones interested in etc. These guys were spoken for...but if they were not after a few e-mail with Chris Proctor they were going to be.

I have stoped/slowed posting on this site due to the harassment/bulling thats aloud on it. Its more time consuming than anything plus KS and FB work great with out all the BS

I don't know if he is at it again or not, but if he has paid everyone he ripped off for over 20K, let me clarify ripped off, he promised good folks rare animals they were NEVER going to receive, taking the money for said rare animals, and using it for what ever he used it for,(for well over a year) because in all actuality, he NEVER knew anyone to get said rare animals from to begin with. (A typical reptile Poncy Scheme)

IMO, what this boiled down to, he lied, & took over 20K from several different sources, (people) and used it for well over a year, and only paid back the initial 20K plus, NO INTEREST....(If he paid them back, no one has come forward and stated they were paid back in full?)

Now he's still skating around advertising here, on KS, and farcebook, like nothing happened, and if true, selling animals to those he RIPPED OFF. A snippet of his ad from here on Fauna for Thomasi Uromastyx, I cut and pasted:

Oh this is too funny. Garrett is somehow now the victim of the "fauna bullies". Pfft!! Anyone reading this can look on my wall and see the BS Garrett posted last year and for record you had not sold those animals during my inquirey, you started stumbling over your own words after being called out on the bogus information that YOU presented. For some reason you could not remember if your rare, high end animals were WC or CBB.

The important part about Garrett Smith is that he makes promises that he cant keep, takes peoples money, does not deliver, and will flat steal your money all the while telling you that you are stupid, impatient and that you do not understand how importing works! Infact he STILL owes several people who have replied to this thread thousands of dollars. Garrett used the stolen monies to buy "high end" iguanas which he thought he could buy and flip and then refund the customers he screwed. As it turns out no one wants to buy anything from Garrett and he is still to this day trying to sell/trade them! The real knee slapper is the only people who came forward to defend him were scammers and smugglers as well. Minus one guy who posted today. Infact others who were forced to use Garrett as an importer went out of their way to hide having done business with him.

Garrett I love pounding you with negative karma everytime you post on this site. After your 11pm phone calls to my phone and you threatening me for over a year your lucky I did not swing by your house this summer while I was out in California visiting family. Hopefully potential customers see that line of red squares next to your name and they think twice and or do a BOI search. BTW I never crank called your home.
