    =====================

I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yes Kelli,

I have been emailing Alberto about this, but he claims they are different. He says they look the same, because they both came from the Carrot Head Jungle Giant Albinos.

I think It's BS. I think they are the same!!!

I know I wont buy anything from Ron Tremper, because of his customer service and the whole GIANT thing.

Matt

We have Rons nice confident website stating about Gaints being recessive then 2 years later what happens? Ah I have no idea why he thinks his are different. Come on guys you breed your best albinos to eahc other and thier offspring for a few years and your saying its a new morp, that sounds to me liek some ones not thinking your producing something purely from selective breeding. Its not like your seeing a albino hatch for the first time....

Ah, I agree completely. Just because a trait is inheritable per se, does not make it recessive! For instance, you breed two nice orange hypo tangs (selectively bred HT's, not Hine line) together, you are pretty much going to produce nice orange hypo tang babies. But when you breed one of those nice hypo tangs to a normal, you are not going to get "hets".

Again, this is just my opinion, but I think that the "patternless" trait is a selectively bred trait that Ron worked for several generations to refine. He should be applauded for that, they are beautiful geckos, but I just do not see how the trait can be classified as a true recessive trait.

They sure look the same to me. Oh well, what do I know? I'm just a leopard gecko breeder, I don't know jack squat about marketing.

Yeah Kelli, you don't know JACK!!! Youv'e only been doing this for how many years????? (sarcasm, lol)

Oh I know quite a lot about keeping and breeding! And I do know the difference between selectively bred, recessive and co dominant. But as far as marketing goes, I am not good at that. Sometimes I wish I was!

i believe

that the "hyglo" is nothing more than rons "super tangerine"-line .....i do not know about the patternless ron says his "super-tang"(the hyglo comes from ) is not the same gene as this patternless ! AND he IS or was offering carrotheads het for the trait ... wouldnt be long until the females come , and it could easily be proven-out

What the heck

Is this patternless line he and you speak of, as alreayd brought up those adults aren't patternless. If that whats behind this "new" morph where did it come from? I guess why that little one look so different, I not for a second take Rons word for it. There so much that needs to be done and maybe he has done soem but he list no proff to back him up.
Xavier

ok...

I'm calling BS...Ron pick up the WHOLE deck of cards now.

Who here is willing to GIVE (Donate) me at least trios of every current morph? I think it's time to begin working on my undergrad/master/PhD thesis! It's high time the leopard gecko community starts getting answers about what genes are doing what, instead of all you SHEEP (BAHHHH) following what Ron says.

I'm not even going to BEGIN trying to re-convey genetics. You people on here need to go back and RE-READ my genetics posts and get a freaking basic understanding. Ron has no clue....2 years ago giants are recessive and now suddenly they are co-dominant?! If they are co-dominant, that would explain his claim to super giants (quick get a back hoe, the feces are piling up and fast), but it doesn't explain why you breeders out there don't have any super giants from your giants. You've been had, welcome back to 1999 and the browning of tremper albinos all over again.

Get a clue....

Chris

you guys remember the rainbow leos....

APTOR....

<font size=8> APTOR = Rainbow X Tremper Albino</font>

Ron's "patternless" is his selectively bred form of hypos. All his patternless are are reduced pattern leos. As Kelli pointed out, you breed 2 hypos to one another you'll get some hypo looking babies, some better than mom and pops, other not. It's called a SELECTIVELY BRED mutation or, GASP, POLYGENIC. OH....MY...GAWD, like Chris just said polygenic?! Quick, someone search for my genetics posts on the giants and find where I talk about height (length in the case of leos) and how it's MULTIPLE genes (uh oh...here it comes again...ahhhhhh a.k.a POLYGENIC).

I hate it when I'm right. I'm not going for a biology major with emphasis on genetic for NOTHING you guys, c'mon!

Chris

Thanks for that post Chris, you deffinitely know what's up......... However, there is something going on with the Giants. All of the ones I have that are supposed "Giants", grow way faster than the others........... So, any clue as to what that's all about?

I do agree with you though!!

Matt

im not sure

why to call those patternless but he says many are just pure orange like the little one , and it came out of the designers (jungle /stripe/ reverse-stripe) that is pretty obvious on some of them ! im not so sure what to beleive just stating what i was told when i asked ! could be multi-homozygous, xavier showing carrothead /tail , albino , reverse/jungle/ or striped(poss. polygenic NOT recessive or dom. ) , as well as patternless ! my jungle (darker) pictured is also striped UNDER the jungle pattern there are two more white lines closer to his side that you cant see in the pic , my female is jungle but is partially striped (pattern points in at the center , and i fully expect to see stripe or reverse stripe from breeding these two ! alberto has a striped that is also banded (somehow) on his page ..... i know ron has and will be again selling a 16 X Multi "het" gecko ! now that would be some proof !

they are giants

thats whats up with that !!! lol there are supposed to be 3 forms of a co-dom trait , so im pretty sure there are "supers" and moose is definately one of them ! my pair are not even 7 months old and the male is 92 grams today and the female 75 g.

3 names for a type of albino!

This is actually funny! Sunglow,Hyglo,APTOR! They are all the same thing! It was actually very predictable they would be comming along! Progression of the morphs has been very predictable! The whole "Giant" thing was never answered or worked out . I have yet to have seen another animal anywhere even close to MOOSE! Definetely not simple recessive! Something going on? Oh sure, but so is dark spots on Blizzards or little dwarf pastels or super Bright splotches of orange on Tangerine geckos! This boils down to Marketing and actually I guess looking at the number of available APTORs really good marketing at that! What I think is funny is not what exactly these geckos are technically or what genes produced them. Whats funny is how certain breeders can't give credit to anyone but THEMSELVES! The whole thing is Ridiculous! Hummmmmm! Now thats a new thread. The politics involved in the Market place!!! Now thats a can of WORMS!!!!

;)

Hey, don't bring my "dalmations" into this! They're just innocent bystanders!
LOL!
7spottyblizzards-med.jpg

OHHHHHHHH Keli -I love your Dalmations!!
:)
Sandy

personally i think it is a super hypo albino stripe, period. now as far as stripes not being recessive... my line sure is and so is kellis and if i recall ron himself has said in the past that stripe were a recessive trait... chris and kelli im right there with ya... too much has happened and things change as he see's fit
as far as the giants i still think it is line bred and it also has something to do with the subspecies montanus (i think thats the larger subspecies)or even and its not wuite a stretch for it to even be e. angramainyu... thrown in the mix somewhere down the line

i got some ocean front property in arizona.. beatiful cliffs overlooks a quite tranquil sea.... the smell of that sea air in the morning and the sunset falling beautifully into the sea....
got any buyers?

and sheesh kelli those arent dalmations they are paradox blizzards... oh wait thats right you call em dalmations and i will call mine paradox blizzards.... and ummm they ARE different ... i promise!

I think this whole thing is just crap. I like everyone else pointed out he has no understanding of genetics.

For 2 years he claimed the Giant trait was simple reccesive. Now it's co dominate. Not dominate but co dominate. So if thats the case where are all the super giants at? Well none of you sound like you have any so I wonder where he hides them. He claims he breeds giant to giant to produce them. So If it's co dominate and both of those lets say only were carrying one gene for Giant then 25% would still be normal sized geckos 50% would be Giant and then the other mysterious 25% would be .....SUPER GIANT. So where are they at?

At BEST this is a dominate trait. Most likely it's it's just a selectivly breed trait.

Now I understand many of you may say well if you don't agree why did you buy a giant? Well it was the same price as the normal sized version and maybe, just maybe I'm really wrong :D

Oh and bye the way why in the world would you sell a Giant for the price of a normal anyway?! It's a genetic Giant according to him, isn't that worth more money?

My vote with many others is that this new APTOR or what ever it's called is just a selectivly breed trait.

Sorry, but I don't have any " Las Vegas " albinos, just Rainwaters. Since the term " hybino " was coined first and is pretty descriptive, can't we just stick with that? I know what the "hy" is but what's the "glo"? (nowadays there are all kinds of glowing colors in our animals). After 30 years of breeding orchids and doing shows I've seen many species names changed by the feuding taxonomists crying to be heard. Then you get some nosepicker with five plants walking up at a show and saying "You know, you've labeled that plant wrong - it's very misleading." Next thing you know, you're debating which morph is which when you could be out cleaning and feeding.......... HEY, wait a minute !!!
