    =====================

    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
    Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

    And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

Ali from Animal Plastics(great service)

Just want to add my thumbs up for Ali. The guy is awesome when it comes to customer service. I ordered a rack and it came in without casters since they were back ordered. Ali kindly refunded the cash for the casters, then shipped them fedex 2 day to me at no charge when they did come in. It's not a lot of money, but when they're willing to treat even the little guy this good.. They've gained my business for life. Getting ready to order some more cages right now. :thumbsup:

I have to through a thumbs up to Mark also.
I got another order of cages from them the day before Thanksgiving and I got an 8 footer and a couple stands along with the 6 and 4 footers.
The 8 footer came with a couple pieces that the smaller cages don't have and the parts to the stands kind of confused me to because I had never got one of those before.
I must have talked to Mark 3 or 4 times that night with questions and he was quick to answer every question and never once got annoyed at the multiple calls.
Great guy I look forward to next years cage purchase.

I've said before that I'm very happy with my AP racks, and that Ali rocks...but you obviously placed your order online, lol. Ali definitely doesn't sound like a guy! :rofl:

Yes, I did. I'll have to share this with her, see if she gets a good laugh out of it. :rofl: Thanks for letting me know!

What is there back log for orders right now? Is it still 6 weeks?

Anyone heard anything about the redesign for the economy racks? The replacement tubs Sterilite put out aren't kosher as there is a gap once you remove the stupid latches.

I just ordered an economy rack about 2 months ago? After I placed the order, Ali called me to inform me of the problem with finding the Sterilite tubs, and find out if I had tubs already. Since I didn't, she said they could make the rack for Rubbermaid tubs (2221 and 2222 I think?). Worked out perfectly. I ordered the tubs, got the rack in, everything fit like I charm.

I have to say I really love the recess for the heat tape as well, for belly heat. I'm fixing to order a regular rack next with back heat and try that out.

Kudos to AP!

Just got an economy a few days ago. It took about five weeks. I already had the 1756 tubs. I tried a new 32qt. tub, with the handles, from target in the rack. And it fits good. The gap that is present with the handles removed is to small for the size snakes that you would put in a 32qt tub to escape.

They have more sizes then the just the 15qt/32qt sterilite EP rack. I have a 6qt sitting here that any gap in the tub would not work. I wanted to buy a 2nd one, but I guess I'll have to sell this one and buy two new ones as my tubs have to match. I really wish I'd known before I made the purchase that sterilite was discontinuing all of these tubs. I wouldn't have bought the 6qt that fits those tubs.

Steph,
Ali told me the 1851 tubs fit perfectly...those are the ones sold at WalMart. They aren't exact matches, but they are interchangeble (unless you are using lids).

Nope, no lids for me! I have to run out to Walmart today anyway, so I'll look for one. Are they sterilite? They aren't the cheap-o easy to break ones are they?

Yes, they're Sterilite....And I've been using them for years and only broken a couple of them. Don't blame the boxes, though, they weren't built to withstand me stepping on them.
I was pretty happy to hear that they fit the old (1752) rack because I have about 150 of them in the basement & and want to replace my melamine hatchling rack next year.
(let me know how they fit)

I actually went to a super walmart and found 35 of the 1752. There are still some of the old style tubs floating around, just have to look everywhere. LOL

The 1851's fit just as good as the 1752's and they're $1.50 cheaper. :)
Now what to do about the 1754's and 1756's... ;)

Thats good info, I will have to pick up some of those as well. My 1752's were only a $1 each, does that mean they will pay me $.50 a piece to take home the 1851's? :rofl:

Yeah, the 1752's dropped in price when they discontinued them. I bought mine when they weren't discontinued (like 2 months before) and they were roughly $2.50 a piece.

Does anyone know anything that will seal ap cages? I love them but I hate how the urine seeps through and you dont really notice it until you ahve to move the cages

I bought a AP rack and love it. customer service was great and everything went smooth. I would give them a 10 out of 10 if I had to rate them if it wasnt for the longer then expected time from between when I ordered them and when I received them.
I think around the 6th week I got notified of discontiued tub size so they designed a new rack for me and that took an extra week. Then I was told it wasnt shipped because they were waiting for heat cable. And that took another week before I got my rack. Not sure why you wouldnt have extra cable in shop when this AP I am sure is selling tons of racks cause of how well constructed they are.
Dont get me wrong. I am not ranting on this company. There racks are awesome and very well constructed and everything is a perfect fit. Just would love a faster turn around time. Because sometimes you just cant plan that far in advance when you might get the urge to buy that reptile you just cant hold off on. = )
