    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

I think it's safe to say most of us understand where you are coming from Clarence. A lot of people that have been done right by him have his back... but people change and debt can do devastating things to a peron. That's why most people with debt problems can't get security clearances. I've been working all day trying to make contact with him.

Thank You I even have Adam's back. I belive I made that more than clear within post's Ive posted in this thread. That Im not out to get Adam nor make him out to be a Bad Guy.
Like I said before I have made several purchase's from Adam I still have one of the animals in my collection the other I sold one passed away a month after having it.
The other deals went smoothly I couldn't be happier with them
But its the lack of Communication on Adams part the reason Im here

I emailed and called him a few days after having her ( 4 days at the most )
to inform him I was worried about her as she was moving in odd ways that I haven't seen before and to this date I havent recived nothing in return.. IMO thats worse than reciving a ________ You its done the deals over live with it
at least I got something

I was done right by Adam all together I purchased 3 Bp's from him (Females) at a great price he even throw me an extra bit off since I bought 3 Bp's from him
 
btw - lack of communication isn't a new problem for Adam, it has been mentioned in BOI threads since well before you made your purchase.

That wasn't the point, Clarence. 86-87 is pretty high for a low temperature; or is that the temp of your (their) basking spot?

Unfortunately, you severely contradicted yourself from the very beginning of this thread by putting a BAD GUY label on it when you created it. :rolleyes:

I don't believe a single person here has suggested that Adam is somehow in the right regarding his communication with you....but please show me where he is OBLIGATED to contact you...and please show me how his contacting you might have saved the snake. Yes, going on matters of simple human courtesy, he should have returned your calls or e-mails at least once.....but going strictly by pure business matters, he has no obligation to follow up on an animal that is no longer his responsibility. NOT a good way to conduct business even so....but as has already been pointed out, he's already out of the business, for all intents and purposes....so this whole thread is moot.

And I agree...your "cool" temps are way too warm...they should be closer to 80-82.

It still amazes me how this BOI works sometimes. I really dont know why Adam is even being defended at all. If this was not adam, but instead a "no body" some of you would be singing a different tune. Adams is digging his own grave by not answering this board or anything else for that matter. Oh and No he isnt OBLIGATED to do anything, but I sure wouldnt ever buy from someone with that attitude. Basically what you said was, after an animal is sold, even if there is a problem, the seller is not responsible for any problems regarding the purchase and shouldnt have to reply to anything.:confused:

My point is that this whole discussion seems pointless. If the OP had ordered a snake shipped and it came out of the box spinning....then I'd be singing a whole different tune...I don't care who he bought it from. But he hand-picked an animal at a show...saw it when he bought it...was happy with it when he bought it...and it wasn't until several days later that symptoms began to show. So for whatever reason (and I'm not justifying them or condoning them) Adam decided he had more important things to do than worry about a snake he had no more responsibility for. Bad business decision? YES. Discourteous? Yes. Worthy of a BOI "Bad Guy" label? I don't think so. But that's my personal opinion and you're entitled to yours.

I agree that it probably shouldnt have been labeled as a "bad Guy" thread, but considering he has done wrong to other people(at least in the past year or so), I dont think it really matters. Yes, He did buy it from a show, but comon, sometimes you cant see the underlying problems until later. Not saying it had problems at the show, but the fact is the guy contacted adam for help. Just like the Op in the other thread contacted adam for his money that he still hasnt recieved. Apparently everyone, except people buying at shows, is unimportant to adam.
 
I really don't think this is a "mute" thread. It shows how Adam conducts business which from the way it appears is poor. Who is to say in 2 years Adam gets back on his feet or has a change of heart and decides to breed and sell reptiles again I think this thread is a reminder to how he has conducted business in the past.
 
I believe that if your going to sell any product you need to have a good customer support attitude! That doesn't mean giving the customer everything they want, but you should not and cannot ignore your customers!!! By not giving a response you open yourself to negative words and feelings to be expressed!! The question is would we all be reading this thread if Adam responded to his unhappy customer? Maybe or maybe not! On thing would be sure silence leaves doubt for the customer and for any readers of this thread!
 
I'm still reelin off the op's temps?? That would have a baby bp on a downward spiral in a heartbeat?? Snakes need a real hot spot; I'm talkin warm to the human touch?? Call it as you see fit; but I'm talkin pancake warm; through and thru!! Lol..

The BOI is SUPPOSED to work on the basis of PROOF. And so far, the OP has provided ZERO proof of anything.

If you don't understand why people are "defending" Adam, I don't understand why people AREN'T asking the OP more hard questions. Like:

Can he show a reciept that he bought a BP from Adam?

Does he have any proof that he tried to call Adam?

How about posting the emails he tried sending Adam?

How about ANYTHING that proves any part of the OP's story is legitimate?


By your standards Mark, I could post a thread about the IBD infected animal you sold me, and that's all the proof anyone would need to label you a bad guy.

I'm sure I don't need to say this, Erin, but that was probably a poor way to make your point...too many people take statements at face value, and seeing IBD associated with a name tends to trigger something that shuts down reasonable thought processes and reading comprehension.

You're right, I could have phrased that better.

Let me be perfectly clear to everyone who reads this thread.

I have never bought an animal from Mark, let alone one with IBD, and, to the best of my knowledge, he has never had a case of IBD in his collection.

I think you are missing my point here. It would be great if the op posted proof, but adams absence here is proof enough for me and we all know he knows about both threads. Also he never responded to the other bad guy thread that was about him. I dont know why you are still bringing up the IBD, because it actually have NOTHING to do with the OP's original post. Oh and You could easily start a thread about me selling you bad animals, but unlike adam I will gladly come and defend my name and tell my side of the story(if there was one). Do you see my point?
