    =====================

I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

If you sell a gravid snake and part of the deal is a pr of the offspring when it is born at what point should you expect to recieve your pr of babies.

Don't be suprised when this gets deleted. You have to have a name in the heading.

Why 4 weeks. What does 4 weeks have to do with it.Lets say you wait 4 weeks and the person lets them all die but 1 pr and you agreed on a pr when born then you should still get the pr as that was the deal Right

OMG man..........depends on species, i was just saying in general...dam

should wait for them to shed out a couple of times and make sure they r eating......sooooo 4 wks is usually a good indicator if they r eating and have shed........what, u want a whole technical manual on every species??!!

Forget that I was just tying to be helpful to u............wont do it again!

No you were very helpful .I recently got into this situation and have herd nothing.I would of been happy to feed them myself get them started.I was just wanting to know what other people thought.I do not know if any has died. The way I would do it is as soon as they were born I would say come get your babies unless you requested I feed them. That is how every one I know does it .I have good experience in this species and simmular species and would have no problem feeding them.I know how to get them started. When they were born I wanted them then.I was told to wait until they got them feeding not my choice at all. They were haveing trouble getting them started and I consulted them now I hear nothing at all.Truth is I feel like I should of had the choice as it was me who put all the work in and cycled them and bred them and was forced to sell them 5 months in to the preg.I would of never sold them with out the word of the buyer to give me babies period. It was the strongest point in the deal for me .

Hey Archie,

Apparently those details of the transaction were not discussed prior to any shipping right. What I would suggest is to let them know that you will take the pr as-is and now. Tell them you would prefer to get them started versus having them do it. Although, this might be too late from the way it sounds. But, for next time, you will know more of what to hammer out before the deal is finalized. Make sense?

If you are putting all the work into breeding the snake, why sell her gravid in the first place? Seems like the whole situation could have VERY easily been avoided... Why not just hatch the eggs, keep the pair you want to keep, and go from there... Of course you can't go back in time now, so I suppose it depends completely on the buyer as to how this situation resolves itself.

First, let me premise this with the fact that I wasn't the one that left you a negative. I did take a moment to look at who did and the comments that were left because it upset you so much to derail the topic of this thread.

The message left was "calm down". While I wouldn't have left you a negative for your post, I agree with the comment.

The OP asked a question -

If you sell a gravid snake and part of the deal is a pr of the offspring when it is born at what point should you expect to recieve your pr of babies.

You answered -

depends on species but id say about 4 weeks as a general rule after hatching/birth

He asked another question. Nothing insulting. He is just trying to get clarification on what you mean.

Your response was over the top. The man simply was asking why you stated four weeks. Instead of just telling him why, for some reason you took it as offensive. Have no clue why you would but you flew off the handle with no visible reasoning in this thread.

So someone gave you a negative. Big deal! Don't be so sensitive. It has nothing to do with this topic. If It upset me that much every time someone disagreed with me, I would never post anything, anywhere.

Anyways, this side topic is better suited off this thread.

I have no idea what you are talking about I GAVE YOU NO BAD KARMA I GAVE YOU AN APOLOGY WHAT IS IT WITH THIS ATTITUDE

Ok, aside from all the drama--the original question.

I would expect to receive the hatchlings when they are reasonably well established--that is, they're well-established enough to be sold. For ball pythons (for example), this would be 3 or 4 weeks after they hatch. Enough time to go through their first shed, start eating, and eat 3 times on their own without issue. I would not expect them to be handed over the moment they pop out of the egg--there's no reason to risk a hatchling's health by putting it through an ordeal so soon.

But that should have been discussed beforehand--those sorts of deals really need to be put in writing in detail.

If I sold a gravid female with the deal being I get 2 of the offspring, I would want healthy offspring. If none of the offspring survive, I would expect the new owner to explain what happened. I would hope that this possibility had been worked out beforehand--if it hasn't been, there may be trouble deciding the right course of action. If the deal is simply for 2 offspring from that female, then better luck next year--it if was 2 offspring specifically from that clutch, then perhaps the seller loses out, as well as the buyer.

I sold them as I needed the money.I said to the person I wanted a pr of the babies he hatched no eggs LIVE BIRTH.These details were made clear before the sale and talked about period.I just want my babies is all I want and it seems like a bad deal if this is the case it will go on BOI very soon names details everything.I would of sold another animal instead of these and wish I had.But it was made clear I would get babies so I did it .The way I see it is if only 2 live they would be mine as that was the deal not mabie .I made a bad mistake it looks like and it will not happen ever again lesson learned.

I didnt say either of u 2 put the bad karma on me..........sorry I didnt make that clear...my bad.
I was speaking to who ever did though......
And yea, u did apologies and I told u no worries......as in "we're cool" as far as im concerned and that i took your original response a bit to much....again, my bad.

If they are livebearers, I would still expect to receive them after they were established. I understand there can be risks in moving a gravid female livebearer--stillbirths are a possibility, there.

I agree that if the deal was you would get 2 of the offspring, then you should receive 2 even if there are only two. Or one, if there is only one. There is still the question of whether you were to get 2 offspring from the female, period, or 2 specifically from that pregnancy.
It does not matter if they're born or hatched, answer is the same.

Archie,

I am in agreement with Donna as well. I have a few trade deals going on in which I have been paid for in advance. The difference is, I stated at what point that they would receive their babies. I made sure that the people I have done trades with knew that I would make sure that they were fully started as well as even wouldnt ship them until I certain weight range. For me, I did this because I didnt want it to come back and bite me.

Had I made a trade deal with you though, I would have made sure that I knew ahead of time when you wanted them. The person you are in the middle of a deal with might not have known this beforehand and that is where your issue could lie. Hopefully, you do not have to make a BOI bad guy thread about them.

Just my .02

Thank you I would of preferred to establish the babies myself tho.Thank you every one for answering and I am letting this get to me to much Thanks every one

I told them I was ready when they were born .At that point he would of been finished with me period.
