    =====================

    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
    Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

    And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

I guess I'm the new guy around here so I'll start but I'd like to get a feel for who's here and what you're interests are.

My name is Sean, I'm 31 and from Cody, Wy. I'm married (Betty) and we have an 11 year old daughter (Kya). I've been into herps since I was about 12 and have kept and bred several species from large boids to beardies. In 95 we went "pro" forming Heart Mountain Herps and currently, like a lot of people, are focussing mainly on the ball market with a couple of backup projects.

If there is 1 thing I love more than the herps though it's got to be photography. I am a working professional studio photographer and have been for a little over 10 years now.

I guess I should mention I'm the mod here. I have been registered on this site for a while but to be honest I have mainly used it for the BOI and a little buying/selling. I'll try to check in daily, I don't have any exhibit/gallery openings planned anytime soon but I do have a couple potential book projects that may happen this summer that will require some field work (I'll post something if I'll be out of town for more than a couple days). Rules will be loosely enforced, I've been coming here for a few years now and I don't think I've ever even read them so just use common sense and you won't have any problems from me. I really don't care what you post or even that it's necessarily 'on topic' for now.

I would like some input, on anything actually but more specific on what you would like to see here if anything. I was thinking maybe writing some tutorials, maybe start with some easy stuff like monitor calibration or color correcting for accuracy or ???any ideas??? I'd also be willing to do photo critiques but if you ask for one let everyone know how in depth you want it. I'll tell you now I'm total crap when it comes to video but if it's still camera (any format, traditional or digital) or darkroom/photoshop related I'll see what I can do.

Anyway, enough babbling from me.

Sean

Hi, my name is Tyson Kevin Tyler Hansen(but i go by Kevin) and im 16. I currently have 10 reptiles, a dgo, a cat, and a frog and i go to highschool. Its boring. I've only owned bearded dragons for 2 years and i have my first 10 eggs in the incubator now.

I enjoy doing anything anyone else is scarred to do. I have he deepest desire to go sky diving (stupid 18 or older rule), i've gone scuba diving, been in a shark cage, parasailing, held a venemous snake (that one was something i really wanted to do) and have jumped of the second story of my old highschool onto a trampoline. Im not too bright,lol, but amazingly have never broken anything.

Photography is one of my favorite things to do. Ever since the age of 5 i have been in photo classes, i took one last year that involved developing B&W pictures in a dark room and it was amzingly fun. i have worked for my school newspaper as the photographer and have had photos submitted in my local paper. im currently entered in a Tree photo contest (yes i said tree, VA is a weird state. im still waiting for an oxygen bar) and thats about me. here is a sample of my photography.mostly i shoot nature.

Hi everybody

I discovered this site while seeking information on leopard gecko care (I recently rescued a couple of them that needed lots of TLC) and I just fell in love with the adorable little guys. I used to rehab all sorts of animals as a teen, but over the years family life and kids took over and I wasn't able to continue. Now that my youngest is 16, it's time for me to enjoy that part of my life again!

My name is Sue Beatrice. I'm 44, female, and a professional sculptor. Most of my work is commercial (such as the Travelocity Gnome) but I'm beginning to create bronze fountains for gardens.

About 3 years ago I got really into photography. It helps a great deal with my job, but it has also revealed a wonderful way of looking at life. Macro photography is my favorite, and I am always blown away by the intricate beauty all around us. Here are a few samples (all critter shots are taken in the wild in their natural environments)

I didn't realise that there was a photography site here at this forum until today. I just didn't think to look for one! I don't know how active it is here, but I will be hanging around to see whatsort of threads pop up and what sort of information you cover.
