Well over the last few weeks Wes had made several offers to trade his various snakes for my 2000 Aru GTP that I had listed for sale or trade. I had her listed with a $750 cash or $1500 trade value based on several factors. I initially declined any offers due to the fact that he was a minor child. He then indicated that his brother (who is his partner and an adult) had agreed to a trade and we negotiated from there.

We couldn't agree to anything for a while and then on Tuesday the 13th at 12:18am he text messaged me to say he has a female bee he would trade. We negotiated all day as I felt the bee for the Aru wasn't a fair trade, and I finally made him an offer of the bee who was less than 200 grams and an 09 black blood he had in exchange for the Aru and we each paid our respective shipping. At 7:41pm I explained that the offer was only good til the morning as I had a local gentleman who was going to purchase her and he needed an answer before he put the deposit down on a different snake he was looking at.
At 7:49pm Wes texted me back saying he would take the deal so I called the other gentleman and explained that the deal was going through. He was then paying for the other snake he was interested in from a different seller.

After answering some questions I texted Wes at 8:40pm and asking him to send the tracking info the next day and he replied back ok.

The next day I asked for the tracking info and he replied back at 10:25am that he needed more time to think about this. I expained that I was now out the sale and that if he didn't go through with the trade, I would be sure to let everyone on the BOI know about his practices and tactics. He texted me at 10:49am and said that he wanted more time to think and that he wasn't backing out of the deal. Then he accused me of blackmail for wanting to post this on the BOI.

At 12:15pm I got a text from his brother and business partner, Caleb Head CSJ2010. He said that Wes alerted him of the trade 30 min prior and that after discussion they have decided that they don't want to do the trade. I explained what his brother represented to me and that I was going to post this to the BOI. Here is the response I got:

"He did not notify me of the trade until a little while ago. You can post if you feel the need but you made the decision to forego any other offers. Quite frankly the trade was not equal and I feel that you were trying to take advantage. I am sorry for your frustration and a minor quabble such as this is an annoyance on the BOI forum. Feel free to post but it will not accomplish much"

I then got another text from a local person who knows Wes through some interactions on another forum that says:

"Alanna's gonna write S**T about me because I backed out of trading my bumblebee and black blood for her Aru. You need to tell her to grow up and not waste my time".

Well, I am not saying whether Wes or his brother Caleb are good or bad guys, but I certainly feel everyone needs to be aware of this situation so that you don't find yourself in the same situation. Not only did I waste my time with this child and his brother, but I also lost the local sale. Additionally, I found out that Wes had literally the day before gotten in the bee on a different trade.

I personally will never do business like this again.

There is not a doubt in my mind that you have given us the truth. I can completely understand your frustration as I have in the past been stood up like this where someone backs out of a deal and you end up losing a sale with someone else. That is a risk you took and I commend you for your honesty and holding out to do the trade with Wes and his brother. Unfortunately because of that risk and the trade details, I don't see how you are going to get anything from them to compensate you for your loss in a bad deal. Unfortunately the only thing you did indeed lose is a potential sale when the deal was being made. There wasn't any cash, snakes, or items lost in the transaction and frankly I don't think it would be worth it to pursue any other means in going after these guys over a he say she say ordeal.

I would post up all info you have with these guys, correspondence, etc and just alert others of whom they are potentially dealing with. Sorry for this mishap, I wish you all the luck with this.

Without your proof being posted, your just adding to the "he said/she said babble"

If you can't see that your brother is in the wrong, and should have never agreed to the trade without your concent, then you should step back and look at this from a 3rd party view. He made the deal, she called the buyer she had lined up(right thing to do. If she hadn't, you'd be writing this about her) and told him the deal was going threw. He then proceeded to tell you when it was already to late. He is in the wrong.

As opposed to fully telling our side of the story I will only comment on what Alanna has falsely informed everyone on how the deal transpired. I am only doing this as to give those who care, an opportunity to realize the absurdity of this post.

First off, Alanna did not tell Wes that she had a local buyer. The 7:49pm text told Alanna that Wes was seriously interested and would probably do the deal. The following morning, Wednesday the 13th, Wesley informed me of the trade that he wanted to do. I did not agree with it and informed Wes to tell Alanna that either 1) we wanted more time to discuss or 2) that we had decided against it. Being that the trade had been vaguely negotiated less then 24 hours ago, I did not think it would be an issue to tell her we had decided against it or we needed more time to discuss. Wesley then informed me that Alanna had not taken well to the news and was threatening that “We were going to suffer repercussions of our behavior!” I decided to text Alanna myself to inform her that Wesley had just told me about the trade and that I didn’t agree with it. I apologized for any frustrations and wished her luck with he sale. She promptly responded with “This means nothing to me” and then text me saying again, that “we would be suffering the repercussions of our behavior.” I then sent the text that Alanna has included above.

As regards to the text message that Alanna says she got from a local friend is not even worth my time to comment on. That text is fictitious and fabriacated.

As for my final comments, I think Alanna has gotten a little “high and mighty” in regards to her reputation here on Fauna. I have multiple text messages that she sent to Wes explaining how she is a “big shot” on Fauna and that if we were to “piss her off” we would have a difficult time selling/trading with anybody on the site. I can sympathize with her disappointment with not getting to complete a trade but trying to bully Wes or I because of her status on Fauna, is shameful.

In addition, Alanna’s choice to contact her local buyer was all hers. By not informing Wes about the buyer and the circumstances surrounding that buyer, and then using that against him, is a double standard. If she would have told Wes about the buyer and he confirmed he wanted to do the deal, then I can be much more understanding. But to not inform Wes and then use that against him is poor business practice on her part.

Wes and I will not be bullied by Alanna on this site. We have completed many transactions successfully and have plenty of individuals who would confirm this. Disagreements do occur in this hobby however most mature professional individuals will not elevate it to the level that Alanna has.

I am not vindictive so I will not say that I will never have future dealings with Alanna. I can forgive her for her behavior and apologize that the situation transpired as it did. Reconciliation is always possible.

Wes never "officially" agreed to the deal. I think this is where the root of the problem is. Alanna says he did, Wesley says he didn't. The buck should stop there. Even if he "officially" confirmed that he wanted to do the deal it is still ok to back out. Especially considering the time frame. We are talking about less then 24 hours! I have had this happen to me dozens of times. Things happen, people change their minds! Alanna is lacking professionalism and is trying to bully Wes and I. That is why this thread is here.

Now, had Alanna informed Wes that she was foregoing a local buyer in order to do this deal and Wes agreed/confirmed, then I would have forced him to complete the trade. However, this did not occur. I am a man of my word.

I am sorry she is frustrated but I will not be pushed around by her.

Thanks Alanna for posting these! Saves me time! Although you have deleted off your phone a few messages you sent. In addition, the texts confirm how professional and courteous Wes is!

You confirmed our story. As stated, I understand being a little frustrated but given the circumstance, you were the bully and it is clear in your messages. I will admit that given the situation, the deal seemed final. However, you did not inform Wes of the local buyer. Without informing Wes about the local buyer your argument here holds no water. Like I said, had he agreed to the deal knowing about your local buyer, I would have made him stick to it even though I didn’t agree.

Again, I am sorry you feel the need to post all of this here.

Well I'd say that looks pretty cut and dry as to supporting exactly what the OP stated in her initial post.
So yes she did tell him she already had a local buyer lined up but that she would tell the local guy no if he really wanted her. He agreed to the deal, even set up the shipping date of the next day and agreed to send tracking info, etc. And then when asked for the tracking info the next day backed out.

Sounds like exactly what she stated in the first post. Have to agree with her here. Yes it does happen, but calling her a liar and saying she never said she had another buyer lined up that she turned down just to try to save face on backing out of something that you didn't get your brother's "permission" to agree to is a lot of bs. I can say I wouldn't be happy either, that person would go on my do not sell to list and that would be that.
