    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

USARK and Andrew Wyatt Questions Answered Here

There is a lot of controversy and questions about what has been going on between Andrew Wyatt, Erica Walsh, USARK and myself. It's time to set the record straight. No more rumors, no more guessing. Although I don't like being the focal point of any of this, I am, and have resigned myself to this fact. So, here are the facts.
I was informed by a close friend who happens to have access to all kinds of herp related information that Erica Walsh accused me of being a pedophile. She claimed that I was arrested and convicted of this, and was incarcerated for this crime. This of course is completely false, and in fact I have never been arrested for anything in my life. Ever. I have never been accused of being a pedophile, or any other crime.

I contacted governing members of USARK and objected to being slandered, libeled and having my character defamed. At the USARK meeting on the Friday before the NARBC in Tinley, members of USARK met to discuss the accusations about me that were made by Erika Walsh being false, and her continued assistance to USARK. The USARK board was given few details to what was said but Andrew and Erika both knew the whole sorted story, that it was false, weeks before the USARK meeting. Friday afternoon Andrew Wyatt told someone during the show the same lie he knew to be false about me. This information got brought to Bob Ashley's attention Saturday night after the auction. Bob Ashley brought this to two USARK board members the next morning as well as to Brian Potter and Erika Walsh. Andrew Wyatt was asked by a USARK board member to leave the show early and go home.

I agreed with the USARK board to allow Andrew to stay on with USARK until the end of the year, allowing for him to represent our hobby and industry in Washington DC pertaining to HR511 before I filed a personal slander/libel suit against Andrew Wyatt and Erica Walsh. Once the end of the year came, Andrew "resigned" from USARK, and quickly announced his new group. I did not want to involve the board members of USARK in this lawsuit but the character of Walsh and Wyatt should be exposed.
These are all facts, are documented, have witnesses and can't be refuted.

Now for my own personal take on all this. I'm not worried about my reputation, as it is solid, and I have nothing to hide. Andrew was fired from his $80,000 a year job + traveling expenses because of saying an idiotic and untrue thing about me. He has now started a new group to directly compete for funding with USARK to regain his $80,000 a year salary I feel that Andrew Wyatt can't be trusted with our hard earned money, and our best bet is to continue to support USARK and PJAC with our funding. Andrew Wyatt is dishonest and self promoting, and is obviously not looking out for our best interests in our hobby and industry.

Wow ,on two accounts .First ,that is really sad that behavior existed ,and second , 80k + travel seems a bit much ,unless he was donating back 60k .Fifteen "um's" for every sentence audibly spoken by the spokesperson looks like money NOT well spent .

Want to extoll the virtues of your hero Wyatt some more?

Want to explain his lies to McCurley and others that conflict directly with his HR2811 testimony? Or were those you misstatements?

Or perhaps you'd like to come on and discuss why you are going around and calling members or the community pedophiles? Is that how you and Wyatt deal with your enemies - by accusing them of the vilest of acts?

So it all comes out, you both got kicked out of Tinley, and Wyatt apparently got his walking papers so that you and he could be sued by Foose and USARK could remain clear of your actions.

Want to tell us again why you and Andrew deserve our support?

Put on those tap shoes girl, I got the floor all shined up for you...............

And rightfully so. Who would want to support a group that spreads such falsehoods? Who could possibly trust someone that said such things? If she tried to take Ken down this way, who is next?

I'm hoping Ken will update us as to what is happening. I can imagine he must be overwhelmed by the publicity and the awfulness of such an accusation. I sent him a short note, and I hope all of us will be supportive of him.

Nope 80-90k Is his Cut on top of his travel costs. He got like 30-40% of all donations

And we were all led to believe that Andrew Wyatt's departure was somehow connected to the renewed ties between USARK and PIJAC - that he left due to philosophical differences......

Little did we all know that - like all good spin pieces - the truth may be much darker.

Is that what you do to people who piss you off Chen-Goebbels? Or was this part of a bigger beef that Wyatt has with Foose? Are you two that screwed up, that low, that subhuman, that you would accuse another person of such a heinous and vile act? If you did that, if you spread such rumors about an innocent man, then the two of are rotten and pathetic pieces of crap and the hobby would be better off with the two of you maggots gone.

I'm now interested in whether you were crass enough, Andrew, to then ask for a buy out from the organization that you put in danger of slander and libel?

Did you ask for that buy out while you were downloading their e-mail list onto your flash drive?

So it does appear that you two will be the target of a lawsuit. It also appears that you were forced to leave against your will - and not for the altruistic reasons you so deftly spun.

Like most of us, attorneys have a choice to make, whether they will do good, or evil. They hold a special role in helping others find their way through the legal system, and understand myriad rules and regulations. They can be defenders of the poor, and the weak, champions of justice, the slingshot of David in the fight against Goliath.

Well, I sure do want to thank everyone that chimed in on this. As usual, I appreciate the support that this site has always given me. This is of course a lot worse then being accused of selling a mite covered snake. Yes, it is all true though. Details, because I know you are wondering.

Back in July two chimps escaped here in Vegas. This was the open door that HSUS was waiting for. They jumped on a congressman and started drafting a new law in Nevada that is out to ban all exotics, including reptiles and amphibians. I started gearing up for a fight right away, along with the help of many other exotic owners here in Nevada, mostly mammal people (tigers, lions). We decided this was an exotics issue, and we would band together to fight. All for one. Then came along this little grub named Justin Mietz. He claimed to be ready to lead the fight, and was going to fight for only the herps. In an open lettered email, I suggested to him that he should sit down and shut up and let the adults take care of this. I also, in the same letter, told Andrew to keep USARK out of Nevada and that we didn't need his help. Months later on a herping/whale sharking trip to Baja, Bob Ashley, co-owner of the Tinley reptile show, among other shows, told me he heard that USARK had painted a big bulls eye on my back and was gunning for me. He's the one that told me about what Walsh was saying about me. He said it was because I'd cost them money by keeping them from yelling "fire" about Nevada and cutting into their fund raising plans. I'd just spoken in person with Wyatt in July at IHS, and explained to him why I did not feel USARK needed to spend money in Nevada, and that I felt I had the situation handled, but would yell if I ended up needing help. Andrew and I have always gotten along and I thought we were friends. It appeared that this criminal background check was all Walsh's doing, urged on by hero wanna be Justin Meitz. I guess he felt I took the wind out of his sails or something, and this was his payback to discredit me. Beats me. I don't want to be a hero, and I don't want to be in the lime light. I just want to be happy and play with my herps and make a living doing so. And that's what I do. I don't want to testify to the Nevada Congress, and I sure don't want what's going on now. I lead a happy, somewhat dull life, and I like it that way. Walsh is a poor lawyer. She looked me up, got my name mixed up with someone else, and proclaimed my guilty of child molestation. She never bothered to look at the fact that the man she looked up is 74 years old and still in prison. Now I'm no raving beauty, but please ... I don't think I look 74. A photograph of the convicted man was included in the report. It sure ain't me. I spoke to her, and she explained it was a mistake. But in the meantime, how many other people had she told that it was me? I found out about it in Mexico for goodness sake! So I went to USARK, and complained about their vice president. Walsh's professional profile stated clearly that she was vice president of USARK. Turns out she's not, and never was. It appears Andrew made her vp all by himself, with no approval from the board that must approve all officers and board members. This makes two lies I caught her in. Time went by as I tried to decide what to do. I spoke to my friends on the USARK board, who all said they would resign and walk away from USARK. All I had to do was say the word. However, I didn't want to go down in herp history as the person that destroyed USARK, especially when we need it more then ever, so I suggested everyone stand down, take a deep breath, and ponder it some more. Then came Tinley. Walsh was the only one on my radar, with Justin also being on it, but just a little blip in the corner. The gag order was issued, it was made clear that Walsh had made a terrible mistake, and no one was to say another word about me. And can you believe, the very next day, Wyatt went out onto the reptile show floor and started telling people I was a child molester. I know the people he told (and I'm not telling who, so don't ask). I have witnesses and backup for everything I'm stating here, by the way. One person he told went and told another person who already knew the real story, and the shit hit the fan from there. Andrew was fired from USARK at the show. He was asked to leave at the show. Walsh, who in an interview with Herp Nation radio claims this never happened, was actually there when it happened. 3rd lie that I know of. She claimed on the radio that none of these events happened, which ends up adding up to about a dozen lies. Lied through her teeth. I was disgusted just listening to her. So, here we have HR511 coming up. I agreed not to sue until Andrew was out of USARK. I agreed to allow Andrew to remain with USARK until the end of the year so he could testify on our behalf before the HR511 hearing. On Dec 31, Andrew Wyatt "resigned" from USARK. Now that my friends were clear from any fall out, well, here I am. I did not do this right away because I was in Peru for the past two weeks, and hey, asshole or not, Andrew had to wait until after my vacation. I'm sure you guys understand. I had told Herp Nation the whole story days before I left. They asked me to go on the air and tell my story. I told them I would once I got home and spoke again to my lawyer, just to make sure this would not effect my lawsuit, if I choose to file one. Andrew has no money, and a case like this will cost a lot. So I'm still ponding my options. I contacted Herp Nation today and told them it was time. They said they had to run it by their lawyers first. Fair enough. But I doubt if they ran it by the lawyers when Walsh came on the radio and lied through her teeth. If you have questions of me, ask. If I can answer them I will. If the questions effect others in this case that are innocent, I won't answer. Fair enough? We are all still waiting for your response. Ken has laid it all out on the table...........how you targeted him, tried to smear him and tried to ruin his reputation and perhaps, his livelihood. Whether you ever face a lawsuit in this or not I predict that you are nothing but damaged goods in this industry if what Ken alleges proves out. Best of luck with that.

Disappointing about some people, to say the least.... Doesn't this industry have enough issues to have to deal with?
 
Rich, let me point out the silver lining if all of this. Over the past few months, old enemies have started talking, actually sitting down and talking, for the first time in years. People are stepping up and coming together. At long last, it appears (and I really hope) that out industry is about to come together for our common cause. Because of all this crap, USARK is talking to PJAC again, and in a very good way. If things work out the way I hope, then all of this crap being said about me might just be worth it. We must unite. This is do or die. I'm very optimistic for our future.

One can only hope, Ken. The world, in all aspects, has been a rather disappointing place lately.

We know you check in here, so don't act like this place doesn't exist.

You may have bamboozled a lot of good people - first with your interview, second with your blog entires and third with your forums posts proclaiming your big plans, your spirit of cooperation and why USHA is a viable player to protect our rights - this will depend on what shakes out between you and Foose.

Now, Ken has leveled a very serious set of charges against you. I would ASSume that in a matter of time more people will come forward and corroborate his account.

So before you categorically deny that none of it happened, think about how much worse this will be when more people come forward.

I would strongly suggest, that if you give a damn about the future of USHA that instead of hiding in one place and denying things (as has been your practice) that you answer Ken's accusations.

You painted a very fair picture on your Herp Nation interview, I imagine it would be devastating to your supporters if it proves out that you were full of hot air.

Dr. Booth has made it a point to pop in on just about every forum that has asked for clarification on USARK's position and their relationship or lack of relationship with PIJAC. YOU however, have been content to sit in one place and discuss these things with just one of the many groups on the net.

It almost looks like you are hiding out on forums that are friendly to you, that have been receptive to you. On the other hand, as USARK and PIJAC are being asked tough questions, Booth, Brant and Canning have shown a willingness to pop into places where they may not be too popular in an effort to clarify their positions.

We are all waiting Erika. Why should the Fauna community, the B-P.net community and all the others you have ignored believe that USHA deserves their support? What happened with the e-mail list? What happened with Mr. Foose? What's the story on the conflicting testimony between the HR2811 hearings and Wyatt's BMP position? Were you or weren't you the VP of USARK?

Facebook likes are peachy Erika, but as the old USARK could probably tell you, all the likes in the world won't pay the bills.

In order to get donations, in order to get more than verbal support, you are going to have to pound the pavement. I'd suggest you start checking out other forums and see what's going on.
