    =====================

I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

What is the better morph? Looking at them I like the black but only the dark dark black pastel I guess that is probably a preference thing. But my question would be who likes what and a little why from you would be great? I saw a couple of awesome blacks at the show yesterday and am probably now looking to acquire one but some opinion on this from the long timers would be great as well what mixes better and such? I know you can get all kinds of cool stuff out of both but post some pics for me and opinions and help me make up my mind? The black pastel spider in my opinion rocks absolutely awesome and now I think I got to have one!!

I feel it's just a matter of preference...

I prefer the Black pastel because the combo's they make IMO look better than the ones made with the cinnie.... Again that is my opinion and my personal preference... But I also love the firey orange color in the pattern and flames over the white flames in the cinny's...

Here's my Black pastel... Triple Ringer 100% Het Pied as well! :D

I prefer cinnamons becuase of the creamy chocolate coloration. That said, I've seen both spectacular and lousy versions of both black pastels and cinnamons, and some that crossed the lines looking like the other morph.
Some of the combos of black pastel DO look better than the cinnamon versions, but I don't know yet whether it's from THAT black pastel used to make the combo, or if it's just the black pastel morph in general that makes it look better.
Either one, you can't go wrong with 'em.

I personally prefer the cinnamon pastels as a whole because I am not the biggest fan of the "busy-ness" of the black pastels patterns. I also normally like the pewters from the cinny line better. However I LOVE Heather's black pastel-het red axanthic she produced this year and I like the 8-balls from the black pastels better as well.

So.....

My suggestion is to get what you like the best, or... get one of each!

do either have any defects as supers? I remember asking about a cinnamon, and being told that the super forms tend to have that duck bill going..

any Ideas??

I thought the both did if memory serves not good for supers but that would rock I'm cinnies do A Black Pastel Pied I was thinking along those very lines can anyone say O.R.E.O wow and if you could get a super all black and white yikes. The Black ghost is awesome as well and the Black spider het ghost that I saw was very cool black pastel honeybee I think would be spectacular!!

I'm hearing you Ed I think Black is more my color and now that Black pastel pied thing has the wheels turning again uh oh my wife hates it when that happens!!

I really agree with all through it's more a preference thing and they both look good just one's better in my mind. I really didn't like clown's at all until I saw one (still not anywhere near the top of my list) just not sure why they are cool!

I've heard that both super blacks and super cinnies have duckbilling, and even black pastel x cinny supers have them.

I personally like cinnies better, I think pewter cinnamons are far superior. Although, I also think that super blacks look better, so you know, I think the solution is to just get both.

Personal preference as to what someone likes better is all it is.

I like black pastels, they make everything better than cinnamons.

Black pewters are so much better than cinnamon pewters in my opinion. actually.....everything a cinnamon can do a black can do better.

Would love to see some pics of both pewter's I'm not a big pewter person I was considering other things however that cinnie pewter in the classified is a very pretty animal!! I cant seem to find alot of Black pewter pics ?

Some more black pastel pics...

I have some Black Pewter baby pics somewhere... I'll see if I can dig 'em up...

My personal preference is for black pastels, the pattern, color and the combos are better than cinny's imo.

This is my newest male breeder, Black pastel pos het ghost.

I like good black pastels over good cinnies....and anything less than good versions of either one are completely unacceptable, IMO. I understand that "good" is highly subjective, and my version might not mesh with anybody else's; but this is definitely a morph for which one should shop around - not for price, but for the right look. It will pay off in the end.

I like Black Pastels much better in combinations and as standalone morphs. I went with a Black pewter girl, and I chose based on her pattern. I agree with Harald that this is one morph that you will want to be picky with. If you plan to work on supers, then I would definately buy them from differant collections. You may want to buy from someone experienced in producing supers with their line, and see if they have any deformity issues. If you get from lines that are less prone to deformities, you can lessen but not eliminate the issues of kinking and duckbilling. I'm planning on picking up a male silver streak (black pastel super pastel) this year to pair with my Black pewter girl, to shoot for super pewters. Good luck no matter what you decide to go with.

By the way that Blackback Black pastel is smokin Harald.

Here are some pics of my Black Pewter Girl about 2 months ago or so. Not the best pics but you get the idea.

I'm partial to cinnamons over black pastels. The pattern on some cinnies( black backs and floating alien heads) is what does it for me. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with black pastels at all, but I just like the crosses made with cinnamon over black pastel.

I like and own them both. I like the Cinnys for the blushed out lighter combos and I really like the Black Pastels for the busy pattern darker stuff. Both will be worked into a few projects I have. The Blacks tend to have better contrast so I am going to make Albino Blacks. I like Cinny Lessers quite a bit. It's really a pro and con thing depending on the combo you're going for in my opinion :)

Regards,

B

just look at the combos that you want to make and see which gives the desired color you are looking for. Or buy one of each!
