    =====================

    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
    Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

    And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Very very Nice!!!!! I can't eblieve you got those from Petco.the petco by me has some okay geckos but nothing like those 2.Just a few nicer ones here and there and then I have to think about wether or not I want to deal with the problems they may bring.Is it worth the sickness that may come with it??? Becaus eher the only nice ones are quite small.I have one now I am fighting with to get it better.It is just the prettiest little patternless female but I don't know if she is going to make it.She is on a panacur now and I hope she does make it but she is also only about 8 grams.

sorry to hear about your little one hope she gets better. i have 2 petcos that i go to and for some reason they always have a good selection, but i only buy them if they are a little older and i always keep them in quarintine for 30 days or more dependeing on what the vet says. i bought most of them for only 30 dollors and a few for 20

Don't be sorry for taking and posting pics. They're cute lil geckos.

Zachory,
Nice animals, but something seems to be "off" in your photos..... What kind of camera are you using???? It also looks like you like to use the vita-lite for your photo lighting....

Sweet pics! I Love the colors on them. I took in a baby my friend had bought for his son (which I advised against!) From Petco. Anyway the poor little guy ended up getting so dehydrated & sick. They gave it to me I tried to get it back to life, but it was too late. So I went to petco & I also bought a nice looking Paternless Gecko. It looked pretty healthy, but it didn't last more than 2-3 weeks & It died the same way. I have had my 1st gecko for over a year before I thought about getting another... I made sure all of the requirements were correct. (I'm not totally new to Herps either...)

Anyway, Good luck with your new Addisions!

Steve X.

Congratulations! Those are some really nice looking geckos. But I have to tell you the other guys are right about it being a gamble buying from a big chain pet store like that. I am not saying for a minute that I to have never been tempted but I have learned over the years it's just not worth the time or money you could end up dishing out. About 5 years ago my wife saw a pair of Dumeril Boas at a Petco. She called me and asked if I could come down and look at them. I tried to explain how I felt about buying from them but since she was just getting into reptiles especially snakes I gave. We brought them home they both looked really good nice colors, clear eyes, no patches of unshed skin. Two days later the female died. We took her and the male to the vet. Ran several test. They had some kind of infection. He gave us some antibiotics for the male. My wife was heart broken. I went back to the store with dead snake and receipt. They would not honor it. The male never came totally out of it and even with servile more trips to the vet he still ended up dieing 8 months later. It was one of the most expensive reptiles I ever had.I wish you the best with your finds just be careful and don't forget reptiles are great at hiding illness.

i use a cannon powershota85 , and good eye for the lighting did not want to use the flash and scare my girls i did take the pics through the glass that mught be it i am not the greatest picture taker lol

i know it is a gamble, but the stores i get mine from are really good and take very good care of their animals but like you said they are very good at hiding illneses. i think for now i will stick to reputable breeders. i have seen so many nice geckos here on this forum thank you all for your comments and i will keep you up to date on my girls

Our latest from PetCo

Personally I try not to go into PetCo anymore cause I always seem to walk out with a new Leo. The PetCo we go to has some of the nicest herps I have seen in a petstore. Here is the latest. She is a very nice 22gr Patternless. I am guessing she is about 2 to 2.5 months old because that is how long it has been since we have gone in and all they had at that time was hatchlings.
