I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?
So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.
But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.
Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.
I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

Responding to email notices you receive.

In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Im posting this to let other people know to avoid going thru this Travis Im not asking for refund its too late im keeping my word i said partial refund was fine. I just want people to see my mistake I was hoping to produce supers this year or a quick buck what you guys call it. Ive been in classes really busy and didnt post everything. I will post pictures and dates of snake eggs laying and entire conversation.

Yes im sorry left out alot of things hes not a scumbag i apologize and i did leave stuff out i am guilty of that he refunded $50 i agreed to that because I didnt want to really ship her back. I really like her I will post the results I get from the vet I will be going next week and MrTPlush can also tell you guys i dint do anything or ask for full refund as i do this BOI . I didn't believe him about not breeding her and kept asking if it was okay to bred her again to see the manner her response and made it seem as if she was okay its best if I post the whole conversation. Id hate for anyone to buy a snake and in 3 days lays 1 bad egg this is terrible regardless.

Travis told me she would be fine and thats not the case and i dont know why many of you guys in the comments act like saints. What is bad of buying a pair that wasnt breed to breed yourself this year to make some money or keep offspring? Seriously is that what makes me the bad guy? I understand leaving the $50 refunded out is terrible of me and i apologize. Just give me a couple of days to get every little detail down and the whole conversation ill take screenshots and all the dates of the first slug and shed and 2nd slug.

Any advice will help aswell ive been giving her warm soaks and shes taking her meals but a slug 3 weeks after first isnt a healthy sign. So please give me info not alot on the web only how to care for and to go to vet which i will next week im an Engineering Student and really occupied but I always come home clean cages change water bowls I can post my housing and care to show I don't just want a quick buck and actually care and watch these Hogs. I just want t reword the bad language, I messed Travis and got no respond and decided to post this and was full of steam and came out rude my apologies once again.
My nasicus will sometimes drop random slugs between clutches. I have an albino girl that's in prelay blue right now who dropped a couple slugs a few weeks ago. I had a sayi throw a slug out with a bowel movement a couple weeks before laying a viable clutch last month. I think you might have jumped the gun a bit on the "bad guy" post after getting a single slug.
YOU HAVE NO PROOF OR EVIDENCE THAT HE BRED THE SNAKE.
What makes you unfavourable (in addition to the details you left out and your quick temper) is that you purchased animals in order to breed them without doing thorough research, and when something NORMAL happens you throw around accusations of someone being scum when they did nothing wrong and went above and beyond what they were required to do for you. If buying something to breed it without knowing how to or the complications involved isn't to make a quick buck, then I don't know what else it would be for. It's not something i've ever done...not something my close friends have ever done...so I guess we would be saints in your eyes after all.
In a nutshell, learn to walk before you try to run or you'll trip and fall on your face...and maybe saying sorry without back pedalling would go a long way too.
Hopefully you get help if she is eggbound, but the BOI isn't the proper forum to ask for that kind of advice. Saying that, leaving her alone as much as possible and offering her a laybox is probably the best course of action if she's actually eggbound until you can take her to a vet. The less stress, the better.

I apologized to travis i really jumped the gun I truly am sorry. If the agents of fauna can edit it to neutral or delete it that would be perfect. But yes i kept asking him bout breeding because he did say she recently woke up and didnt ovulate yet.

I am sorry what had occurred. In reality it was a bad situation that was hard to catch before shipping and unavoidable. For that reason I felt bad and why I gave a $50 partial refund on the snakes.
That being said you should really stop talking like you know the snake isn't ok or you were right. You didn't even think a snake could drop infertile clutches and you are trying to tell me what is/isn't normal when that happens? I also never said the snake was fine. I told you what has happened for me in the past and I personally was not concerned when you first got them about one slug being laid. You were the one who instantly thought she was bred and had something that needed a vet visit over one slug. That was a completely false accusation and a vet visit was unneeded with the information at the time. I told you to do whatever you wanted.
Also I am not sure why you would feel the need to post your results from the vet? That has nothing to even do with me. You took full responsibility for these snakes weeks ago. Is that just to vent and make yourself feel better? I didn't force you to take a partial refund and keep the snakes. Your vet trip and the expenses attached to it were a situation you put yourself into. That being said you have been claiming the snake is eggbound since day one and it has been weeks without you taking it to a vet. That's a pretty urgent vet trip if you truly believe that is present.

Read the last 2 lines of Andy's post, again and again, your best advice, the more you mess with any animals having stress the worse you make it (not that any of us know if these snakes truly have issues). Many reptile females will lay slugs even if they have never been with a male , I have had numerous day geckos do it and even some dart frogs.
Too bad you did not seek out more advice or get an experienced keeper's take on the situation, you would have been better off if you had and did not start here.

I never said she didn't ovulate for the record. I told him I had not seen any signs of ovulation(shed). He has mentioned on a few occasions making it sound like I assured him she didn't ovulate which is misleading.
Keep in mind that with female colubrids that don't breed and have infertiles that they can periodically lay slugs over the matter of a few weeks and that they don't always come out at once and there is not cause for concern in every case. Someone experienced would know when the above is happening, or when to go to a vet. Since you simply don't have that experience yet, heed my words in the previous post, leave her alone with a laybox until the day you take her to the vet. There's no need to post any further on the issue (vet results, rest of the conversation, etc.) because you are in the wrong and the seller has absolutely nothing to do with that. Everyone makes mistakes, and it's good you own up to it at least, but make it clear to yourself that you're not in the right in this situation. Since we are dealing with live animals there is no "warranty" once entering your care unless terms were predetermined to include one. For all you (or we, or the seller) know, you could have induced the snake to becoming egg bound by any stressor. Once again, best of luck.

Again, totally ignorant to this particular snake species so forgive me, but from what I know about my snakes... should you be soaking her daily and causing her further stress? I would take Andy's advice and give her a lay box and leave her alone. If you haven't taken her to a vet yet I'm assuming you don't believe she is in immediate danger, so messing with her is only going to exacerbate any problem, if there even IS a problem.
If she's still passing eggs...it leads me to believe that what's going on is what I previously mentioned, that she is gradually passing the slugs over time and is not eggbount whatsoever, but if I were in your shoes, I would still be going to the vet to confirm that.
Think what you may, but that egg wasn't passed because of the soak, that's one thing i'll tell you for sure. At the end of the day it's now YOUR snake, you'll do what you think is right whether it is or isn't...

Thank you Andy and yes she has her lay box but i just gave her a warm sock after reading a few articles. But i will let he be for now until I go to vet thank you guys
