    =====================

    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
    Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

    And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

Are you sure that its a prolapse and he is not just...cleaning? I see my cresteds do this all the time, but when they see me they suck it back in. So if its still out, then you need to make an apoinment with a vet ASAP. Keep the encloser misted so that the hemipenis do not dry out and seperate him from any others. Try as hard as you can to get him to a vet tomarrow if possable.
Maybe some one on here can help you as to how to put it back in, but I can not. Sorry and best of luck!

Thanks Wes,
I plan on a vet visit in the am if he isn;t better.I did a search for other prolapse posts and found I can give him sugar water baths so that is what I am doing also says honey but I have none.I will get some in the am.I have no idea how this happened he is by himself and too young I thought for this.At least he is being good about the bath

I agree with Wes . .

Make sure to keep him in a sterile, separate enclosure,,, paper towels only. You can use a water-based lubricant to keep the prolapse from drying out, and like Wes said, keep the enclosure misted and humid.

Also, you're right, sugar baths are beneficial because they draw the fluid out that may be causing the tissue to swell,,, try and keep those baths on the cooler/luke side and be sure to rinse the tissue with clean water afterwards. The key here is to be as sterile as possible, since any contamination could be detrimental to your gecko's health. I had to deal with a prolapse once with an already very sick leo, and she pulled through just fine.

Good Luck and please keep us posted!

It looks like its almost all back in...I did some research here on the site looking through some older posts about prolapse and found that preparation H helps.So I put some on him arond 7:30 am this morning and now at 7:30 only 2 hours later it is looking sooo much better.Almost completely back in.My question is at this point what caused that i such a ypung leo he is only about 5 to 6 months old.Any ideas.He is not overweight nor is he with any females.I have kept him alone since I got him.I personally prefer to keep them alone until adulthood when they are ready to bred.Any ideas what caused this and could it be prevented.

Robin, it sounds like you have the situation under control. The sugar solution and the preperation H are the two best methods other than seeing a vet.

As for the cause, I would probally mark it up to..... hey ma look what I found. He just isn't sure how it works yet. There are many other possible causes but in the conditions that you describe, I think he just got a little over excited about his new discovery. Glad he is on the road to recovery. :)

I still plan on a vet visit.Just to be sure he is ok.He is one of my favorites .he has always been calm and easy to handle and so very sweet.Here is a pic of him from a few weeks ago.So you can see he still just a little guy.

Glad to hear he's doing better! Thanks for posting the situation...it will help others in the future. Also, "jumbo" (as I like to call him...hoping it will "take") will be packed up later this morning to head north!

I have a feeling Jumbo may stick with him.i happen to like that name.and yes my whole reason for posting was,of course to get some help but also to help others.Thats what its all about...learning from others.I was so happy to see how fast that Preparation H worked.
