I picked this guy up at a show a few years back. He was a bush baby in an aquarium with about 50 other normal looking animals. He was slightly lighter than the bunch and after examining him, I noticed he had a clear belly. He reminded me of something in between a Russo and a special...just not as bright.
He was a problem feeder and it took me a few seasons to get him up to size. Since then he has gradually lightened over time. I bred him to a Kingpin female last year and he got the job done. Only one animal out of that clutch was different looking (a triple combo female). I thought it might have been a fluke and decided to try him with a few females this year. I have three clutches out of the egg with one more to hatch any day now and one due in a month from now. So far I've produced a handful of combos and a few base morphs. The gene brightens and cleans up pattern. At the very least, he has proven to be a co-dom.
I've decided to name the morph Stella, if that name has not already been taken.
Stay tuned...pics of some of the babies will be coming soon.
