    =====================

I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

On 8/4 I purchased an Adult Male Silkback from mb8159 Michael Bajdek. I was not told it was missing 7 toes and blind in the left eye. It was in poor condition with stuck shed and poorly under weight. I email Michael Bajdek and he responded and always polite. His solution was to return the dragon for a refund but due to the dragon's poor condition. I just kept it and hoped for the best. Adult Male Silkback dragon is doing great and I decided since it was blind in one eye to give it to a friend, who is not a breeder. She will love and take care of it forever.

I decided to write this BOI just to inform people even if he was going to refunded the money minus shipping on the return. He should have never shipped a dragon missing 7 toes and blind in one eye and in poor condition without stating its problems.

Now lets look closer at his solution (refund minus shipping cost)
He told me he paid $80 for shipping a 3lb package priority over night
My cost to ship to him back was 53.85 via Reptiles Express
SO if my refund was 350 minus his shipping of 80 minus 53.85 shipping back
Refund would 350 - 80 - 53.85 = 216.15

Im just not happy losing 133.85 when a asked for breeding quality dragon.
I felt like he was very shady in the sale of this dragon and Im not satisfied with the purchase.

Might you have any pictures of the dragon? Ones that show its condition upon arrival would be most beneficial for your claim.

You can clearly see the amount of missing toes and he was not in shed. This shed was hard old shed and that came off with his last shed. He looks thicker in this pics b/c he is flatting on the house he likes to sun bath on. He had a alot of loose skin.

Thanks for the picture. I don't have dragons so I can't weigh in on the condition but I'm sure someone else will.

In any event, do you have any correspondance between yourself and the seller? If you do, it'd be best to post that too -- e-mails with headers if the correspondance occurred via e-mail, post the PMs if it happened here on Fauna, etc.

Alright I got what I paid for health breeder size silkback male. Now I have a question is he from a small bloodline or is he just small for his age? He is very orange and light to be normal.

Mike,

This silkback is blind in the left eye and missing 7 toes. I still feel you should have been upfront about the condition of this dragon. I hope he will breed like you promised.

> honest to god i didn't know he was blind as far as the nipped toes i figured i discounted him fairly seeing how a perfect silkback male can run you $600-$700 i only charged $350 shipped and $80 of that was shipping charges i wouldn't worry he bred for me he'll be fine

I will find out this Friday if he will breed. I figure it out today went I was hand feeding I notice no re-action when I put food on the left of him but he ate it quickly when I put it on the right.

I just decided not to breed him due to his blind eye I did not want it to be a genetic problem

Okay. Thanks for the information. I sent a link to this thread to him so that he can share his side (if he so chooses to).

hey look i offered you a refund minus the shipping i gave you the silkback male for an excellent price he had no eye issues and he was an excellent breeder for me the minute you recieved him you asked for a $100 back seems to me you wanted to get him for ALOT cheaper so who was trying to scam who whats the matter it took you how many months to complain RUNNING LOW ON MONEY!!! it seems that way to me if you had such a problem you should have taken the refund end of story GOODBYE

You are way off base here.

Him asking for $100.00 refund for the missing toes that was not disclosed is fair. You sending a dragon with missing toes and not telling him in advance makes you the bad seller.

$80.00 plus shipping charge? please post your shipping bill.

if he had such a problem he should have taken the refund as for the shipping bill i no longer have it. i guess there's quite a few people that have no lives but to sit and read threads all day i've had many positive experiences both buying and selling on here but lately this place has become a friggin soap opera i don't know about you people but I HAVE OTHER THINGS IN MY LIFE BESIDES REPTILES and Mr clark i noticed you're the first one to jump all over people i guess your soooo smart why don't you get a LIFE lol

if he had such a problem he should have taken the refund

The OP stated that his reasoning for not accepting the refund was due to the fact that the Dragon was in poor condition and it wouldn't be safe to ship him back to you at the moment.

Maybe you had many positive experiences buying and selling but someone's true character is judged by the way they handle a negative situation - You aren't doing well.

Irate behavior and repetitive insults are going to get you nowhere. It's time to start acting like an adult.
I am sure almost everyone here has a life outside of their reptiles, that doesn't give you the right to skimp on the care of your animals.

Michael, I responded to your post, not with any intent to jump all over you. do you honestly think sending a dragon with 7 MISSING TOES would not get you complaints?

Michael, it was good of you to offer a refund. But all this buyer is doing is giving an account of the sale, alleging this critter was partially blind and missing almost half his toes, and saying he feels you should have disclosed those defects. That doesn't seem very soap operish to me.
If you were buying critters, wouldn't you want to know about such defects?

if he was in such poor conditon as you state why did he buy it he saw pictures and erica don't tell me to act like an adult why don't you stop being so cheap and contribute some money to fauna and as far as me skimping on my reptiles i feed and take care of them everyday so mind your business you aren't here while i'm taking care of them all i can say is don't buy from me if you don't want to i send current pictures and i answer every question the best i can if you people want to continue this have fun like i said it seems MANY of you need to grow up and get a LIFE
