    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

I have always been a huge fan of Jack Ass, have been for a decade now. I learned this morning that Ryan Dunn, one of there top guys, passed away recently in a car accident. RIP Ryan. Always enjoyed the show! You will be missed.

What a waste of a life, not to mention an amazing vehicle if the news article I read was correct (Porsche 911 GT3, but you can't tell that from the above picture!). He also killed his passenger. Driving too quickly late at night, could alcohol, bravado, or something like that have been a factor?

He was intoxicated by what the news report stated.
 
Well then it may seem a little harsh, but I have no pity for his death, other than the effect it has on those who were close to him. More I pity for the passenger, though odds are that person was probably also impaired.
 
My biggest concern is that Steve-O might relapse back into drugs. I agree that it was his fault for being intoxicated, and you get what you have coming. I find it funny that all the stupid things they did on jackass didn't kill him, and then he crashes his car..life works in mysterious ways.
Does anyone know who the passenger was?
 
damn i love the show jack-ass also..... i agree he shouldnt have been intoxicated but the show will never be the same and im sure his family is devistated.

It's sad the kid got killed..It's also sad that people can act like morons and become rich and famous for it.

I'm shocked it took as long as it did for 1 of them to get killed..And you worry about Steve-O falling off the wagon?...why?

well, half of the people that started jackass were already rich when they started the show..

and I worry because he's been doing so good. Did you ever see the documentary on Steve-O? It was pretty intense. I'd just hate to see him get sucked back into that because of this.
 
Ok..fill me in on who was rich before the show?...I really couldn't care any less about Steve-O..The worlds full of addicts, his story isn't special.
 
The world will always be full of jack-asses, too. Too bad about that guy, but well ... he was a jackass after all.

Amazing what passes for talent, IMO.

and Laura, it wasn't so much that they were talented, it was that they were (and still are) dumb enough to do the things that people wanted to see. Extreme AFV in a way.
Who hasn't wanted to push someone into a curb while in a shopping cart? Or wake their dad up by repeatedly punching him in the face and body?

Officials have identified the passenger who was killed in "Jackass" star Ryan Dunn's fatal crash as 30-year-old Zachary Hartwell ... a friend who had been hanging with Dunn at a Philly-area bar earlier in the night.

Cops say both Dunn and Hartwell (pictured above right) both died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash around 2:38 AM Monday morning.

Sources who were at the bar with the two men tell us Dunn had intended to drop Hartwell off at his home ... and then Dunn planned to hang out with another friend after that.

Hartwell is credited as a production assistant on the "Jackass 2" movie and recently had a small role in the Bam Margera-directed 2009 movie "Minghags."

Though I have no pity for those who drive intoxicated and kill themselves, i know the affect it has on friends & family as my God Son's father lost his best childhood friend through an accident and he was DUI. And as stupid and "jack-ass"ish those guys were, they still are human beings. its a shame that 2 lives had to be destroyed over this. and yes... Jackass will never be the same...

He got a skate deal after Jackass in 2003..doesn't matter...2 people got killed after a night of booze'n. All the $ in the world can't buy ya brains.
