    =====================

    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
    Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

    And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

Im looking for some 4 or 5 foot plastic cages & am seeing ads here & at differents sites with there cages for sale. I did a search & nothing came up about them.They look good in pics & seem like pretty good pricing. Has anyone used them or seen the quality of them in person? If you used them how well did they stack & how many high can be stacked?
Thanks
Chris Pearson

Alan's wood cages are awesome. I have one. The plastic would no doubt be just as high quality. He is a good guy to deal with and you shouldn't have any problems.

I'm picking a rack up from Alan in May at the Raleigh NC show. May be a bit premature to post about it now, but I honestly don't think you will have any problems, and I certainly am not expecting any...I have talked to Alan on several ocassions and he is a real nice, real funny (well, he thinks he is) guy with a LOT of great idea's in his approach to reptile enclosures...I am really looking forward to meeting him in May...Pop in Fauna's chat room sometime, you can find him there...:cool:

Customer Service= A+++++

Alan is very helpful & knowlegable. Recently, we have been getting bids from some of the plastic caging vendors to redo our entire facility. Although we have not made a final decision yet, our experience with Alan was OUTSTANDING! His customer service is top notch, his knowlege about the structural aspects of herp caging (for the bigger monitors & snakes) is expansive, and his flexiblity of design to accomodate a variety of needs was most helpful too. If you need something special, he can design it for you to suit your needs. We have not yet decided who to go with, so haven't actually used any of his caging, but based on several phone conversations- I would recommend Alan as honest & trustworthy and definately someone to do business with. He took time to return our calls even when he was getting ready to go out of town, emailed to give us updates along the way, and even emailed to say his email wasn't going to be working & if we needed to get ahold of him to call-WOW talk about communication!
He is also one of the few newer plastic vendors that uses glass instead of acrylic which was a major plus for us as we do alot of lizards too.

Jungle Habitats

I am in the process of starting a Reptile/Tropical Fish Store in Memphis, Tn. Alan will be in charge of making all of our cages for the store, He has been a terrific person to work with, he helped us decide exactly what size cages and everything that would be best for what we want. I believe that he has a couple of pics posted on his forums picture gallery of what the store and the cages would look like http://www.junglehabitats.com/forums/album_personal.php?user_id=2 I hope this link works. Alan has been wonderful and very patient while we are waiting on our loan to finish the final process. I would definitly recommend Alan to anyone.

Has anyone recieved a plastic cage from them yet? I really like what I see in the ads but would just like to hear from someone who bought them & find out what you think of the quality of materials & craftsmanship.

Update,
After talking to Alan on the phone for over an hour, I decided to order four 5 foot cages from him. I liked what he had to say & he doesn't cut any corners in cost. His cages include heat tape,vent, halogen light, lock & most importantly they come with sliding glass doors, yet he still uses a full front piece of plastic that is then cut out other then a border to be used as a dam & to keep in heat, humidity & mainly for strenght so they can be stacked. He's always quick to respond to emails & sends me updates along with pictures. Im excited to get them.

I just recieved four 4x2x1 cages from Alan on Friday and I must say they are very nice. I did alot of research before making the purchase and I have to say that you cannot get a better cage with more options for the price. They are sturdy and well constructed while being light enough for me to move around easily by myself. During the whole deal Alan kept in constant contact, and because there was a slight delay due to his glass cutter relocating he also shipped the cages assembled at no additional cost. I would not hesitate to buy from Alan Hall.

I have to say I was rather reluctant to buy from Alan as I didn't get much feedback here because he was new to the plastic cage manufacturing. I went ahead & purchased four 5 foot cages from Alan it was a great experience from start to finish. He kept me updated on construction & sent pictures of finished cages before letting me know when they were going out & when they would arrive. I've seen the thinner plastic cages that's aren't exactly what I would call durable not to mention what the plexiglass/acrylic doors look like in no time & am happy I ordered from the new guy on the block in plastic caging. These cages are easy on the eyes, very durable & built to last a lifetime. They exceeded what I was expecting & the craftsmanship is incredible. I love the sliding glass doors & locks that come with them & with the heat tape & lights already installed all I had to do was plug them in & add Boas. Im glad Im not his competition as I think I'd be looking for a new career as I think he just brought the plastic cage world to a new level for everyone else to achieve. A great cage where the options are included. Highly recommend

I just received mine today as well. Actually it was a replacement for one of those "thinner" models you mentioned in your post. While not as light weight, I feel more secure that my boas won't demolish Alan's cage with the ease they did the other one.

Alan's switched over to a new lock system which I really like. Looks clean and is secure. Nice solid system all the way around.

Good Job !!!!

:D

Hey guys ....

I wanted to say thanks for your buisness and the kind words you have left here . Also wanted to thank you for going with the " new guy" and letting me prove to you that just because im new in the plastic cages that it doesnt mean the quailiy isnt there either. I am doing several new things in the works and hoping to have them ready in the not so far distance future, and i think they will really make peoples daily routines and pocket books alot more bearable ... thanks again guys and if you ever have any questions dont hesitate to let me know
Alan
