    =====================

    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
    Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

    And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

my monitor is missing. Now I know that others have lost and found their monitors.....can anyone give me a clue as to where he'd hide?? Maybe I'm overlooking something

where will he hide? Anywhere he can fit...and some places that you think he can't. Just do a thorough search, checking under and in everything...no matter how unlikely it seems.

The second search will be today after my fiance gets home. He's gonna tear it all apart again. We've looked under the fridge, stove, dishwasher, in the cupboards, in the closet, in the couch, chair and ottoman....I'm running out of ideas

Depending on the temperature where you are at I would begin where it is warmer if it's cool there or air conditioned. If it is cool and it didn't find a warmer spot it may have just found a dark place to hole up for a while. Check under things or even in things like laundry or the couch.

MIne always goes for tight spots

Might help some. He usually goes between furniture or anywhere that is snug.

I'm in an apartment, and he can'g get past my front door, so the laundry is out, I've already ripped apart the couch, it's not up against the wall.

Check closets and shoes. Also BEHIND the refridgerator! Check under ovens, and such too. since theres pilot lights he might be hiding under there. Good luck!!!!!

Anything is fair game. Pick a wall close to his enclosure and start there. Search everything you encounter. Around, under, inside, even if you don't think it is a possibility. Check any small gaps between items, appliances, whatever. Since you said refrigerator - don't just look behind and under...check the coils and up around the compressor, too. Depending on the type of furniture, they can sometimes actually get inside. Savannahs aren't the most graceful animals, or very good climbers, but that doesn't mean they can't. If something is low enough for him to grab or there are things for him to climb, check (curtains, closets). Any box that is not securely sealed needs to be checked. It sounds daunting, especially when your animal is missing and you are worried/frustrated...but once you learn to think like them, it actually gets easier.

oh - if you have them, (hot water) baseboards or radiators = great hiding places

I spent 2 weeks trying to find my male savannah!!! He's just over 2' long and when I found him he was in great shape. We started moving boxes out and there he was, about 4' off the ground on top of a row of cardboard boxes. You never know. Thats why I am hoping to have a herp room done soon. Keeping them contained so they can't leave the room is the safest idea!! Good luck with your search. What kind of monitor is it? Is he's aboreal, he may be up a little bit off the ground, maybe waist high+!!

I don't have many shoes, and they're all checked, the oven (I have an electric clicker, there's no pilot light), fridge, and he's a savannah monitor. You think he could be hiding up at the top of the closet?????

My sav dissapeared for nearly a week earlier this week. I looked everywhere!!!!
Hes about 2.5' long. Just so happened He was hidding under my entertainment center. I freaking looked there!!
Here I am watching TV, and out pops a head. Talk about a plesant surprise!!!

Now If my Indian Ornamental turantula will turn up!!!

well, mine is still missing.....I've looked everywhere at least twice...when he's hungry he'll come out, but I'm starting to lose hope, it's almost been 3 weeks

I'm not so sure anymore, last night I went downstairs to get change from the laundry to get some McDs and I went to leave, on top of the smoker poking his head out from under the handsaw that was on it, was my male crested gecko that's been missing for over a month....so now I know that there is a way for them to get into the basement from the second floor, I just know that he can't get past the front door, I have it sealed well enough to keep the cold out in winter.
