    =====================

    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
    Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

    And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

Had a pretty sunny day out, and was able to get nice lighting to take these pics. They are actually for my website which I am working on, but they turned out nice, so thought I would put them up for everyones enjoyment...I hope :dunce:

This is Baby..youngest of my bells.

And this is Spring, one of my ghosts.

They both shed yesterday and this morning respectfully. The colors came out quite nice with the camera as well...finally getting the hang of it :rolleyes:

Nice pics and very nice leos :)

You have sun!?! Aargh.. I'm in Ohio and we have snow and 8 degree temps.
Oh yeah, nice leos!! :cool:

Nice pics Morgan! That bell looks great as does your ghost. Are you going to breed these two together?

Cody, no, those two won't be bred together. That ghost is my male, so he will go with a couple normals, and with this female Bell, so I can work on a really soft pastel line of bells, hopefully cleaning up the spotting as well.

Wow, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a bell like that before. A pastel bell would be way cool. Good luck with the project and when you get some babies post pics. :)

She's pretty unique. I have another that is fairly light yellow color, but really speckled with dots. The male I had was like the one above, but unfortunatly did'nt make it, which set me back a bit. But I still think they should throw some nice babies regardless.

what makes that a ghost? it looks like a regular hypo to me, or is ghost just another name for superhypo?

Sorry, just noticed you replied to this.

A ghost is just another name that was tacked on. Technically it is a Ray Hines hypo, without the tangerine (or most other) influence. Most of the hypos / supers hypos have been outcrossed with many other lines, while the ghosts are a more pure form of the hypo from Ray Hines line. They tend to have that very faded greenish yellow color like above.

thats cool, so basicly a ghost would be what, an original hypo? i remember awhile back they had a picture of a ghost in reptiles mag, had to be in the 90s and it had body spots and was a lot paler almost while in color, not like a snow like a bluesh tint to the tail and head. if you dont know what im talking about ill dig threw my old mags and post the photo.

As I understand it so far, yes. It has been noticed that some still throw ones with tang in them..so it must have been introduced at some point still, but not a whole lot. This is my first year working with them, so I am not positive on a lot of things, just been gathering info from others who are familiar with them. The pic above is pretty darn close to it's actual color, like a really soft pastel greeny color. You can even see where the beginnings of what would be 'carrot tail' is really faded in that one.

Hmm, not familiar with the pic you mention. When these ones were small they had pretty faded, almost like a snow sorta, so maybe your pic is of a hatchling or juvie?

well I got the mag right here, its alot harder then you would think to take a photo of a page in a mag. if anyone has alot of reptiles mags, its march 1997 pg 16. ill try an scan it so you can check it out. ive always wanted a ghost since that came out but have never seen one that looks like it since. the one in the mag looks more like a "rainbow" on the same page it has a photo of a diamond back? and it says there should be alot of diamindbacks in the future. the artical is by Ron Tremper

I remember that article. Tremper's ghost is not the same as those currently marketed as ghosts. The current ghosts, if I understand correctly, are descendents of wild caught hypos without any tangerine bred in. I think that Tremper's ghosts were selectively bred or dominant / recessive (I can't remember which he marketed them as).

probably all three? :raspberry

Yeah, I would imagine it was a selective bred trait he was working on, that never really made it to fruitition. Sounds like an interesting gecko though.
