    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Ok, here is the deal. Stupid me never wrote down when I got my second clutch. I believe it was like 3 weeks after my first one according to a note to my pal on FB.

I did cut on estimated day 53- but only did tiny cuts. Its been 2 weeks- 2 weeks grace period, and nothing really changed- I see movement in some eggs, some I don't.

Most eggs still have goo in them, one dont have much, will be adding stuff tomorrow to make sure they dont dry out.

Just not sure what to do- if I think some are starting to die- should I do something with the others?

I dont want to mess with them too much- but i dont want to just wait around if they are gonna start to pass away one by one. i'd be mad if there was some intervention I could have done.

I cant believe i didnt write it down. But i am just getting a little worried since i havent seen any heads poking out, and not seeing movement in one egg.

any tips would be appreciated. Who knows, since i did a forum post, maybe they will start coming out....
 
You should have never cut until you saw one pip on its own , let the hatchlings tell you when they're ready , just my opinion , hope they all come out healthy
 
I agree with the no cutting....but....thats not what you are here for...I would keep the humidity high....if its been 2 weeks since you cut...and you estimated day 53....you are looking at around at least day 60....what are the temps?
 
You can cut earlier than when they first pip without any issues. As michael said, keep the humidity high, keep the temps at incubation temps like normal, and as long as you still have the "egg white" in all of the eggs, the babies shouldnt have any issues. Hopefully you didn't misjudge the time though. I would be skeptical about cutting anything earlier than day 52, although I have heard quite a few accounts of them being cut earlier and being completely fine.

While I respect your opinions on not cutting- I have never had an issue with cutting eggs* when da e is marked-egads*, and i am several seasons in ( not saying I am an expert tho mind you) I am in favor of cutting the eggs- I seen snakes that would have died if cutting didnt happen ( tangled imbilica). But each way- if done responsibly, is an acceptable way. the earliest I 'normally' cut is 53-55.
I am not a fan of cutting too early- and my initial cuttring- the signs of them being in the 50's were there- some eggs were dimpled- some were super firm- which was a concern of mine- as in they prolly obsorbed too much water- i did go through a hectic move with these eggs. But they pulled apart just like any clutch, which lead me to believe they were in the 50's.

I prolly cut too soon- but my initial cuts were very small- I am not one for cutting the egg all the way open- th einitial cut was just enough tomake sure the bulging eggs had an air pocket. But naturally, i cut all the eggs.

the color on them looks better now then before.

the humidity is reading 100%, and temps are at 88-89. I havent changed anything about the set-up. the only issue was indeed the move, but it was as quickly as possible.

Chances are, I am just gonna wait. One thing i am not afan of is pulling a baby out of the egg unless i see something for sure that is majorly wrong. If that one is dead- it could have been complications fromt he move. If I see things take a drastic turn for the worse, then i may have to intervene, but just wanted input, suggestions and advice about it. I have heard snakes not coming out til in th e60's, and if i was wrong on the 3 weeks, it just may need a few more days or so. I am just used to quick leavers...lol

Not marking the date was a stupid move. Of all the years- i decide to mess up!

I have a clutch right now I cut on say 49 and Today is day 62 and all the clutch has their head out and they look fine.
 
Personally, I won't cut until day 55... BUT I recently saw a video from a "big breeder" who cut eggs on day 40! I couldn't believe it. It wasn't his standard practice. He was showing they can indeed survive and continue to develop. Again, I do not agree with interfering that soon, however I would think you would be ok if you were off on your estimate by a few days.

Also, EVERY year i think their is no movement in certain eggs and I think the worst... and EVERY year I'm over-reacting b/c those eggs usually hatch without issues....

Well, see, if you post in a forum all scared and all- it will make the babies pip.

2 normals have their heads out and a bee has its snout out. ALl others are moving now for sure.

I am bettign I cut on day 40, and instead of this clutch being 3 weeks from my first, it was prolly 4-5 weeks.

:sigh: Stupid mistake, i know, but at least i donthave to worry as much now ( ill stop worrying when all are out of the egg.
