    =====================

I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Bad Guy Dragons and Tails

Yeah they just wrote him off as being a "runt". I'll be lucky if he makes it. My hubby is upset because these little ones were suppose to be his bday present...n they are going belly up. They have all been eating well these past few days n with daily baths they are starting to look a little bit better. Not great, but 10x better than I recieved them. Hopefully this seller has learned you can't simply just make a profit, you've got to build reputation with it, which takes patience.

I would not count on that change happening. Many times people don't change. They will probably just find another way of advertising and still do what they are doing now. I hold my smallest babies back and usually wait till they get a bit bigger before they leave here. Even if they have a good appetite i still hold them back just because they are so tiny. They all have There own individual growth rates.

That's very true. Yeah I don't expect change unless someone in their area reports them because alot of states have to issue licenses for breeding and selling reptiles. I think the states should make this mandantory. That way they regulate it so that when this stuff happens it can be fixed immediatly. Still nothing back from them on
the dead reptile, probablly won't hear anything from them ever...(my opinion) conartists.

The Babies (Pictures)

Here are some pictures of the baby that I took this morning. They have officially been with me a week now, and are growing stronger, eating more and acting like dragons more each day. I took the pictures after their bath that way you cold all see their "colors" I have to personally say that Fire is the only one with "color". Although Blue Boy does have a blue back but only in sunlight. Poor little Tawny has nothing but brown for now, hoping her colors will come in soon and make the pain of losing so much money a little bit better. Even though I feel better already knowing they are in a better place (my opinion). Now you can all see why I'm so worried about the "runt" Blue Boy.

That yellow spot is where they absorb the egg sack when hatched, some don't heal there and die. They certainly don't have this 3-4 weeks later. It is very possible this dead dragon just hatched shortly before shipped. Unless it is just some smeared urates, in which case the yellow is a bad sign for the baby.

Dehydration is very common in babies which makes shipping them risky in warm weather.

A refund would be in order for a dragon that small, especially since they were 100 each. Wholesale sizes usually get wholesale pricing (40-75 bucks each for a 4 lot).

I'd like to see if there is any email claim of the dragon sizes, and ages. Not that it makes a difference, the price makes it clear that these should have been well started dragons.

Jeff

Jeff,
going with smeared urates. looks to be to high to be the egg sack. those babies look to be a week old. the darker one that has a grey tint to him looks to be a hatchling. My wholesale doesnt go out that small. and 100 bucks a dragon.:nonod: Thats a shame!

If it was smeared urates though wouldnt it have come off in the bath that they were given after arriving? Not only that, wouldn't it be external? This spot was internal, hence why I was thinking either something failed or the baby was dropped and it was bruising. Beautiful dragon you got there Thomas. :) I've got one kinda like it, "her" name is Apple...however, i think she is actually a he, and in that case I plan on naming him Firecracker :p Yeah, I was told they were at least 3 weeks old, and I knew that was a lie, so who's to say the rest of what I was told isn't (personal opinion of course)

It was on the inside? :shrug01: beats me. But thats pretty bright to be on the inside? Yea three weeks old my rear! there a couple days to a week and a half (maybe a half). Can you still see the slit in there bellies?
Thanks. He is a red hypo translucent.

Yes you can still see their slits in their tummies. But yeah, thats why i've moved the smaller ones into another room from my subadult colony and all will be going to the vets next week to insure it had nothing to do with parasites (pretty sure it wasnt, but rather be safe then sorry)! Wow, mine is a Gala Red x German Giant :) She's a pretty little thing

Yea there hatchlings to a week old... Well if this is the way there going to do buss. hopefully they will be gone as fast as they came. I would still like to know where they are? They can sell on this web site but cant respond to a issue regarding there business.

Selling babies, whether they be dragons, chams, snakes - whatever, that tiny is certainly a clear sign that the seller is either 1) totally inexperienced 2) totally unconcerned about the animal's welfare 3) totally greedy.
Those dragons are way too tiny to have been sold/shipped.

The photos of the baby dragons on the hand posted previously ... is that the seller's photo or the buye'rs/OP's photo?

My hand

Laura, It;s my hand with the baby dragon a day or two after they arrived. If you are speaking of the one with several dragons on a hand that is the sellers photos.

Thanks Jessica. Yes, I was asking specifically about the photo(s) with the multiple dragons on the hand with the red arrows. So that is the seller's photo.
I do know the photo of the dead baby with the yellow belly spot is yours - whether egg sack (does seem a bit high) or smeared urates (seems a bit too concentrated & "clean" to be a smear), I can't say.

That established, if you saw that seller's photo, and you saw how tiny those dragons were, then why would you even entertain the idea of buying them?

I vote all of the above :NoNo:
Poor lil things! I hope they do well for you!

Because, I was told by the seller that they were 6"...maybe all put together they were. Also, I was told as the e-mail above states that the sellers "camera was not working" (opinion) maybe it was, and she just didn't want me to see the "real" baby beardeds she was trying to sell. Because, Note: The dragons on her hands, are a hell of a lot bigger than mine!Mine don't even cover a finger, forget about covering a hand. Yet again, the spot is internal! It is NOT and was not ever external. I thought it was smeared too, but I put them in a bath and touched the spot, not smeared anything. As for egg sac, thats possible as it was directly on the belly slit even though it looks "high".

How were they shipped to you? Was it a next day air service, 2nd day air, or regular ground service?

In your first post it seems they were supposed to be shipped on the 19th for delivery on the 21st?

The dragon in the picture doesn't even look like the sellers photo in my opinion. Not even close. I could see it being smaller due to dehydration from shipping or something but that's too big a difference, at least from what I can see based on the photos. Based on what I've seen I'd have to side with the buyer.

Has dragons and tails been made aware of this post? I'd like to read their defense..

To me, it looks like the pictures the seller sent were photoshopped.
Just saying.

My first thought on seeing those pics was that they were taken under a black-light to make the colors pop out unnaturally. :shrug01: Might be photoshopping...either way, they strike me as suspicious.

Very true. The colors do look like they are under a black light. They definitely do look a lot different in those pictures than in the ones that the OP posted. That's for sure.
