    =====================

    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
    Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

    And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

So my wife decided to go back to school and I sold off all of my reptiles here about six months ago. I knew that someday, I would get back to it as I am a pet person. Upon further review of how much time I would have and our financial situation, I have realized that I can still keep at my hobby ball python breeding. I opted to not breed beardies again due to the time investment and the large clutch sizes.

When I got out of the hobby, I got rid of 99% of my stuff. I have begun acquiring items again to get setup for arrival of new animals. Here is a list of what I have on order:

Freedom Breeder 1010 rack
Herpstat 2 Thermostat
Reptizorb CB 70 Liners
16 oz Deli cups
F10sc disinfectant
F10SCXD cleaner/sanitizer
Pro Exotics temp gun
Various sized hides
Ordering frozen rats and mice here in the near future.

I have not purchased a new incubator as I am still unsure of what route I am wanting to go on that. Am I missing anything?

Tongs, mister/spray bottle or humidifier, maybe PVC couplers for the delis.

I did keep my tongs and mister bottle. The Freedom Breeder rack comes with tubs and I opted for the tubs with the built in holders.

Welcome back! Some things I regularly use... Snake hook. Is your rack heated? I'm guessing yes. Where did you order your 16oz deli's? Quarantine setup. Latex gloves if you use them. I keep my stuff on Aspen. Are you happy with the liners? Can you use the liners with the built in water holders? Hand sanitizer.

Thank you for the suggestions! The rack I have ordered is heated. I ordered the deli cups from Freedom Breeder as well. I do not currently have the rack or liners (getting my wife moved first). I have purchased animals through other Fauna members recently so I have everything timed to be delivered after I am done getting my wife moved and the weather has a chance to cool down a bit.

I used both aspen and news paper before. Aspen was nice as it cut down on the odor a bit. These liners are made for the rack I have purchased and they have the holes already precut. I am anxious to see how they work out.

I forgot I am going to need to get a new space heater as well for the room. I live in SD so when the season changes to winter, it gets fairly cold here.

Ever thought of using an old upright freezer for an incubator? We converted one for cheap. Found a broken one took compressor off and drilled a hole for the cord from the flexwatt to run outside to the thermostat and sealed it with "great stuff". We used 5 feet of 11 inch flexwatt down the center and will be installing fans for next season cause temps were not constant. Incubated 10 clutches this year no problem. Oh and one last thing... PATIENCE!

I actually have a stand up freezer that I occassionaly use for lagering homebrew. I suppose I could convert that and stick to ales for awhile :) .

As for the patience, I am taking a bit different approach to breeding this time. I purchased a few single gene animals that I plan to breed to kind of work my way up. I got a few "higher end" that are 2013 hatchlings that I plan to grow up and breed in the 2016/2017 breeding season.

Here is what I have coming:

Adult Female Spider
Adult Female Cinnamon
Adult Female Pastel
2x 2013 het Pied Females
2013 Lavender Albino Spider Female
2013 Pied Male
Adult Pastel Orange Ghost Male

My goal is to work with the Bumble Bee morph as it is my favorite. It will take me a few years to get where I want to be but I think the wait will be worth it.
