    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

What a mess. Did you omit a message that you used "fowl language" with her? or was that over the phone when she called your work place?

Also, to even begin to consider yourself a professional when you explode like that over a business transaction is troubling. The slew of profanity that was regurgitated from this individual once you upset her is CRAZY. It really does not matter how emotionally invested you are in a situation, you need to have the ability to take a step back and approach it like an adult.
 
Also, she stated that only a RN or "doctor" (MD) can diagnose. From my understanding there are certain medical professionals that can diagnose / prescribe within their scope of practice. PA's, Nurse practitioners, Mid-wives and such come to mind, but RN's can never diagnose, EVER. From my understanding at least.

I appreciate all the work you did to attach all of your evidence, one plus is that it is a lot more readable.
I am horrified by the language used by this seller and would never purchase from them after seeing what they said.

There is probably more than that, but that's just a quick search. Seeing as how he has a -1 in trader ratings, I know I would never do business with him. Couple that with his highly negative karma and that's a total kick to the curb.

I agree. I was waiting to see what the seller would come up with, in the hopes that maybe he had improved since those threads were written. Obviously, that is not the case.

Michael Brown, I did not intend to omit a message, it was hard to keep track of all that I uploaded, I apologize. I did say one "foul" word. I will attach the screenshot in this message, as I have nothing to hide. I was not at work when she called, our receptionist called me and told me what happened. Everyone at my work knows about this since I have been concerned about the health of my dragon, so they called me immediately. I do not think my place of work should have been involved, regardless of her "not anything that could get me fired," it is bringing in unnecessary drama for me. She only got my place of work from Facebook.

I was not implying you had anything to hide, I just didn't know what she was referring to. Thanks for clearing it up.

How much are you "out" in vet bills? How much was the bearded dragon? Out of curiosity.

Are you still interested in some sort of resolution? or just sharing your experience? (which is greatly appreciated fyi!)
 
In vet bills it's not too bad, but only because I get a discount at my work. But I've also had to buy Critical Care and pay for expedited shipping, purchase Acidophilus, and I'm going to be sending out the ADV test. I'm counting these as expenses because obviously had she bern healthy I would not have these costs. I would say total I'm out $115.
Here is a break down of what it would have cost if I was not an employee.
Exotic exam $75
Fecal $24
Albon $45 (thereabouts, I am not sure of our cost to clients, it may be more)
SC fluids $35
Retest Fecal $22

We are also trying to give her gut a break before trying another dewormer, as her retest fecal showed an even higher coccidia load. I am also syringe feeding her daily.

I don't think there will be a resolution based on their attitude, they made that clear. At this point I'm just sharing the experience. This whole thing has just sucked, quite frankly. I love my animals, I hate to see any of them suffer.

There is some good literature out on treatments that may be a better choice than the Albon. Ponazuril and paromomycin have both been used to totally clear coccidia (including Cryptosporidium ssp) in bearded dragons.

See Grosset, Claire, et al. "Cryptosporidiosis in juvenile bearded dragons (Pogona vitticeps): effects of treatment with paromomycin." Journal of Herpetological Medicine and Surgery 21.1 (2011): 10-15.

Bogoslavsky, B. A. "The use of ponazuril to treat coccidiosis in eight inland bearded dragons (Pogona vitticeps)." Proc ARAV (2007): 8-9.

You also might want to check the animal for microsporidiosis as it isn't uncommon for beardeds with coccidians to also be positive for this parasite and the symptoms can overlap with coccidial infections.

We have looked into Ponazuril, and unfortunately need to have it compounded. An admin in one of the Beardie Groups told me Toltrazuril may also be effective and not quite as harsh. I will definitely look into the Paromomycin as well. I thought there was no cure for Crypto? We do not carry any of these and will have to gave them shipped. Unfortunately I am in the middle of this hurricane coming as well, so I don't think we'll be able to get anything in this week. I also won't be able to send out the ADV test until next week either. I really appreciate the help.

Seriously though, it appears, to me, that the seller is the one who was making things more difficult than they had to be. Not because the seller wanted a vet report but because the seller was being rather obtuse (deliberately or not) about what you stated re. the dragon. Was there room for you to be clearer? Sure, but the seller took incomprehension to a higher level than need be. Seller also twisted a bit of what you had stated. smh

I do not blame you for getting mad, at the seller, for calling your workplace and naming you, etc., etc. (rather than keeping it to neutral, professional, questions re. exams/reports).

Seller's foul language was appalling, unprofessional and uncalled for. Plus, unlike yours, was to an extreme.

It does not seem that Inked Dragons is inclined to do anything to help you out nor to give any sort of compensation. Even if given proof. It is a shame.

I do wish the best, for your Beardie, in recovery, etc.

Lethargy can be from many different things, I did however say dehydration is not normal. Relocation stress causes animals to not eat as much, and force feeding/constant handling certainly doesn't help and can make the coccidia load worse. However each animal is different and I'm not sure how she is coping with you handling her, so I could be completely wrong in this case. Also even if you have never had an issue it doesn't necessarily mean anything. I've had a healthy Croc Skink die when his fecal samples came back clean and two weeks later his necropsy showed tons of protozoa. Never had that happen before and I've been herping since I was 9.
Hopefully she is doing somewhat better (I haven't seen a post directly detailing her current condition) and I hope you also plan to do more research before buying reptiles online.

I'm also in no way trying to defend this seller, obviously they are hiding something.

Until the studies were done for paromomycin and ponazuril that was the accepted standard but the studies in bearded dragons included not only fecal checks but histopathology so unlike Albon which doesn't eliminate the infection but simply gets it under control until the immune system catches up those two drugs appear to eliminate the parasite from the animal (at least in bearded dragons).

We can discuss it some more if you want to shoot me a pm but I should stop taking the thread off course.

1.) Ship the dragon back, get a refund.
2.) Write the whole thing off and warn the rest of us.

You have seem to take the last option, it is the one I would have done too.

I would not want to ship her back and cause more stress for her. My only intent was to shed light on this whole thing because, again, I do not anticipate they would want to do anything. I can provide a screen shot of the message when I get off work. I had asked about a health guarantee since it is a general question I always ask if the seller does not have a page with the Terms of Service.
