    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

I hear you, Matt. But (and not to give him any ideas) I can get your social security number and a copy of your dirver's license in a day if not in 20 minutes. And I can start applying for credit in your name with that info. And so can he. Thing is you do not know for certain what he will do next and short of legal action (and maybe in spite of it anyway) you can be put through a lot of trouble fixing your credit report and getting a new social security number.

It has happened to people I know....more than once.

You know him better than I do, and you know what's best for you no doubt way better than I do. So all I can say is that if it was me, I would take action to make him uncomfortable so he thinks twice about the legal consequences of stalking you. Because he is stalking you. Make no mistake about that.

He has already posted before that he had my social and other info so that's not new news but thanks for the advice on that one. It's terrible that someone could do that to someone else but hey impersonating me is really bad too. I realize he is stalking me, harrassing me, an trying to torture me in a way but he really isn't worth any significant investment of time or money at this point. If you look at the guy he has absolutely destroyed his own image, reputation, and business....he is his own worst enemy

I agree, that's why I posted those links to sites that I think have info on cyberstalking. Matt, you got info from one guy who was getting e-mails in your name, and he figured it out, or knew they weren't from you. The possibility is that someone else, or even many people may be getting these e-mails and think it is you. I've been into herps for 30 years and breeding for 10 and if I got one of those e-mails I wouldn't have known the difference (well, I would now, but you know what I mean). Even if it doesn't bother you, you would be doing us, and all humanity a favor, by getting this guy into some legal trouble. JMHO
 
When I first started reading all the things between them and you, Matt, I found it amusing that they could waste their time that way, but now I find it a bit creepy. :bolt01:

Hey Jim,

There were actually a bunch of e-mails! They went to my friend Jim Scharphorn who Bobby and Tim have also been harrassing over the years. Jim believed the e-mails were from me and he was saying stuff like "Matt I thought we were friends" and that kind of stuff. The e-mails were really bad and I could see why he was so mad at me....I guess Pruetts plan worked for a short time. Thankfully Jim and I have talked and he knows the e-mails were not from me.

As far as the site being down this is what Pruett posted on The Rachodactylus Network Forums recently:

Poor little queeny thinks he got ghireptiles.com shut down LOL Hate to bust your dream world bubble but that was just a starter page that was put up until the main website is finished. Just for the record I took it down and I only bought the name from yahoo, they don't host the site LOL... All the text(tons of it) is being double checked so you wont be able to cry like the little b!tch you are. Unlike the garbage you and the punks sucking your ****, all the text posted is proven facts. Well it seems the guy is so bent on dedicating his life to disrupting mine that he will try and plans on trying to do it again.....he clearly states so right here in his own post. Thanks liquidleaf but he clearly seems to have no intention of stopping anytime soon.

At least when people do go to ghireptiles.com it gets semi-directed to this thread and they can see what is really going on.

It doesn't 'pain' me at all but the guy has been posting the same facts for years now and it seems he is mad that nobody hates me for doing something wrong in the business almost ten years ago, so mad that he seems to be obsessed with screwing with me constantly. :shrug01:

You have been up front about that and it seems that you have a lot of years between then and now and have evidently been a stand up guy during that time.

You paid your debt in whatever way was required and did right after that. I think they call that learning.

You should not have to suffer for this guy's lack of having a life. If you didn't have that past, about which you are open, he would find other ways to harrass you.
 
Oh without a doubt Jim.....he just feeds off the past animal experience. He has gone after others but I seem to be special to him. Maybe because every lie he posts I have a truthful answer to or maybe because I busted him when he ripped me off....who knows what makes this guy tick. All I know is from what he has told me in the past about himself and from what I have seen and still am seeing from him, he is bad news and people need to know exactly what kind of person he is so they don't have to go through the same things.
 
I am not sure which thread I should add this to, but I think this would be best since it concerns two of the three people involved. After all, Tom Crutchfield has plenty of publicity all on his own right now. Anyway, I just received this e-mail fromm one Mr. Bobby Pruett.

Well Bobby, I was not aware that I was defending Matt, but maybe I have somewhere here (you and Timmy have given me and others more than enough opportunities to do so). While it may have been the same sting, I do not know if the cases were related. It was also Matt's first offence, and from my understanding nothing close to as serious as Toms offense. Tom was busted TWICE. His first offense alone was totally out of line. Smuggling Figi Island Banded Iguanas??? Sure makes one wonder if he is crazy. And then he goes and gets busted again as part of an international smuggling ring of rare and endangered reptiles. At that point all doubt is removed and you know he is crazy. He should have pled insanity. Also Matt never ripped anyone off, which is more than I can say for you or Tom. Sorry Bobby, but Matt and Tom are two different people, and your silly attempt to dirty his name has only served to make you look even worse than before.

Now my question to you. Did you ever send that kid his cornsnake or $40.00 like you promised?

Thanks for seeing it James. It was my first and last offence in the animal world because I have better things to do than go through that hassle again.

Speaking of 'snitching' Bobby....is that what you would call what Tim Bowles did when he filed three false complaints against me, Tony, and Ken. When you claimed you were working with USF&W against me about a year ago.....was that 'snitching' or were you just full of hot air trying to be a tough sounding guy. You remember part of the incident...you posted a picture of Tim Bowles Truck in fornt of a USF&W office and you posted to my, "are you scared now pu$$y?" So what did you "snitch' about that day? Anything? Nothing? Just trying to be tough? What's the real story? Couldn't have been much since nothing ever happened.

Everybody needs to beware of this guy and his business practices because if he gets the chance he'll get you every time.
 
Hey Bobby, there is one more huge difference between ol Tom, and Matt. Matt has no problem coming here and defending himself and discussing his violation. I admire him for that. Do you see Tom coming here defending himself or discussing his legal problems? I sure haven't. However, not long after his bust, I do remember seeing a big ad in Reptiles Magazine with him trying to capitalize on his stupidity by selling Figi Island Banded Iguana T-shirts. The ad said something like "FIGI ISLAND IGUANAS FOR SALE". It seemed to be in bad taste in my opinion. I have not seen Matt making a joke out of his bust. On the contrary, it seems that Matt took it very serious and as a wake-up call. That is more than I can say for Tom. By the way, Bobby, I have seen that report that you posted already. I believe it was posted by Tim Bowles on a corallus forum that he is now banned from because of his constant trouble making and need for attention (kinda like when he got banned from this site). Anyway, I read it then, and it did not change my opinion of Matt. Anyway, I really do not know Matt, but I would do business with him, which is more than I can say for you, Tim, or Tom for that matter. Now don't you have some bird food you can go package as gecko diet to keep you busy for a while?

Sucks this guy is stalking you. Maybe at this moment in time you find it a tad bit "complimenting"!? But let me break it down to you in another fashion.

First off let me lead this by saying you MUST get some form of legal consultation or just file harrassment charges, something, ANYTHING. Why? When a Serial Killer is killing his victims, he doesnt stop because he get's bored of it, he continues to do so because he's GETTING AWAY WITH IT! They dont stop until they get caught. The natural human defense, is offense. Since his ethics have been verbally attacked, he's gone on his defensive, which is offensive. He needs, i stress NEEDS, to use someone(You) or something(your business) else to re-direct the negative attention to. Or maybe he has some vendetta against you for this supposed "snitching" Either way, the concept is the same as the Serial Killer. He's getting away with it, and won't stop until he's "caught" which in turn means "turned in, or charged". He's getting his rocks off on you, it's "floating his boat" to screw your life up. It'll just escalate into worse occurences, do you want it to get SO bad that you face negative repercussions, whether financial or legal, because you didnt step up and do something when you had the thought to?

This is just my opinion, but i (as well as others in this thread) dont think he's going to stop AT ALL! It WILL escalate and become quite a problem. Get it solved now while it takes minimal effort from you, instead of having to battle it out later.

He does get away with it to a point. I have contacted the police in his town of Sandusky and in my town and county both. They all know all about him as an officer in Sandusky explained to me. There have been numerous complaints filed against him from both herp and dog deals. The community knows all about him and it has hurt him business-wise for sure. I am not the only person who has had problems with him....a lot of people have.

He has no vendetta against me for giving 'full disclosure' and he even told me that he himself has been in jail for assault so he held nothing against me for getting house arrest for 6 months. He is angry because he can't make people hate me like he does. he e-mails my customers and friends and tries to turn them but he gets more aggrivated when they don't listen to him. He may take it to a more 'stalking' type level but he's got a big surprise in store when he does it. I am pretty sure he isn't that stupid to continue as he has had some pretty substantial warnings as of late. Hopefully all is calm and he will find someone else to harass. Thanks for the thoughts!

I wouldn't expect him to stop until he is given no other choice. He's as stable as a fat drunk man on roller skates. People like him do not just stop on their own, they need to be stopped.
 
Looks like Bobby is still around, selling on Facebook these days. Saw his ad in a local group earlier today and just thought it warranted a bump.
