    =====================

I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

I DID NOT buy from these guys, but the ad is enough to turn my stomach and warn others.

Several threads were deleted on the site that this ad is on when people were discussing it, BUT THE AD GOT TO STAY!

This is a very ill animals, these people should be reported for abuse and neglect, not allowed to advertize it for sale.

Ad on KS

Rich, if this is not allowed, I am sorry, this really is pitiful and I think they certainly qualify as a BAD GUY

That poor dragon, not in their defense because if they don't know anything about the animals then they shouldn't own them, but maybe they honestly don't think anything is wrong with her,,,NOT STICKING UP FOR THEM AT ALL, that poor things needs to be taken away and to a vet.,..but life isn't perfect so it probably won't happen...I e-mailed them, we'll see if they reply back...

Excuse my ignorance, but I don't know anything about bearded dragons. Could someone detail exactly what is wrong with the dragon? Just so that I'll understand and perhaps if ever I get one, I will be able to recognize bad things as well as good things.

Thanks.

Difference in a healthy dragon and a not healthy one

This is a healthy dragon:

I've never seen such an emaciated dragon! The way they eat almost anything you feed them, you just KNOW these people have been starving this animal out of absolute neglect!

People like this ought to be horsewhipped! I've got one one down at the barn, if we decide to follow through with that course of action, by the way!

I am glad you posted that pic Cheri, the link has expired.
That dragon is in horrible shape!!!
I hope they do come on here to explain how they could let a dragon get in such shape let alone try to sell it!!!
Shows me just how much they know and on that basis I wouldn't buy from them.
That is just sickening.

That animal is pitiful. The only time I have seen beardeds in that poor of shape is if they were starved or had coccidia. I would not doubt that animal is suffering from both. There is no reason to EVER let an animal (much less a bearded) get to that shape. I hope this person comes on here as I would like to hear their reasoning for being such a poor excuse of a human.

Cheri, have you or anyone else in this thread made any attempt to contact these people and inform them that this thread about them exists? I would like to hear what they have to say.

Gee, that looks like an animal from Upstate Exotics!

I emailed them yesterday inquiring if they realized this dragon was very ill, to give them the chance to explain that maybe there did not realize it.

Having more experience with a problem in bearded dragons than I care to, this animal also looks like it has yellow fungal infections on its head and back at the tail section, that takes months to develop to that point and if they were not aware of it I wanted to direct them to the group that is working with this and healing dragons successfully. I received no response so I can only assume they don't care. That is when I decided to add this post here.

Should someone buy that animal, it will infect their entire colony and it is fatal if untreated with few vets or breeders aware of it at this time or how easy it is to treat. Their ad said she was beautiful, eating well and would go fast..... she will, she is close to terminal now!

I have not emailed them since placing this post, I wanted to see if others were seeing the same thing I am.

Well, it's perfectly clear that beardie is on deaths door. And you have every right and responsiblity to make other beardie lovers aware of it in my opinion. I just wanted to make sure that an effort to contact them was made.

A few people did E-Mail me after I made the original thread pointing out this ad over on the KS beardy forum... They told me had E-Mailed them - some messages trying to be as polite as possible, some shouldn't be repeated, heh.

Anyways, this is the E-Mail address of this "person", so feel free to contact them, get their opinions, and invite them to join in this thread.

The only time I have seen a beardie that bad.. was during a rescue when a dragon in a 10 gallon cage was found in an attic.. it had been up there for 6 to 8 months without food, water, light and heat. That is just disgusting.

She has just now replied to my email, she claims the dragon was a rescue..... but I wonder about selling for $150 a rescue, a very sick and emanciated one at that, we had 8 we took in in June and all those are now healthy and thriving and have been placed free in good homes, here is one of them, she weighted 34 grams when she arrived, 7 weeks later after A lot of medical care and feeding a good balanced diets, she is 159 grams:
3Blanca2-med.jpg

This is a rehab rescue, and finding a good home was more important than money for them, certainly not like the one she has for sale.

I commend anyone that takes in abused or ill animals and spends the time and MONEY to get them back into healthy shape, but calling yourself a rescue to get free reptiles and sell for a profit with no medical care is even worse than I thought. There should be something controling that

I have invited her here and given her the URL so she can explain this situation if she chooses

very sad indeed.........

i dont know how they can let an animal get like that, and you dont turn around like Cheri said and sell a "rescue" without even seeing to it that it recieved medical attention, which it is very clear that dragon didnt. Selling a rehabilitated animal to a good home and recovering some of the medical costs in a sale is one thing, but what this person was doing is something totally wrong, i dont think that girl would even make it through shipping. I do hope they come and clarify things if we are totally offbase here (which i dont think we are) couldnt beleive my eyes when i was browsing the classifieds and saw that, pure neglect.

Well according to some others that contacted her, she claims 10 years experience with bearded dragons, so that should make her about one of the most experienced in the United States. And she sees nothing wrong with the beardie. Several offers to take it, even pick it up and get it medical treatment was declined with she does not give up her dragons.

So unless someone wants to pay $150 for a dragon she received as a rescue a month ago and has had no medical care........ this dragon is history.....

The world is full of such caring people.... about their wallet at the expense of an animals.

We will try to contact the humane society in their hometown and traced the IP, its a software company and we will also contact them, she appears to either own it or work for it.

well let us know how you make out, hopefully something can be done, apparantly she has no concern about the welfare of that beardie, i hope it can find its way out of her hands, or like you said, poor girl is probably done for, very unfortunate

That's bad

Only 2 words come to mind when I see that dragon ...... "already dead" ... hate to say it but what do you think the chances of it even surviving shipping would be? and would you be willing to sell an animal in that condition in person? People like that should head right on back to Stupidville and turn in their animals at the gate ...... Once again .... just my opinion, but it seems I"m not alone on this one.

Maybe that is just a before picture... lets hope. The beardie that I rescued and rehabbed in similar condition (actually.. worse condition) cost well over 200 dollars in vet bills.. and close to 3 months in time and effort. For those that do not have the funds available to cover the costs of the rehab... 150 is a fair price.. but.. if that is not a before picture.. then... thats a different story

No she was clear to me and others, no medical care, no vet, no treatment, she sees nothing wrong. She stated she fed it and it ate good... she claims 10 years experience with bearded dragons, thats all I know.

Several have offered to have it treated, even drive there to pick it up..... she states she" does not give *her* animals away", she takes them in given away and sells them I guess.

She has been given this URL by me and others, and invited to come and say her side. Perhaps we are all wrong and seeing things, since a 10 year experienced rehaber has her for sale like that. Maybe she did not notice and called a vet today and is taking off work tomorrow to have her checked so she can come on here and clear all this misunderstanding up with a Vet statement of treatment and clean health or treatment plan :D Maybe she uses the fees to care for others more needy and thought the dragon was fine..... I am willing to listen

BTW, we found out she is the manager of E-Commerce, BMC Software, Houston, Texas and have a location address.
