    =====================

I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

I'm a Vegetarian, been one for many years. I just wanted to see if anyone else lives the same life style on here...

Pretty much everyone that finds I am can't believe it, they seem to have some weird stereotype that vegetarians look a certain way. I throw them off that stupid stereotype since I'm covered in Tattoos with a shaved head and beard.

And to those who have a retarded comment, keep it to yourself... I've heard them all!

covered in Tattoos = Check
have a shaved head = Check
has some facial hair = Check
lives in Pennsylvania = Check
no meat consumption = Failed

For a minute I almost matched you but don't share the believes or objective you do in living that life style. Honestly I probably lack the willpower needed if I did anyway but commend you on your decision & sticking to it especially after read about some possible major health benefits.

Thanks Chris

I found out the Health benefits way after I became one. I'm not one who goes and preaches about it, but I'll explain in answers from peoples questions about it.

You live in Pville long?

I actually grew up in Norristown, but when I found out I was having a child I sold my house & rented a place there with my now wife figuring it was a better area. I actually needed to update my profile though because I just bought another place right on the outskirts of North Coventry that I plan on staying at for a long while. Pretty quiet area, older neighbors, & decent school district. How about yourself, have you always lived in the area? I know I seen you around the here on the site but have to admit the name sounds pretty familiar.

North Coventry is really nice, it's alot better then being in the middle of Pottstown lol. I was born and lived in NJ till I was 13 and then spent the next 20yrs in Boyertown.

I saw you on a couple threads and I was going to shoot you a PM since you live close by just to BS.

feel free hit me up anytime, I could use a few local buddies that share the same interest in snakes, etc. It would be cool to have someone to call to check out a reptile show, share info with, or reach out to if ever in a jam. I just posted a thread in the Preparedness & Self-Reliance Forum about how I was out of power for 5 days with the storm. I was pretty prepared but things don't always go right & it would be nice to have someone else around if needed that cared about these critter like I do.

Ive tried vegetarian before but my job requires a lot of physical effort. I personally could not function as one but have found that my overall health has been greatly improved with paleo diet. Pretty simple no processed food lol. Everybody's body reacts slightly different so if that works for you best of luck.
P.s.
Shaved head-check
Beard- check
Tattoos-check
Below PA- check
Meat- oh yeah lol

I just have to not eat bread and sugar. The Paleo thing is interesting. One of my friends has been doing it for 2 years now. She feels she has a lot more energy.

My philosophy about eating is pretty simple. I eat what my appetite wants. I figure I'm going to die from SOMETHING anyway, so I might as well enjoy life and if something I like kills me, then so be it. I'd rather die happy than to live unhappy.

Of course, I sure would like to lose 15 lbs. But Connie has been kind of bored with retirement and is making WAY too many cakes and cookies. And I've been having a problem with plantar fasciitis in my left foot that has put a damper on my doing much out in the yard for quite a while now. So that hasn't helped one bit being a couch potato. But on the bright side, been getting pretty good at Borderlands 2 in the meantime..... :AR15firin

I would be vegetarian if I could or at least reduce my consumption of meat but I am way too picky to leave it out of my diet which is unhealthy enough already. :/
I wish the way humans treated animals bred for food was more humane.

ha! Sounds perfect, cake and destruction! Tyler and I play all the time on xbox. We finally found Michael Mamaril but it only gave the cheevo to one of us (he let me have it 'cause he's awesome like that).
:D

The whole reason why I became Vegetarian. My wife showed me a couple videos taken under cover of slaughter houses, it was sickening.

After I watched it I kinda forgot about it and continued eating meat. A week later I was eating veal picannte, in the middle of eating I looked down at my plate and the images of the poor animals just flooded my mind. I got up and ran to the bath room, throw up and my wife and I have been Vegetarians since.

I don't hold anything against you :censored: meat eaters lol
I just chose not to be part of the cruelty and consumption of animals.

I'm not a vegetarian but in the last few years have developed a taste for peppers, eggplants or tomatoes (from my garden) brushed with olive oil, seasoned, and roasted on the charcoal bbq.

Oven cooked faves include baked butternut squash, stuffed sweet peppers, stuffed cabbage rolls and eggplant parmigiana.
I think people would eat more veggies if they took the time to learn how to cook them, more than just defrosting and boiling a bag of frozen from the store.

I coming over for dinner Lucille!

I was never a veggie person until I stopped eating meat. Now I enjoy them.... Mom and Dad would be proud!

Not really im built to thrive off animal protein and animal fat, my teeth are built for it and my digestive tract is. If you where against eating something living then you must also sustain from vegetables cause they to are living organisms

Actually not true, at all...

Maybe you need to do some research, I did mine years ago when I started.
It's entirely your opinion, which is fine since we all have one. But don't come here and tell me something that you have no idea about.

I've heard this retarded argument many times, and like I said in the first post, " If you have a retarded comment, keep it to yourself "

Its like when girls cry "i dont eat meat" (which is perfectly fine thats your choice) but then continue on that its "so cruel" and then pull out there Lipstick which was tested on animals from there LEATHER purse (from animal) or adjusts her leather belt (from animal) around her waist. Just one example. But again its not cruel to consume. The average meat processing facility probably performs a lot of cruel treatments of the animals but that doesnt translate to someone who eats it. I personally would work at a place like that and would do my best not to treat the animal cruelly but im not responsible for other people
