    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Just wondering if anyone else on this site is a computer gaming netjunky like myself. And if so, if anyone would be interested in joining me for a game or two. ;)

I currently play Counter Strike and Halflife the most right now under the screen name BlackTreePython, but I am also on Starcraft as well as Warcraft 3 every once in a while. My battle.net screen name is Prof00.

Maybe we can get together online and have a Faunaclassifieds cult love-bombing fest. :D

Yes BUT...

It's usually Diablo II LoD and occasionally Command and Conquer games. Warcraft, Warcraft II, Starcraft all had an accident and i haven't gotten around to replacing the CDs yet.

Haven't tried Warcraft III.

Refuse to pay for World of Warcraft when it's released.

Which leaves me with Diablo II on US West... Waiting for V 1.10... and waiting... and waiting...

I'm a nerd. Been playing the Diablo games since I got my first computer in 1997. It's all I play now, D2 LoD what I get the chance. Hadn't really played in a few months, but then I started a new Bowazon a couple weeks ago.

Stupid 1.10... once it finally goes online, I'll be there too on
US East if anyone wants to play, just message me on Satyrday, (of course... think I might have had that account longer then the website - lol!)

I built a really unsuccessful poison based necro with massive numbers of unused skill points and was leaving him around as a mule...

Filled in the skill tree with synergy bonuses... Mwuhahaha!

The additional HPs and massive number of unique monsters have made it slightly more difficult but the massive boost to magic drops and frequency of uniques (plus the new unique charms) have me playing the game with a frequency that I haven't in months.

'course nobody else is on USWest, so I'm left with the consideration ofcreating an account for USEast... Can't have a fauna gaming group and find myself left out, I'm a senior zombie after all... Which I think just means I have too much free time for posting on internet forums, but I still feel a responsibility.
 
Cool! I've never played a Necro before. I've always been told they're really hard. Just 'zons, sorcs, a trapassin, and a ww druid.
Was playing with the druid last night, just by myself, and the World Event triggered, (and I've never even seen a soj, let alone sold one) and of course the Diablo clone promptly kicked my ass.
O-well.
Hey - tell you what, when I'm playing online, I'll make a game called Fauna, pass lovebomb and if anyone happens to be there and wants to play - Sweet!

Okay I'm pretty sure I'm the dork here but. Do any of you play Turn based games?

Only online game I play is pimpwar.com and I basicly play because I'm a numbers person, pimpwar is all based in numbers.

To do very well you have to be fairly smart, (so I don't know why i do well) have a good understanding of numbers, and pretty good skills at deciding what your best options are base on what makes the most mathmatical sense.

Okay yeah you go find whores and thugs, make crack, do drive bys and stuff like that but it's all in the numbers.

Too bad I didnt see this topic sooner, maybe its because I never really looked. :( I spend way too much time playing games on my computer. Right now I'm addicted to Call of Duty and Age of Mythology. I love games, all sorts too. I'm also one of those nuts who checks thier email every 10 minutes or so at 2 AM waiting for a reply that any 'normal' person would have no trouble waiting until morning to recieve.

If anyone could possibly be curious to see if I have a game you have, my aim is pugslilhelper.
