    =====================

I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

  • It's currently 10:41pm. Lol. My birthday's Oct 19th. :) I'll be in Vegas the week of my birthday! Woo!
Hey Cameleon have you searched a website called shipreptiles.com they ship to Europe just so you know..
No worries Col! :) I know how it is getting caught up in chores... Plenty of those around here with all of the critters ;) Thanks for the well-wishes on my breeding projects! WOW, 6 months just to hatch? Whew! I don't think I'd have the patience for that :D But I'm sure the little baby faces poking out from their eggs is VERY rewarding when it finally does happen! Hope you have a great day :)

Pretty good. :) Just been planning things out for my birthday party. Lots of things to get! It's going to be a busy day! How's your day been? Mine's just getting started. :)
WOW, that's a lot of eggs! I don't know anything about cham breeding/incubation - heard it can take some time though! How long do eggs incubate?

As for me, breeding season will start in Nov, so I don't have any eggs right now. I do have a litter of Kenyan Sand Boas due any day - I will be keeping 1.1 and then giving one to my mom for a pet. The rest will be going with my group of adults to my friend who specializes in Sand Boas. I'm excited, as these will be my first boa (live-birth) babies ever!

I have 2, possibly 3 breedings planned this year in Ball Pythons - I'm breeding my Mojave boy to my Lesser female for Blue-Eyed Leucistics, also breeding him to a Spider female for Mojobees, and then this week I am getting an adult female Pastel from a friend. If she makes weight before the end of the season she will also be paired with the Mojave for Pastaves. I've never produced morphs before, so this is a BIG year for me! I really hope I get some good clutches, and good odds!
Sorry for taking so long! Whew! Yes, this site is full of very friendly people - of course in every community there are bad apples though. Don't let one ruin them all ;) Thank you for the compliments as well! :) How are you doing today?
Thanks Col. Always great to meet new people into chams. If you dont already know chameleonforums.com has some awesome info on that site.
Aww, I hope your mother is feeling better and gets well soon! VERY cool collection you have! I really like both of those types of Chams, but I have never owned any Chameleons. Always thought they were neat, but I don't currently keep any reptiles that require UVB lighting. Just makes it easier for me, lol. I am on a 3rd shift schedule, and all of my reptiles live in my bedroom so the lighting would make things difficult anyhow. Maybe someday I will keep them though :) I do want some of the little pygmy chameleons since they don't require special lighting. And they are darn cute!

Speaking of furry critters, I also have a few. No doggies, but I do have 3 awesome cats. All fixed of course, 2 boys and 1 girl. Their names are Frisky Biskins, Butterscotch and Mookie. Lol! I also have a small breeding colony of both rats and mice to help offset the cost of feeders for the snakes. Oh, and a colony of dubia roaches to feed the tarantula :) A beautiful A. versicolor.

I've been a member of Fauna for nearly 6 years now, hard to believe. I LOVE this site. I'm a member of many other sites as well but this is definitely my "home". I also quite enjoy iHerp.com, you should join! You can see my collection here on there...

You're in England? How awesome! I would love to go there sometime. I've always lived in Ohio, quite boring if you ask me. I've only visited a few other states and I've never been out of the country. Things are pretty bad here as far as economy and politics go - and of course, we've been at war for almost my entire lifetime. Pretty crazy to think of really. I can't wait till it's over, and I hope things get better soon but I don't really think they will. Greedy politicians cause too many problems for the common man!

That is too bad your wife won't let you keep snakes - they are charming animals who are very misunderstood. I've kept several different species but I've been keeping the Ball Pythons for the past 10 years. I don't think I'll ever be without them :) Maybe if she would meet a nice snake in person she would reconsider? :) My fiance isn't a reptile guy, but he thinks they are neat and lets me keep them. He draws the line at venomous though, hehe.

    I'll catch you later!
    Abby
Hello! Thanks for the request :) I'm doing great, yourself? Right now I currently keep Ball Pythons, Kenyan Sand Boas (Although I am sending the majority of them away to a friend), and Rhacodactylus Geckos. How about you? The vacation sounds nice! I've never been to NY myself :) Oh, and Ohio is okay - I'd like to live somewhere else honestly though ;) ttyl!
If you get homesick while you are in NYC you can check out the Manchester Pub On East 49 street and Second Avenue in Midtown. Its a short cab ride from where you are staying and they always got some "football" on the telly!
It looks like the storm will miss us, just going to get some rain and light wind. It should be all clear for your trip over here on the other side of the pond. Enjoy!
Hello, that is great you have so many chameleons! Thanks for your interest in the chams I have available at the moment. Where are you at in the U.K? My guess is shipping to the U.K would be quite expensive, permits and paperwork may possibly be needed also.
