    =====================

I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Bad Guy Raging Reptiles ,buyer beware

The fact of the matter is. The seller should not have a problem refuning my money asap and should not have gotten an attitude with me to start with. As for the trade. He would have made a few bucks off that. As far as Mike Shultz. I've ordered from him and he's a good guy. But Prolly needs to give Sean a lesson in buisness etiquette. I do recommend outback reptiles because he really hooked me up on some garaters early this year. Sorry bout that Mike. Sean. You need to be responsible and update your site so this doesn't happen to know one else, and refund my money.as for every one that ever orders from me. My customers are always first.

Perhaps this is why?

Ok. And if he would have just said. I need this amount extra to equal out the shipping we would have had a deal. Instead. I get, I am NOT covering shipping cost

While I certainly do not agree with Sean not proceeding with a refund in a timely manner, as well as the ever popular legal threat, I can understand his frustration regarding this situation. Joseph appears to be a problematic customer who refuses to use rational thinking in regards to the whole experience and in all probability has escalated the situation with his aggressive attitude.
In my mind both are in the wrong however Joseph certainly comes off looking worse than the subject of this thread. Another one for the "do not do business with" category.

Cool. Send me some money then and don't say nothing when I don't send u nothing in return. The fact is. If I post something for sale. You get that exact animal with a full guarantee. But when you pay me. I give you the animal you want or a refund then. And 8 don't sell to just anyone. And since you requested it. You are on my do not sell to list now.

BTW Sean, a friendly word of advice, never assume a person's location solely based on their area code. Sure, the area code could represent a person's location but there are also many people who have cell phones with a different area code than their actual location.

This is true, but it's a good idea to verify location if sending an animal that may be illegal / require permitting in the given area code.

Thanks, I hope those garters are doing well!

I do every time. I requite a copy of drivers license, and permits if required. I also talk with the buyer to make sure they can house the animal I sell them correctly. That's why I don't sell to everyone. I have some very spectacular yellow tail cribo morphs coming available next fall. First of their kind. Only a few lucky people will get these

Demonseed38 is accused of being "irrational", and having an " aggressive attitude", and the immediate rebuttal is aggressive. Lol. You're not shining a good light on yourself when you condescend other members of fauna.

If you're getting the refund you're asking for, then why escalate this thread further?

So many of these threads just end up looking bad for everyone involved.

Very true. I want it made right like any responsible buisness owner would do. It's one thing if I had gotten the animals I paid for and something happened during shipping or something. But that is totally not the case here

Sorry guys, I was typing my previous comment when other comments came through that I didn't get to read. Hence, the timing of my post is off, I apologize

It is evident that you should get a refund.
I believe very, very, few people (if any) would dispute that.
How you go about obtaining that refund is important though.
Just remain reasonable & professional, in what you do/say, and all should be well (re. how people view you).

Just saw where you bumped up a decade+ old BOI inquiry thread, on Raging Reptiles, just so you could add something, about this current situation, in another location/thread.
Smooth move.
Are you doing this elsewhere, on Fauna, too?

I assume that's a typo, I was only talking about retics, since somebody with a Florida area code left me a message asking about a retic.

Fauna's ability to get sidetracked and pick apart minor mundane details is impressive!

That's what I thought Mike, just thought it was odd because I know people who have worked with you before and I'm like I'm pretty sure they know the law. haha.

Anyway, I think our OP needs to calm down a bit...as long as a refund is offered for an out of stock. I don't see any issue seeing he didn't inquire about availability first.

Did I miss something?

It's a retic. They are still leagal. It's ashamed though about the burmese.

"Conditional reptiles are not allowed to be acquired for personal possession. Reptile dealers, researchers and public exhibitors may apply for a permit to import or possess conditional snakes and lizards.

People who owned one of the following species, now listed as conditional species, before July 1, 2010 may keep their animal for the remainder of its life. These pet owners must maintain a valid reptile of concern license for these animals.

Indian or Burmese python (Python molurus)
Reticulated python (Python reticulatus)
Northern African python (Python sebae)
Southern African python (Python natalensis)
Amethystine python (Morelia amethistinus)
Scrub python (Morelia kinghorni)
Green anaconda (Eunectes murinus)
Nile monitor (Varanus niloticus)

Anyone who possesses a former reptile of concern and can no longer keep their animal may relinquish it at a Nonnative Pet Amnesty Day event or to a licensed reptile dealer. A map of licensed reptile dealers is available online."
