I have been out of boas for quite a while now (since about 2010). I had a house fire, lost almost everything, but the snakes were in a separate area that mostly survived the fire. I ended up having to let a friend out of town keep them for a while and they didn't get the best care. I got married, got them back home, got them healthy and started producing again. Then we had a baby, I got laid off and the boas had to be sold to pay the bills.
Fast forward about 4 years and now I'm considering getting a couple of boas just as a hobby (I know that's how it always starts). What's the word on motleys? I noticed the price has came down drastically since I got out. I'm thinking about starting a sunglow motley project again, but was wondering if I was headed down a dead end. I read that super motleys were bad news, and that you can't get motley and hypo from the same snake since they share the same genetic locus. I'm thinking motley het albino x sunglow or motley albino x dh sunglow.
Am I crazy? (well, crazier than other herp folks) I still have my Neodesha cages, heat tape, thermostats, hooks, probes and all the various snake-care stuff, so my only investment would be the livestock and frozen feeders.
