Hello everyone,
Just wanted to stop in and introduce ourselves and give you some back ground. The TXSRM is filled as a not for profit organization in the state of Texas and is on it's way to opening, but we still have a ton of work to do. Our goal is to open a true Herpetology Museum and learning center. As all of you know this is a an up hill battle. The majority of people out there have been "educated" by a bias media and "experts" that have been given the label by outlets such as animal planet, discovery and other "science media". It is our goal to re-educate everyone about the truth regarding this misunderstood animals. We have been fortunate enough to have a Psychiatrist join our team, who has a plan to use our facility to help patients with Ophidiophobia overcome their fear and anxiety. We will be working closely with other industry leaders, who will be giving lectures on genetics, husbandry and other related topics, including the business of the reptile trade. As well as working with many educational institutions such as UTH, UTSA, UFM, UCLA and others.
TXSRM is also a true reptile rescue, taking in unwanted, found and abandoned animals as well as animals that can no longer be cared for due to circumstance.
Though we except donations the majority of this project has been and will continue to be privately funded. This is a slow process but has momentum and will continue to meet the goals set fourth. Thank you for taking the time to read this and have a wonderful day..... Good luck to all of you and keep up the fight.
