    =====================

I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

I had heard alot of good things about the Superwormfarm so decided to give them a try. First I called and made sure they deliver to Montana. I ordered 1000 tiny supers, 1000 med mealies, and 1000 1/4 inch crix. I was told they would ship on Monday 3 Jan for a Tues 4 Jan delivery. The order came in on Dec 31st instead. When my order arrived there were 1000 tiny supers and 2000 pinheads and everything was dead, dead. not even 1 live cricket and maybe 50 live superworms. I immediately attempted to call them but could not reach anyone and there was no answering machine to leave messages. I do not have internet access at home so had to drive into town to e-mail. I then called again on Monday the 3rd and was told I would receive replacements for the dead supers and the correct items would be sent to relplace them . I got the mealies and crix in good shape but no supers. Again called and this time was told they would credit the card for the supers. This may have happened I have not been able to verify but still was just a big mess.

Thanks for the advice, I will have to check into them. I talked to Superwormfarm today, they still have not credited the card 2 days later, however did promise to leave a note for it to be done either later today or tomorrow. I will have to find out then.

Try to be a little more patient. I have been using this company for years and I buy a LOT of crix. I did have some problems in late '04 but everything was taken care of. I think they have a new packer or something who was messing up the orders. They are a good reliable company.

I like http://www.armstrongscrickets.com

They have been around for over 50 years.. Their crickets have been vet checked and passed with flying colors.. I have been with them for 9 years and WILL NOT CHANGE.. Their superworm size can not be bet.. I have learned the hard way.. You get what you pay for...

The Superworm Farm in my experience is they have absolutely no Customer Service whatsoever. I know they have been struggling with supplying crickets and they were consistant in giving shotages meaning if you order boxes of 1000 you will get a box marked 1000 and actually have 500 in the box and there attitude was if you don't like it to bad so I stopped getting my crickets from them. I still get my Superworms from them and the only problem I've had with there worms was ordering a specific size like a 1/4 inch and get something like an 1 1/4" long which I was unable to feed to my baby Beardies at the time.
I recieved an e-mail from the Superworm Farm that they are no longer growing crickets.
I wish them the best of luck in growing worms and hope they can think about offering Customer Service as well.

What were the temperatures when the insects were shipped? They're quite specific about what temps are needed in order to guarantee live delivery.

I've never had any problem with superwormfarm before, and use them regularly for my cricket needs. I'm a tad disappointed to hear about their poor customer service, but I still rate their actual insects and delivery methods very highly.

The Superworm Farm

I recently ordered crickets and superworms from the Superworm farm and it was the worst order that I have ever received from any company. The crickets were almost all dead and they were not the sizes that I ordered. The fact that most of them were dead was bad enough, but the count was the absolute worst that I have ever seen. The superworm count was also an absolute joke as well.I tried calling them right away, but they didn't have the machine on and I had to wait until monday to talk with someone.I called all week long and spoke to them, but they refused to do anything about the order.
I was not going to post anything about this company until I saw some of these other responses.I think that the only reason people are still using them is because they haven't tried a reputable company yet and have no way to compare. There are plenty of good companies out there and when you see the quality and the count difference,I promise you that you will never go back to the Superjoke farm.I have had great sucess with the southern cricket farm and I recommend that people try them.
Thanks,
Brian

Wow, I have had good luck with them now for over a year. Whenever there is a problem I call and it is taken care of right away. Once, Fed-ex crushed the crix box and I had cirx all over my porch. Superwormfarm sent the order again, including the worms I had ordered so I got double everything. I haven't ordered from them in a month or two due to cold weather. Which if you had crix sent to Montanta at this time of year and they were not packed with heat packs, well, yeah...they'd be dead. Or at least dormant. Did you give them the 24hours they need to heat up? My last order came in and they all appeared dead. I placed them near a heater and within 24hours, not a single one was dead. They simply needed time to heat up again.
Superworm farm has great prices, and have always been there to answer any of my questions or needs. Hopefully these are isolated incidents, or if there was a problem, it has been taken care of.

I quit doing business with them over 2 years ago, poor customer service, poor packaging and under counting crickets were the reasons i dumped them. I use www.premiumcrickets.com great healthy crickets, great customer service, great packaging and ALWAYS overcount.

Long post. Step by step of attempt to rectify

Here is a copy of the e-mail I just sent them. It breaks down everything that has happened. As far as the weather, yes it is cold here. We discussed that and that they indicated it was a go and they would give the live delivery guarantee if I paid for next day delivery, which i did.

Hi, Cheryl Guisbert again.

No I do not agree with this. Let me break it down for you.

Dec 29 I placed a phone order for 1000 tiny Supers for $15, and 1000 med mealworm /1000 1/4" cricket combo at $16 and an estimated $20 shipping Total charge $51. To be sent out Jan 3rd and arrive Jan 4th

Dec 31 Fed ex delivered 1000 tiny supers, all dead, and 2000 pinhead crickets, also dead. 0 mealworms. Unable to get ahold of anyone on the phone I made a 30 mile round trip to e-mail you.

Mon Jan 3rd I called,(as no one had contacted me) and spoke with Donna. Donna indicated it would be taken care of and that a replacement order would be sent. Donna also told me my account would be credited $18 as I had been charged for a mealworm/2000 pinhead combo and 1000 supers instead of the mealworm 1000 1/4" combo and 1000 supers. We agreed on a Wed Jan 5th shipment and a Thur Jan 6th arrival.

Thur Jan 6th Fed ex arrived at close to 5pm my time and delivered the 1000 mealworm/ 1000 cricket combo but no relacement superworms. As you were closed I tried to call Fri but found out you are closed fri's also. So another 30 mile round trip to e-mail on Jan 7th

Jan 10th I was in town so checked my e-mail and found the e-mail you sent to me on the 7th stating that you had credited my account for the overcharge and asking when to ship the supers. I called Donna and asked her to clarify exactly what had been billed and credited to my account. Donna stated she could not check as the computer was upgrading and I could call back in about 15 min. I was unable to return the call that day.

Jan 11th I again called Donna and she confirmed that my account had been credited the $18 and we discussed the superworms. After speaking for a bit decided that since I am going out of town it would be best if you credited me for the superworms as well and that she would inform you that this needed to be done.

Jan 13th I receved an e-mail that you sent on Jan 12th stating that you had already credited my account and believed you had done the right thing. I have explained to Donna that this was billed to a friends card so I did not have ready access to the account. I asked what the total charges were that I was billed, She has not provided this information. I have not been able to get this information from my friend either because her guard unit is preparing to deploy to Iraq and she has not been home. I spend 45 min trying to contact you on the phone with continuous busy signals, then when it rang no one answered.

Here is the bottom line. I received alive and in good shape 1000 med meal worms and 1000 1/4" crickets. This is all I expect to have to pay for. The price for this combo package was $16 plus shipping. Anything else charged to my account needed to be credited back to the creditcard.

Here are the steps I would like taken:
1.) Please send me an itemized statement of all activity billed to and credited to my account.
2.) I will contact my friend and give her the bottom line dollar ammount that should be billed to her card.
3.) My friend will verify if this is the correct ammount charged
4.) I will verify that I was only charged for product that arrived live.
5.) I will inform you as to the accuracy of the billing and indicate if additional adjustments need to be made, and the reasons for the request.

Then regardless of temps they should have arrived alive. I hope they get this taken care of for you! I think with any company we have people who have good and bad experiences. I wish there was one perfect feeder bug compnay out there that no one had bad times with!

Superwormdfarm

These bad orders are all kind of a surprising to me. I don't doubt them, but I've been using them for a good two years now, and with breeding dragons, and raising the babies the orders are very large, and at times confusing with many different sizes of both supers and crix. I've had a few problems here and there, but nothing that would make me run to another company as all these problems where corrected promptly at their expense next day. I've tried a few others in the past worm man, reptile food, and have found The Super worm Farm superior to these few others I've tried. Most my boxes of crickets come with more then what the box is marked and surprisingly not many die offs compared to the other cricket companies. I even got a box right before Christmas, and they wrote me a note thanking me for my business, and added a free box of super worms at no charge. I happen to live in NJ so I can choose ground shipping and still receive them the next afternoon, so that saves me quite a bit of money not having to get them shipped overnight priority. Just in the two years of dealing with them I had maybe a total of 4 mishaps which isn't bad consider how frequantly I order and in the numbers I order at a time.

I have been doing business with The Superworm Farm for many years...

and they have had problems in the past but generally always make good. Please call and ask for Dale. He is the owner and I'm sure your problem will be fixed A.S.A.P....

Good luck and let me know what happens, please.

I've only been using them for a few months now but have to say I just recieved an order of crix and not only were they properly sized but there was like a 50% over count... I really couldn't believe how mant here were... Every time I call someone enswers during working hours and so far I've never had a single complaint with them... I've used SEVERAL different suppliers and had almost nothing but trouble out of every single one... Timberline,Armstrongs, reptile food.com and several others and I am more happy with Superwortm farm than any of them so far...

I don't doubt your claims but I have to say every company screws things up sometimes but the ones that make it right and correct the problem are worth keeping around ands these guys are great for me so far.. I've also heard good things about the place that Brian Kastener mentioned ... and BTW Brian that male I bought off of you is a cricket eating machine... I can't believe he hasn't blown his stomache ot he eats so much...LOL...

Superworm Farm

It's not the fact that they screwed up an order or that the crickets were dead that bothers me.All companies can have some problems from time to time, but the fact that I called them every day for a week and they refused to put the owner on or have someone get back to me really made me angry.I'm glad that you've had good sucess with them Rob and I hope that it continues and you as well matt, but I'm going to stay with the Southern Cricket farm that I know is reliable and always gives a great count.[especially on superworms]
Take care,
Brian

Do you think it had anything to do with it being the holiday time of year? They could have been short handed or their supplier, shorthanded. Still not really an excuse but it could explain some things.

Our experience with Superworm Farm

We gave Superworm Farm every chance to keep our business. I'm not out to trash anybody or talk negatively about another company, but our experience with them has been negative to say the least.

In short, the customer service has been pathetic, (when we could actually get them on the phone), their attitude snobby, their cricket counts herendous, the sizes off by a lot, and just an overall poor attempt of keeping our business.

We gave them over six months to change, work through their problems, and so on. We mainly stayed with them because we were within their shipping zone which made shipping for us fantastic. Often times we could get 25,000 crickets ordered overnight for $25 or less. Very hard to turn that down when you are ordering 25,000 crix every 10 to 14 days.

However, every shipment the counts were off by quite a bit. What originally had made me respond to this post was other people claiming low cricket counts. Every company has dead arrivals, low counts here and there, wrong sized crickets, and so on.

But what has made me irritated about this company is their obvious misrepresented cricket counts. Every box was very low. We would order 10,000 adult crix, and when we opened the boxes it would always look half full. I chalked this up to me being paranoid and let it go thinking everyone has low counts sometimes.

After about six months of this I finally decided to count the crix myself. I know how pathetic that makes me, but I was curious about my own sanity. I picked the adult crix to count bc it was the easiest, even though every sized crix count was low.

SO, both Jessica and I counted two different boxes of 1000 count crix. The first box we counted 543, the second box we counted 384. We paid for 1000 counts. That's ridiculous in my opinion and where we have drawn the line.

Many times we couldn't get them on the phone to correct problems, or to place an order. Every time we placed an internet order we never received shipment and when confronted on the phone about this were told "computer problems" couldn't tell us anything. When we told them about the low cricket counts the attitude was indifference and they would just replace the order.

We all make mistakes and have our share of problems. However, when you blatantly sell 1000 count crix and ship out 500 and under for six months, that goes beyond any claim of "honest mistakes."

my two cents

I live in nj not that far from super wormfarm.(2 hr drive)I have used them for over a year and a half never had a problem.Until my last order. I orderd 1000 supers between christmas and new years got an email from fed ex saying the would arrive on a specified date which came and went.I called they told me they were not sent
due to the weather and yes at the time daytime temps were at or below freezing.i was told they will not ship with temps under 38.
A couple of days later i spoke with donna and she said they will be shipped and i got them the following day.
Fed ex emails are always wrong arrival dates are usaually 2 or 3 days after you get them. i never get correct dates from them on anything.
I havent bought crix from them in over a year not due to problems but, i will still buy superworms from them.
Thanks for your time,
Joe Kendzulak

Wow... That is a terrible count Brandon... come to think of it I had a few shipments I questioned too... maybe I just got used to the lower count and this one was right and that's why I thought it was so many..... LOL.... how pathetic does that make me? LOL... Guess I shoudl keep a better eye on that... I hate to pay twice what something is worth...
