I am currently watching an episode of Animal Hoarding on Animal Planet. One of the stories is focusing on a gentleman who keeps various sorts of lizards and snakes. He has a pair of Collared lizards, a few Balls, some Salamanders, some Colubrids and the stars of the show, four Burms. In total he has 26 animals. Most of them he was given by people who mistreated them or no longer wanted them. Let me just say that if he has 26 and is considered a hoarder then wtf am I? I must be a super megga hoarder! Anyways, all the animals are well fed with no signs of parasites or anything. The only thing I have seen that I disagree with is that he keeps a few balls together in what looks like a 90gallon aquarium and he handles the burms a little rough for my taste and the burms tubs are small, but then again he just got them. The whole show is basically portraying the four Burms as being a danger to his son who looks to be about 7 or 8. They're maybe 10 feet and the guy never lets his son around the big snakes alone and he himself will not take them out for exercise without another person with him. They even showed his son with one of the balls chillin around his shoulders and had a voice over that was something along the lines of the snakes put his son in danger and the father doesnt realize it. So basically, this guy who has 26 herps, all with clean cages, fresh water, and well fed is being labeled as a hoarder. I'll bet by the end of the show he'll be left with a Corn snake and a few Salamanders.
I hate this
but I can't look away!!!
