    =====================

I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. Stop me if you've heard this before, but I've been noticing something with different leos faces. I've seen that some have very long heads, and others have short stockier heads. For examples i've found pics on breeders sites. I don't want ot post their pictures here without permission so I'll just put up links to the pics.

Kelli's
This one is, obviously, on of Kelli's and the face is very long, also:
Robin's
Robin has a younger one with the same long face.

Compare both of those to this one in the leo classifieds:
Other

So any thoughts? I can't seem to find any reasons, other than different genetics, but then the one in the classifieds claims to be one of Kelli's babies. So I'm confused, thoughts please!

ive read in alot of care sheets, and seen alot of pics that showed males heads are shorter, and wider. while females are longer and narrower. kinda like pit bulls.

My males all have long heads, while my 2 short headed ones are Females, one being from Kelli....;)

why is every one here obsessed with putting quotes????? as i said I READ. i didnt say they were. personally, all my males have short heads and my females have long heads, except for ecstacy.

woops that last post came off nasty, sorry about that. its just that every one does the quote thing.

Everyone does the quote thing so the everyone else knows who you are talking too and what you are talking about. If it bothers you so much, then :shrug01:

Well

Well the male/female reasoning doesn't work. Because all three of those leos are females. I understand the whole, male having thicker/larger heads but this stubby to stretched out head difference throws me.

kristen, i think you we are seeeing is not a morph but certain traits from the subspecies...... conesidering the leopard geckos on the market today are nothing more than pretty mutts no pure breeds)..... several subspecies have been bred together over the years and we see the different traits associated with some of the subspecies.
i have some leos with longer faces, some with shorter ones... i have some who's eye sockets sit a bit different or the eyes spaced farther apart (no not deformities).... you will see some long slendered bodied animals and then see some shorter chunkier ones and yet some inbetween... all with different hears and eye shapes and eye placement and also tail length.

it would be nice to get some local specific leos that are100% whatever subspecies they are suposed to be. as far as i know their are three known subspecies (but i think turcmenicus and angramainyu, might be subspecies as well) and i have a good feeling our elos we have today originated and have been bred into and the result is our morphed mutts.

Leopard Geckos of the World

go check that site out and even though you may not see the morphs check out the body build, head size, length and the eye shape and placement and you will see where we are getting all the unique body structures and different head shapes.

hmmm..... very interesting. thats it! im going to the middle east to collect wild specimens... if i get my friggen head chopped off at least it was for a good cause...lol.

its a big mystery because we cant just run over there and grab some leos. we really will get our heads chopped off. not to mention laws about exporting animals from india and such.

i wonder what the laws are concerning exporting leos from iran.... anyone know? justyn?

i actually work with a few people who are from iran and they suggested looking into it via the adminstor of wild life. i suggested on thier next visit they fill a suitcase full of em...lol.

as far as i know all import/export of animals is prohibited at this time... maybe if things ever settle down over there we might open up trading again but like i said i understand for right now that area is off limits

the closed alot of import/export borders from all over the world because of the war. oh, and the hole quote thing, doesnt bother me. some times you doe it for no reason. for instant, when you did it to me, there was no reason cause my post was so short. but when chad just did it, it made sense.

Kinda like how it doesn't make sense to post pics in the discussion forum??......:p

This is a really good topic. I've always wondered why one of my females had such a short head while all of my other geckos (males and females) have longer heads.

Dot is the one with the short head. It looks even weirder cause her body is orange with only three spots while her head and tail are completely spotted. It makes the fact that her head is shorter stand out. She looks like she's wearing a mask hehe :)

I like the post about geckos coming in all shapes and sizes (i don't know how to quote from another post LOL). Kinda like us humans they aren't all the same. Most of my geckos bodies are all short and bulky while one female is very long and thin. She's healthy but i doubt she'll ever get thick.

One of these days i'll get around to posting some pics :)

Red :)

hey josh, go look at the last post under grim & ecstacy, mayb that will explain why i did it. oh, and if u noticed, im not the only one that posts pics under this forum

I think it has to do something with Subspeices and we been interbreeding them between for long time about 10 years even more. It leads into more maution and soe far I know 3 are proof subspices but I hear there is about 6 subspices... Most of our mautions are from subspices... IT is illegal to import from terrtioes contry incdules East Middle and some in Africa.
