I am in the middle of a trade with Rodney Jtineant aka Rodneyj aka Rocket City Royals right now. Normally I would wait until the received animal was out of quarantine or into the quarantine process long enough I could write up a review on the boi, because it is permanent afterall, but Rodney has asked me to share my experience so far if I do not mind. I can sense a strong enthusiasm for him wanting to build up the business aspect of the hobby and do not mind doing so now and following up in few weeks on this BOI post that the animal is just as healthy as I am sure it is! I always say no matter how sure you are the animal and breeder are legit trust no one and quarantine, quarantine, quarantine!!!
Rodney sent me up an absolutely beautiful Orange Dream Fire he produced and raised up. The boy he is receiving was slamming small mice which is what I raise babies on and Rodney asked if I would be willing to work with him as far as holding the boy until he takes live pink rats off paper towels which is how he keeps his animals and he does not readily have a supply of live mice. To me this speaks volumes off the bat because I think a good deal of people that purchase or trade want their new animal now, or yesterday, or a week ago. Not patiently when it switches to rats because they know that is what is best for the animal since I have more than enough live mice and rats to go around and he does not have a source of live mice near him. I know Rodney wants to see his boy in person extremely bad which just tells me his number one concern and priority is what is best for the animals....just how it should be!
Before agreeing to do so and move forward with the trade I chatted with Rodney on the phone a bit and talked genetics, husbandry, and reptiles in general. After even a few minutes on the phone with Rodney I could tell he was one of the real deal good guy herp enthusiasts and had no issues moving forward in trade and working with him until his baby boy started pounding rats. Rodney sounds like his main focus is collecting quality animals that will produce quality animals. I am looking forward to seeing what he does with some of the projects we spoke about and will have no problems doing business with him in the future or putting my name on this statement:
I would recommend doing business with Rodney to anybody that asks. So if you have pulled this thread up digging for info on Rodney Jtineant before you pull the trigger on a purchase or trade hurry up and close this tab and go through with the deal before somebody else does. The quality of the animal I received just blew away any pics he sent me and I feel Rodney is a pretty straight up guy and easy to deal with.
Since the trade is still not complete and I just got the Fire OD male set up in quarantine I will gladly update this thread that the outcome is just as great as I know it will be!
