    =====================

    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
    Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

    And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

I did a trade and this dragon is inthe worst condition i have ever seen a dragon be in. He has agreed to trade me back but my delema is the ethical part. This dragon has a URI Yellow fungus growing on her head and has obviously been attacked by another dragon multiple times (wich was admited unlike the other things). My questoin is: Is it even ethical to alow someone to do business like this and not tell some one evn if the trade back goes through? I dont even know if she will make it back alive.
What would you all do in this situation?

I would say because he did agree to take it back, therefore, as far as you being his customer has rectified the situation, that no, a BOI post is no in order.

However, on the other hand, if the animal was clearly in that bad of condition, I worry and may want to post on that. It may be a isolated incident, but if he was so clearly sick and injured, and yet still traded, probably not. With this being said, I think it should be known as it is very possible that in general, the care they provide is sub-par to say the least and I don't think anyone here would want to do business with them.

On another note, personally, after I sent the animal back and knew it had arrived, I might even go so far as to call their local animal control office and report a neglect situation. I know many people on here do not like to include the authorities due to the industry getting a bad rep, but I don't think it is fair to allow these animals to suffer if they are being neglected.

I believe a BOI thread is in order of one party sends another party an extremely sick animal. I would ask the seller to pay for the critter to see a vet now, rather than be shipped back immediately, ill, if you are willing to take it and get it seen and if you and the seller agree the critter was ill prior to shipping. But you are saying that the seller is not admitting 'the other things' so there are actually two sides to this story.
While the seller has said he would reverse the trade it has not yet been done. The BOI is both for resolution and for warning others, I certainly would not want to buy from someone who would send out a sick critter in the first place but the seller should be able to present his side if he is saying that the critter was in fact not ill when shipped.

Whatever route you decide to take, you should have started picture documentation. It's not too late if the dragon isn't healed/healthy by now.

I do have pics. I had to get her at the post office at 2 in the morning i took pics thier right away and have been taking pics since

I would say an information thread would be fair.

If you don't want to put the label "bag guy" on the seller, an info thread would be legitimate to warn other people.

I just wish i knew more about yellow fungus its sressfull and i just ghope my dragons dont get it too. does any one know any great sites i have been googleing all day?

Yes every time. But i did handle her on my chest. I always wash my hands but was unaware of the danger of spores and i held my other dragons on my shoulders and chest as well. I am unsure of the percentage of possiblity of them catching it but i am very worried right now. I was told not to get the dragon back that i traded because thier is a large possibilty that she will also be carieing theinfection by now. I am going to the vet monday to get a full report and when everything is confermned will ask to have my dragon fully paid for.

Is yellow fungus completely curable? And are dragons unbreedable after they have had it? Any answers would be helpfull i cant find info on line

Had to put the dragon down today:( So sad she was so pritty and will be missed!

I'm so sorry. What did the vet say was wrong with her? Did you get your money for your dragon?

I will be getting my money as long as he fallows through. The vet said she was in really bad shape she did have yellow fungus a URI and perisites so she was a mess:( I will ahve a full repot from the vet to add to this dabauchle if he does not fallow through.
