    =====================

    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
    Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

    And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

This is just sad.

Saw a local ad for a breedable female cinnamon ball python. Sweet I thought! They tried to breed her this season and saw her lock up several times but never produced. They said they weren't sure why it didn't take. Well I meet the people and this is the ball they had. She is beat from here to hell, covered in scars from bites and emaciated. Her skin hangs off of her and you can see every vertebrae in her spine in person. I took her and got the hell out of there! I got her home and threw her on the scale, 598 grams! Well no wonder she didn't produce eggs for them! We've got a lot of work to do with her. Hopefully she will eat for us tonight. She is far worse than the other female normal ball we rescued back in December, who is now a complete chunker and has nearly tripled her weight. Wish us luck!

These pics make her look 100 times better than she really is!

She actually looks really thin even in the pic!!!
Get her fattened up! Hopefully she will eat!

Did they say what they were feeding her? And how old is she?

BTW, she is every bit of 3.5 foot. 600 grams and 3.5 feet? The people believed her to be in good health and said they prefer not to "power feed" thier animals and let them grow at a natural pace.

We don't power feed any of our animals either. They all get an appropriate sized rat every week and none of them are overweight.

They obviously didn't know what they were doing. Are you sure she is even a cinnamon? Cinnies usually have more pattern on them.

Hopefully the other snakes they were using to breed to her are out of their hands.

The pics make her look a lot better than she really is. She looks like something you would see on Animal Cop's. They said they have been feeding her small and medium rats every week. Bullcrap! They also said they fed her yesterday. There is NOTHING in her stomach. If I run my finger under her belly it sucks my finger up to the first knuckle! As far as age, I have no idea. She looks fairly young. Two years maybe?

Greencountryreps, she looks like a dark normal to me. I believe most of her lack of color is due to her condition. I don't believe she is a cinny at all. Now if she bulks up and in a couple years I breed her to a pastel and I get pewters, we'll know. For now I just wanna get some weight on her.

That said we got a small meal in her and she drank a LOT. Figure in a couple days we'll offer her more. Seems to work good doing it that way. Lots of small, frequent meals until they show a little weight gain, then resume a normal feeding schedule.

Yeah I don't see cinny either?

I don't either. Thats what originally attracted me to the ad. We are in the market for a female cinny. I knew right away she wasn't a cinny, but I felt obligated as a human being to get her away from them. At least now she will be taken care of.

Awesomeness, good luck with her :thumbsup:

Poor thing. Did you go to the previous owner's home? Were other snakes there in such poor condition?

I'm glad you've got this one now and can get her back up to health.

I'm so glad to see that you took her and gave her a MUCH better home, despite her not even being the morph that you went to get!!! Best of luck with her!!

We are always willing to adopt needy animals. We've taken in everything from balls to beardies, chams, rats, dogs and more. How can someone say no? There have been times when we first went out on our own that money got really tight for us because we couldn't say no. Luckily my sister lived very close by and was equally as passionate about rescues and would often rescue us by feeding us when we would give ever last penny we had caring for them. We are at least stable now so none of us have to worry about our next meal. :D

I'll post updates as she progresses.

Well, its been a little over 2 weeks since we had her and its already like night and day. We've been giving her small, frequent meals and she has already started to gain weight. I know for a fact she wasn't thin because she was a poor eater. She is a pig! Every 5 days she has been destroying small rats.

Got pics? Half of our collection came from rescues and were in poor shape when we got them.

Makes ya wanna put those people in cages and starve them til they are on the brink of death too, huh? If they can starve thier animals until they look like holocaust victims/runway models, we should be allowed to do the same to them. I think thats fair.
