    =====================

    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
    Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

    And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

Picked up this male day before yesterday.

He is a very nice white color, the previous owner (one of my father's friends) had this boy for about 3 years, he got it from a pet-store. He's about 16.5" or so. It's a shame because his whole life he has been in the same 20 gallon tank, only given a few baths in his life, very rarely offered any greens and when he was, it was iceberg lettuce, and not given any supplements. The last 4 months was without UVB bulb, and the cage hadn't been cleaned since christmas... Also the sand he was kept on was calcium sand.

So needless to say, this boy went home with me. I have him under a good UVB and on clean newspaper, I gave him a bath and some of the pooh stains are so stained onto his vent area I can't even scrub them off with a washcloth, I plan on getting him some albon and some Pancur as well. Right now he is quarantined from my other dragons.

Once I get him back up to health, I may have to find him a new home, I'm not sure yet. The white color is very nice looking.

how old is this guy? he semms little for at least 3. good luck with him!

Dan,he is in remarkably good condition for the conditions that he was kept in. Very nice looking,even though on the small side. It might be best to let him get used to his new place and be sure he's eating well before pumping him full of de-wormer. His weight looks good so there doesn't seem to be an immediate threat,going to the vet and giving those meds could possibly put him off food for a bit,and he needs to settle in first. Just my 2 cents.

i would agree, his weight looks good for his length. maybe Shelton just has small hands lol. he just seems stunted. but yes, from what they've said, he's definitely GREAT looking compared to what he's been through.

He looks good, man!!! I would keep him simply for the fact that "normals" are becoming more rare now a days.

And he has that neat wild-type patterning... I like him :thumbsup:

Well, he chomped down about 100 crickets earlier today, and not to mention probably the first nutritious salad he has ever had in his whole life.

I was going to wait until a couple weeks before getting the dewormer angie. Right now he is just settling in and getting used to a clean environment and having clean water and food. I don't see any immediate reason to take him to a vet... I think the dewormers should do just fine in the future, but he is acting like any other beardie I have. Perky and standing tall. lol

LOL, and atrocious one, no small hands.. I mean, being just over 6ft I'd imagine my hands are normal sized for my height/body type lol.
he's actually very small for a male that old. I definitely don't think I would ever breed him, assuming I kept him, because of that reason. He would definitely make a good pet though. He was very rowdy, but after that bath last night he has chilled out remarkably. He's taking this all very well.

That's great Dan,and he even liked his salad ! Pretty unusual for one that never had it before. He'll probably be just fine with the plan that you have laid out.

Thanks Angie,

Yes i'm hoping to have him fed up, calmed down, and medicated in the next month and a half or two months. Then, if I haven't decided to keep him I'll try finding him a new home. This time, one that will actually care for him the way he's supposed to be cared for :thumbsup:

lol i would imagine no small hands at over 6 ft. but that is a very pretty beardie. i'd say keep him just cuz he looks awesome. plus you're kind of his knight in shining armor, so to speak.

I can imagine that after you get him nice and healthy and keep him for a while, you will probably grow more attached to him just because of how his living conditions were before you got him. I know if I was in the position I'd probably miss him too much lol

Yeah Sara, I really like him, just don't know if I have any more room to spare... Whether I keep him or decide to send him to a good home, just knowing I did something to help him out is what will really mean something to me. :yesnod:
